4. Sir, i clearly stated "shut out/blow out".... you just confirmed my whole argument. If the score was 3 to 0 then you would be right when you say the defense was great but the offense was sub-par. So visa versa, if the score was 54 to 0 doesnt that mean that the offense was beyond productive ?? Points just dont come out of thin air... Here are some stats to ease your mind. La marque has had 7 games of at least 35+ pts or more this season, 5 defensive shut out performances, won every game by a margin of at least 2 scores excluding the lone loss to CS, and our offense is averaging 35.7 pts per game. Might i also add that we kept Friendswood scoreless in our preseason scrimmage with them, as well as Whooped up on a very athletic and talented Texas city team. (which are both 4a playoff teams) So weak teams or not, I would say we are in great position to take control of this game. Hope, i didnt offend you with the football knowledge statement but it is a fact that both sides of the ball have to be hitting on all cylinders for a blow out AND shut out to occur. Especially late in the season..
 5.
game  mid-way thru the 3rd Q with their decent offense. La marque's Offense NOW , is far from stagnant as we've seen from the 5 shut on wins Cougar2011, kinda not following how the offense has produced the 5 shutout wins. Unless you are trying to say that cause LaMarque has some form of offense now it makes the defense play better. I will say it again "Until someone knocks Coldspring off in this regoin then they are the team to beat"
To respond to an earlier comment, The teams in Lamarque's district might not be offensive powerhouses like coldsprings and others, but i would argue to say that almost everyone of those defenses we played were decent units. Yes our defense has created a lot of turnovers and 3 and outs as well as shut outs, but without LA Marque's offense taking advantage of those opportunities the score would look like 21 to 0 not 54 to 0 or 48 to 0 (which is what we put up against a talented west columbia squad). And you can't blame la marque for being in a weak district, this is where we fell after dropping from 4a, if we were in Navasoto or WO-S's district i think we would put up just as good of numbers. If you knew anything about football you would know that a shut out/blow out victory involves playing a COMPLETE game. Which means both offense and defense were near flawless. But like you say, they have the braggin rights until we prove them wrong... see you all friday under the bright lights.
 6.

A rematch is never a good thing to the team the won the first go around. I truly believe LaMarque will wipe the floor with them this go around
Coldspring won the first matchup, and IMO, has improved..  I'm sure that La Marque has improved as well.  All considering, what has changed since the last matchup to make you think that La Marque will whip the floor with them?
I'll give you a few reasons.... During pre-season La marque's offense was stagnant and overly depended on it's defense. And because of la marque's inability to bust the game open in the first half with all its 3 and out opportunities, it allowed coldsprings to get back in the game  mid-way thru the 3rd Q with their decent offense. La marque's Offense NOW , is far from stagnant as we've seen from the 5 shut on wins. Also might i add, even when we let coldsprings get momentum and get back in the game, they couldnt finish the job in regulation. It took a last minute TD to decide who would win. La marque will come into this rematch angry, not just confident.... They're a team on a mission and thats something hard to stop. I say la marque by at least 2 TD's.

And the Houston area is the closest "big" county to our little district so we should definitely be on that list.... 5 championship teams and 10 other playoff finals appearances. The numbers speak for themselves.
La Marque should be on any list that concerns winning football in the state of Texas.
Yet we are constantly questioned and sometimes doubted by a lot of media in big game situations... I think we've proven time and time again that we can compete with just about anyone... We have moved down to 3a because of our low enrollment and yet, i can name at least 2 or 3 5a teams that would have nightmares about La marque's defense this year.
 9. #5 la marque vs Houston Worthing in the first round.... should be an easy win... almost too easy.

 11.
I knew my boys would win this game. La Marque really doesn't have great passing nor rushing offense to really go far.. And yeah Navasota's passing is great, got to have better discipline and pass defense to stop Navasota. Good game Trojans!!!
"Nor a good rushing offense to really go far"..... Our QB had 180 rushing !!! And our starting RB only touched the ball 10 times the whole game and racked up 90 yards. Let us not forget it is still preseason.. district hasnt even began much less for playoffs so sloooow your roll there short stuff. We have more than enough time to improve on both sides of the ball. Coldsprings just made us pay for our sloppiness on the line, and believe when we meet again that problem will be brought to our attention. I think this loss will actually do us more good than bad, we needed that slap in the head. The boys have to realize that persistent execution is just as important as having an athletic advantage over your opponent.
 12. This game reminded me of sweet and sour chicken in a sense.. The competition between these two teams lived up the hype, and as a result it took an overtime score to decide it all.. That was the sweet part. But if we could just be realistic for a second and really think about this....  La marque had this game under wraps. It was the inexcusable penalties by la marque that allowed coldspring to walk out of that stadium with the "w". I dont think i have ever seen THAT many yellow flags thrown at a la marque team in my whole 10 years of living in this county. Yet, somehow we managed to keep the score tied almost the whole game... It's almost scary to imagine what La marque "Could" do if we could just be more disciplined and executed better on offense. There is no reason for your QB to have more rushing yards that your RB when he is fully capable of being a threat himself, what kind of offensive game plann was that ? i really don't know, but i still have faith in what our coaches are doing with the kids and i do see improvements being made every week so only time will tell. Ultimately we beat ourselves... not to take anything away from the trojans but we let this one slip away and coldspring being the talented team that they are took advantage. I hope we meet again, 'redemption' will be the word of the day. Great game
 13. Today is the big day... 4 hours until game time. Hope to see all your after thoughts following the show.

Lm will have to big lead early... however i'm hoping Coldspring's can make some halftime adjustments to make the game interesting. If not, shut out for la marque. LM 21 to 34 CS 10
I'm pretty sure that Carthage in '10 and Wimberley in '11 have prepared CS offense for the LaMarque defense.  I know they weren't LaMarque, but both did win the state championship that year.  I bet the game against Navasota last week has also helped to prepare CS for LaMarque.  I am not saying LaMarque is not a good team, and may beat Coldspring by 20 points this week, but I bet the Trojans have seen as good of a team in the last 2 years.  I guess we have to wait till friday to find out.  I still think the Trojans win.
Sorry i should have been more specific. I dont know much about Coldspring as a program because as we know La marque has been 4A for the longest while. What i meant was that they haven't seen a defense as vicious as La marque's this season, and though they return a lot of their starters from last year we still have to remember that this is La marque, your comparing team's from two years ago to this years team... but 2 years ago La marque was the state 4a division III runner up next to aledo. So either way Coldspring has a huge mountain to climb, but by no means am i saying there is no hope. Coldspring isnt ranked #6 in 3a for nothing... I expect everything to be left on the field, will be a great game. Goodluck to both teams.
 15. La marque #1 vs Coldspring #6 .... in preseason.!!! This game regardless of the mismatch should have a first round playoff-like atmosphere... You can count on me being in attendance.

 18.
RHBoiler you sound very level headed. Yes, I am referring to the LM vrs Oz game. The first incident (fourth quarter) was two players in a he said she said pushing match on the Ozen side line. However, a few more Ozen players joined the fracas either as close observers or participants ( I could not see the details clearly) and The LaMarque bench wrongfully emptied to the Ozen side. This skirmish was halted by the coaches from both teams very quickly. The game ended with very little emotion from either side. Actually, I observed (sitting on the LaMarque side) that players from both teams especially Ozen were smiling and offering congrats in a friendly manner. LaMarque appeared to graciously accept the comments. At that time I noticed that a Ozen player was trying to interupt the line in the middle of the field (#6) and an Ozen coach was really trying to man handle him away from the still hand shaking line. The coach appeared to pull him from the line but the player then (along with others) then moved to block the LaMarque teams exit to the dressing rooms. It was at this point that the teams collided and all heck broke loose. It would be impossible for me to watch the number of altercations and crowds of players and policemen and be accurate in stating who started and who stopped....... However, I will accurately note that the police seemed way more to concentrate on the Ozen individuals and still photos appear to verify that fact. I think it is important to note that much of the activity was at the LaMarque exit, leaving one to wonder why Ozen would have been located there and considering who won and who lost...well????? As I stated, the films will appear and better observations than mine will be easy to establish. Meanwhile raging back and forth on these sites is all it is.....raging back and forth on these sites.
This is exactly what i explained earlier, but apparently they need to hear it from someone NOT in coognation. Ozen players ended up fight near la marque's side. How could that happen if they were suppose to be going the other direction.
 19. La marque wins by 3 to 6 pts. with great offensive production and better deffensive stance. Yall are forgetting that other than missed holding calls by the reffs, the La marque vs Ozen game was a fair and square win. La marque has no problem with Manvel, they are our 24-4a brothers, but somebodies gotta go home... And i don't we're ready yet. It will be a great game, no doubt about that.. best one yet.

Congrats to LaMarque, despite all the coaching changes over the years, they still manage to have success. The one time Central played LaMarque in the 3rd round of the playoffs (I think 2004) they talked a lot prior to the game.  Don't really remember too much during the game but I think its more of their pre-game intimidation. Congrats to the Panthers on a great season but to be honest, a few Ozen players tried to start the same thing after the victory over Central earlier this year but the coaches were able to keep them seperated. Sometimes emotions run high.  If a few players can't control their emotions once then it is an isolated incident.  If a program continues to have the same thing occur then its a lack of discipline...
Thank you sir.. Finally someone that makes sense, and isnt commenting out of emotional anger. I've said my peace.

We could say it was the weather, which I think had a lot to do with it, but it is what it is. We lost. 2nd....your team was VERY undisciplined and were'nt being corrected for it. I think your team would finish 5th or worse in our district. You were NOT the best team we've seen all year. Not even 3rd best. BUT.....you won today. Congrats to you but you have left a VERY poor image of your program and players and we look forward to seeing you again next season...........bank on that. ;)
I'll say 2 things on this subject and i will leave it at that... First, If la marque is so called "classes" for defending themselves when the reffs werent doing it, then i guess Ozen is just as classless. If you stay the whole game then you remember that after the hand shake... the leading la marque players went toward the right side (from both your and my angle) of the end zone, while the leading ozen players walked towards the left... Soo if the fight happened in the middle of the field, doesnt that mean that BOTH players had to have confronted eachother?? You cant be so blind as to not see that your team was just as wrong as mine... Secondly, Any one of our top 3 teams of 24-4a can beat Ozen and we're #2. So how does that solidify us as a 5th place team in your district... You must be joking. Sounds to me like your just sucking on a lemon a little to hard, no offense. Sour losers never learn to be winners... remember that.
Lol......sour....uhh....no sir. We had a GREAT season!!!!! And we are WINNERS who exceeded many expectations and were VERY blessed to do so. Your team is classless sir. What manifested at the end of the game and 3rd qtr was a result of constant chatter and dirty playing the ENTIRE game from your team that was NOT corrected by your coaches. YES our kids were wrong for retaliating and participating but it's only so much you can take!!! Does that justify our actions?? Probably not. I PROMISE you we are not sour, sad or ashamed about the year we had. And a loss in the 3rd round after not being picked to even make the playoffs is a great accomplishment for us. But poor execution on our part and losing to a classless act as lamarque is enough to wish for fall 2012 to get here quicker. Congrats again cougs. Looking forward to your matchup with Manvel next week. ::) ::)
It's hard to say that your players were only involved with retaliation. Let's be real, nobody is innocent in a bench clearing brawl when an entire team runs across the field. Both teams are responsible. For you to say that La Marque's behavior was ONLY retaliation, i say that you are very close and narrow minded. Keep drinking that La Marque kool-aid. Oh by the way, we understand yall are winners. The records show that. Everyone in the state respects LM's program, no question about it. With that said, you can also be terrible winners.
Ha! umm i dont know if you got your users mixed up or what but it was actually an ozen fan that posted that reply... NOT one of coog nation. smh You don't even know how to argue right lol how can you possible want to fight... hahaha OZEN said that their behavior was only retaliation !! So your exactly right, they are very narrow minded. .. They must have had some "La marque Kool-aid" ... lol smh

As a matter of fact he accused Angleton of the same thing to such an extreme manner he got flagged by a moderator on the Ned/Angleton thread. Today he jumped on the Ozen/LM thread and stirred the pot there as well. He should really add "Jerry, Jerry" as his signature. As for the other dirty, undisciplined remarks that seem to be branded on our program since it's inception that's crapola! It's called envy and poor sportsmanship and to be quite honest a few over here need to learn how to deal with losing because some seem to do it quite often when they play LM. Those are the very same folks who will get on here and yak it up next week on here if Manvel takes us down.
