1. Sorry i was having computer trouble. But... La marque 68 vs Brazosport 3 Texas City 31 vs Pasadena Memorial 20 St. Thomas 31 vs Santa Fe 14 Lamar Consolidated 14 vs Ball High 7 Fort Bend Baptist 44 vs bay area christian 22
 2. Update em' at the end of every quarter as you get them. I'll try to do the same with the teams closest to my region.
 3. Ohh im a coog myself. I know we'll do well as long as we continue to improve every week. Im still concerned about those penalties though, and the the secondary height... They have Ja'coree as one of the corners as well as reciever and RB. Im all for seeing him on offense, but im not convinced yet that he belongs on defense. I use to talk to this kid almost everyday at football practice, and i cant recall his exact ht. but i know he's below 5'6... That going to be a problem against manvel and dawson.
 4. This game was even a challenge lol. But I hope LM does this well against the good teams

We're warming up for you Aledo... and others :)
Not trying to say anything against La Marque, they are a great team and Tim Wright is an insane running back. Those stats right there are worth a D1 scholarship but he is still 100 yards behind Grey.
Yeah but the coach took him and all the other starters out late in the 3rd and let the second team go in on both sides of the ball because the score was going up so high. Im sure if he was in the whole game he would have hit 300+ rushing.

 7. Okayy. Well i know we're not exactly in setx, but we're still 4a so here's mine.. La Marque Cougars Friendswood (away) - The past few years have proved to be an almost guaranteed shoot-out when these two teams face off with their high powered offenses. This year might be a little different considering FW lost their star QB and LM as new defensive and offensive coordinators. But nevertheless, the outcome of this game will still say a lot about both teams. It may also be the game that decides the district champs. Dawson (home) - Dawson still has a good defense and is athletic on both sides of the ball. They are definitely someone to consider in the race to district champs. Manvel (away) - Even though the final score didn't show it, Manvel put up a good fight both times we played them and they are still a young team. So with the little experience they have, this season they could very well compete in another playoff run. Texas City (home) - Texas City beat us (LM) fair and square that sad night last season. A lot of these players grew up together or attended middle schools together so their is a great bit up emotional stress between these two teams. LM just wasn't playing LM football, and to make matters worst there was horrible play calling by the head coach... But TC has a RB that can really pick up some yards and a decent receiving corp. Should be another interesting game at the "Battle by the bay". Sante fe (home) - We pretty much have this game in the bag, but i won't them out just yet.. They have a pretty good RB returning (Andrew Mann), which i'm sure they will depend on a lot in the ground game. Ball (away) - new coach means new hopes and expectations. They found a way to stick with us in last season's game but ultimately the cougars outplayed them, if they can come away with a few wins under their belt early on this season they might be more of a threat, but until then its very likely that LM will win. Brazosport (away) - Not really a big competitor, especially for a state runner up team.  LM vs Brazosport last season.... LM:40 Brazosport:0 Sterling (home) - I don't recall LM playing Houston Sterling before so I can't really say how this would go, but if Yates beat them and we defeated Yates in the 2nd round of the playoffs then i dont see a threat here at all. Wheatley (away) - Complete annihilation of this team last season... (48 - 7) their returners showed no promise. I would think that this season will be better for them but they won't have enough scoring ability for this speedy La marque defensive. Terry (away) - I don't really know what to say about Rosenburg Terry... This is LM's first game of the season though, so i guess we'll see what they have to offer this friday.  ;D
 8.
Top to bottom no doubt.
Do you think its because of the size and speed we have? Or is talent just breed that well in 24-4a..?

They may not all be the hardest hitters but unlike last year it's wrap up the runner first then go for the strip as opposed to last year where at times it was the other way around.
coog88, Don't you think La Marque is going to have a rough start with the lack of height and experience in the secondary?
Quick outs or hot crossing routes (beware of Butler though) might be a better option for opponents to get 5-7 yds rather than going for the deep ball. Unless we face a hoss of a line like Aledo I don't think their QB's will have the time to even throw deep too often. Best way to counter our speed is to have a QB that rolls out every play instead of trying to stay in the pocket. Don't forget Coach Jackson isn't opposed to having players go both ways if need be under certain circumstances. If I recall correctly Kendall Hill (WR 6'3") played safety at times but I'm confident the DB coach will make adjustments if need be or double up to try and counter height differences. Brian Allen (WR 6'3) could help out but I don't think that will occur very often if at all?
Yeah, I agree. DE Lawrence Montegue is also one to keep your eye on. He came up big in a lot of LM's home games.

 11. I wish good luck to all the talented teams in 4a. The better the competition the better the game for us fans.  ;)

Our kids did what they did last year with almost 3A enrollment #'s and with an unprepared coaching plan for a good part of the year. LM will be better COACHED from the word go and yes, again they will have close to 3A enrollment #'s too. No need to be so envious because of the success we have. Now that we got rid of JORDAN and have a new staff those boys will be just as lethal if not better than last year. Our "D" coordinator isn't even playing games and I betcha the past JORDAN era where teams were putting up 40+ don't happen again this year.
Couldn't have said it better myself  ;)
 13. I would think so, but from what i hear some people don't think so. Any thoughts?

Would you really call it a slap in the face? It was only a scrimmage. If it was a full game... i cant even imagine what the score would be.. Don't wanna over exaggerate here but I would say it wasn't that bad a lose compared to what it could have been.  8)
So your saying if it would of been a real game that the coogs would of really  kick some butt , huh !  " Now thats a slap in the face " The Coogs have a great team no doubt!  One of the rare schools with 3a numbers that have 40 players on their roster that could play on most 5a teams and that being said with only 9 band members ( do the math before you get to pompous )
I'm saying if it were a real game the score would be even higher than it was, i'm thinking 5 to 6 scores at the most.. But what ever the case, Central's defense would have had an unmistakable hand print on their faces (if it were a real game). This scrimmage was a basic run-thru for both teams. I was trying to give you guys confidence saying it wasn't that bad a loss. lol But this is just my opinion, don't take it to heart.
Wow!  You gathered a 6 score victory based off of a scrimmage in August?  By the way, you do know that 2 or 3rd team defenses and offenses would not have been in the game.  Again, I do admit.  We would have lost, but you don't do it by 6 scores.  Thats talking foolish.
Considering Central only had 1 first down the entire scrimmage, or so i read, I summed up 5 scores to be the MOST not the LEAST that La Marque could have scored in a real down. They play hard all 4 quarter and traditionally harder in the 4th than any other. But once again, this is just my opinion base off previous knowledge and what i've seen in practices. Don't take it to heart, but also don't forget that this is a playoff caliber team. Their success will come down to how well they use what they have and if they can avoid injuries late in the season. No disrespect intended.

Central didn't look really into it (this happens at 10:30 am scrimmages on 100+ degree turf). Still the Coogs were clearly better especially on the line. I think LM could've scored more if they would've continued to throw deep. Usually in a scrimmage you have set plays picked out though. The Central D did a good job of bending but not breaking a couple of times. But I'm still saying the Jags are a playoff contender for sure.
Well said, especially on the bend don't break on a team of that magnitude.  By the way, I don't know what it is with these Coogs and that one TALL receiver.  They have one every year.  That kid looked 6'3".
Lol I know right.. He has awesome footwork too. He's going to do a lot of damage on deep routes. Its fortunate because he just came to La Marque last year but has adapted well during 2-a-days.
 18.
I don't understand the 4A poll...don't know how Manvil isn't ranked higher..they have like 14 returning starters back I believe?  Unless those they did lose were major contributor's and things are yet to be determined on how good their replacements are?
Welll.... La marque played Manvel twice last season once in the regular season (41 - 27) and once in the playoffs (44 - 28) and LM won both times in blow out fashion.. Even though the we really good games. So I would guess that is why La marque is ranked higher.
Yeah, according to the new coaches. We're going to see a lot more of La Marque's incredible speed being used on both sides of the ball.. So as long as no injuries or self-made pit holes occur, we should be looking at another great season. I'm anxious to see what friendswood and aledo (if we get that far) we have in store for us.
Yeah, his name is Johnathan Gray.
Johnathan Gray is a big factor, no doubt. But the majority of his bust out plays were due to great blocking schemes for Aledo's O-Line, which our old defensive coach didn't know how to counter. I'm sure our new defensive coordinators will have something up their sleeves for such effective running teams as the season goes on. But your right, Johnathan Gray is great. I would love to see the rematch between him and Timothy Wright. It was a straight out brawl the first 3 quarters of the state championship....

Lamarque Manvel Dawson FWood
According to the texas high school football poll La Marque is no. 5 in 4a and FWood is like no. 21 i think..
