From 65-83 Nederland never beat PNG it was up til 84 Nederland finally did win that’s what I was referring about…. Almost 20 years but I guess you wanna go back to that route since you have those Monte shades on…
94-16 Nederland did indeed have good years…
Monte record against PNG is 2-5 a win every 3 years.. so I guess he’s due next year?
    Nuemann era 17-7
Im glad to see you are ok with Losses to arch rival, going below .500 and just making the playoffs… LMAO

The game has changed so much over the past 40 years it's not even funny I still have a game from 1987 when Arlington outweighed Odessa Permian 70 pounds a man and was able to advance simply on technique and coaching...but one thing remains the same if my team can control the line of scrimmage their going to win most of the games played...PN-G has both coaching and size the domination in the trenches is really a sight to see...Nederland has neither of those and that's why the program is in the shape its in right now just my opinion

Once again 75% of the taxpayers are part of the brotherhood in some way or form, so most of the pressure will not change anything. Get it down to 50% then there is a chance for some type of change. I believe Barrow earned his shot as head coach at Nederland, he checked all the boxes as a position coach, OC, leader the players looked up to & trusted. After 7 years of running the show a few cracks & dings have shown up in his armor with some good years & some bad. It's all not on him & the coaches a few factors have helped the down turn, but he is the top football dog in charge so he will get all the blame just like most head coaches do. Down turns happen to all high school sports programs, but the key is after back to back losing seasons can the current coaching staff at least bring the program back to the 11-3, 10-2, 9-4 days with 2nd to 4th round playoff runs every 2 to 4 years. If they can do that then they probably will have jobs coaching until they retire from NISD. If they get to a state championship game NISD will build golden statues of the coaching staff at the entrance to the stadium.😁
On a side note I am told Central Jr. High 8th Grade group just finished their 2nd undefeated season, dominating every team they played. So this might be the group mixed with some other grade levels that put Barrow back at the top of the district standings within the next 2 or 3 years.

Negativity breeds negativity….those that do nothing but piss and moan, breed more of the same and it achieves absolutely zero except to make the community as a whole look bad, so congrats to all the complainers…what your doing seems to be working
for me, I’ll say this, congrats Dogs on a season that was better than the last one….movement in a positive direction is what I hoped for this year and it’s what happened….sometimes things don’t line up perfectly for you, you don’t have the numbers, the best talent, or the health…you deal with adversity…adversity doesn’t build character, it reveals it!!  These young men and this staff have persevered through it, despite adversity and frankly a lot of negativity from many in the community….hats off, those who handle it properly will be stronger for it…I hope those who were injured recover quickly, have a great off season, and look forward to a better 2024 season
    Go Dogs!!

That maybe the worst 20 minutes of Football I've seen Nederland play ever...we had fumbles Lake Creek defense scoring TDs our QB getting hurt giving up 2 Point Conversions FGs everything in those 20 minutes that could go bad did go bad

Nederland did not sit at home in 1999 playoffs? They was Co-district champs. They lost to eventual state champions Texas City in the quarterfinals.

Nederland made the playoffs every year from 1996-2006 2007 season they didn’t then started a streak again..
Without digging too much I think since 1996 Nederland has not qualified for the playoffs you can count on 1 hand…

I’m a Bulldog for life, but if that was to happen, let me just say PNG would possibly be STATE CHAMPIONS.  Seriously no district in their right minds would not like to have a RB of that caliber.  I feel if they get a new coaching staff maybe thinks will turn around, they can’t afford to lose any players to be honest.  I don’t see him leaving though.

You are correct to a  point Honestly the coach’s didn’t want to win this game you have 3rd and inches and you wanna do a screen pass with no blocking at all last night.    So what’s embarrassing is when you don’t put you kids in position to win.  But Hey they have year right??? 🤷🏻.

Another test for the dogs.  I think they bounce back from a dismal game last week.  Inconsistency has plagued this young team all year.  It's time for the dogs to show up and end the regular season with a bang.  Dogs by 7.

Its just hurting you to see Nederland make the playoffs and seeing that nearly all their players are coming back next year and Nederland will be better. Get on board and support the team.

He was insinuating all year that Nederland wasn’t going to be competitive.  Fact is they are starting 22 underclassmen, including several freshmen and sophs, they have been very competitive in district, the guy would’ve never dreamed we would’ve had WOS and FBM in a spot to beat ‘em.  Nederland has made some major strides forward this year and despite the tone of some “fans???”… the program is on a positive trajectory.  I see some great football coming in the near future.

Some quick historical notes for the PN-G fans out there who are, like myself, so inclined:
The Indians' 25 point margin of victory over the Bulldogs is the largest any PN-G team has enjoyed over Nederland since 1992. Through 25 games, Coach Joseph now sports a 21-4 record with the Indians. This is the best start of any PN-G coach to make it to 25 games since Gene McCollum finished his second season with with the Indians 24-1 in 1947. It's the second best start of all time for a PN-G HC. Statistically speaking, he has outperformed even Doug Ethridge and Lew Ford so far (though Ford brought home a state championship ring in his first season, in fairness). I think pngindians.com and Down Trails of Victory make it easier to research PN-G history than it is to do so for any other high school program in Texas. "Daddy's money" is paying dividends. 😎

My man...you need to find some positive energy and go rally the Ned kids.  They are playing hard, giving what they got, and remember, they are 15-18 year old kids.  PN-G has had its share of down years.  It happens.  But, I don't think the Indian faithful would tear down their own kids or take pride in predicting a bad season.  That goes against our core values of Honor, Pride, and Tradition.  Hit the pause button and go support your kids, encourage them, love them, and thank them for busting their ass for all of our Friday night enjoyment.  Go Indians.  Peace.

On a serious note. It’s a far cry from the old days. Waking up, reading what Bob West or Tom Halliburton wrote up Tuesday through Friday. The area coverage definitely isn’t what it once was. The rivalry is a lot calmer than it once was… I had a hand in burning some strategic letters on a certain field. But this game never goes as planned, other than the Ethridge years, Malone years, and Neauman years. So I expect it to be a battle from beginning to end. No prediction, because this game is simply unpredictable…… I do think it’s a huge game for Monte. But we are getting closer.
