1. So is it safe to say that in Football, the district gets stronger, but in everything else, it gets weaker? Travelwise it is perfect as fans will be able to attend away games.  I was worried we would be the next school that would have to head east....but Livingston took that bullet again. How long till opening week?
2. I guess you have to define if you are looking for the best while they were in SE Texas or what they have went on to once they left the right side of Texas.  McCain did make the WNBA but I think it was only for a year and scored 83 points more than Pennee in the WNBA careerwise (83-0) looking at WNBA stats. If we are looking at what they accomplished during high school then you can also look at team success.  Any State Championships for final appearances for Silsbee during McCain's tenure?  *I think they made it to finals in her early years.  The late 80's HJ teams were awesome with Yathisha Bosha and the mid 80's Hardin teams with Charlotte Reescano were tough.  Both of these teams were fun.  Of course Silsbee may be the only team considered in SE Texas....sorry just had to.   The good thing is that there are a good amount of players to pick from and more to come.  and on a side note, I would take Viverette over Hall, but injuries did limit her success.  "She was as good an athlete that has come out of the Texas high schools," said UT coach Jody Conradt, who has recruited the state heavily for 28 years.  (quote in '98)
3. I think the new AD wants to do away with Baseball.  They just had a news story that they have removed over 50 bats from the high school. Oh wait...sorry.  It was not baseball bats, but the flying/biting kind.  My bad.  ;D
4. I think he passed me with a couple of miles to go but I was only running the 1/2.  5:30 per mile pace is awesome.  Anyone that remembers him running at LCM wouldn't be surprised.
5. Witherspoon went to West Sabine High School I think. Stallworth was good also.  She was a Kodak All-American like Witherspoon and Hall and they all went on to Lousianna Tech I think.
6. LaQuan Stallworth I think was the girl from Silsbee.  Would Theresa Witherspoon be considered from this area?  If so, she would be on top of the short list.
7. You are missing some details What is the score? What quarter is it? How much time is on the clock? Is it on my 1 yard line (with 99 yards to go after a bunch of false starts in a row)? What is the status of my contract? Is Kris Brown my kicker? What is the weather? Is it real or artificial turf?
8. My cousin's housekeeper's friend saw someone in line at Sonic and heard them talking on the phone and saying that there are no decisions yet.  There were a lot of 'sources' listening in at the time but since it was windy they each thought they heard something different.
9. Lane Kiffin says he is interested but he feels he owes USC at least a week of hard work before looking elsewhere.  ;D
10.

Hey Hill I saw you next opponent last night. They are very up and down. You should have an easy one to finish out the week. Good Luck
Thanks...they tend to get "up" to play us.  But they are meeting a BH team that should be plenty p'd off at their last performance, so kinda feel sorry for 'em!
HillGuy, they should be up after 2 down performances....and us fans demand a game that is not a 1 point game.  Tough on the ticker.  ;D
11.

Barbers Hill      60 Kingwood Park  59 Heck of game!
WOW! Sounds like a good one.  Big win for BH.  Hope the Evans girl had a good game.   ;D
Evans was all over the court and both teams got after it.  Jasmine Carter got hot and hit some good shots and Evans, Silva and the defense got the stops when it counted.
12.
This is posted on the front page of BHISD website. • Sports Offered: • Athletic State Championships: Football—1971 (co-champs), 1976 Girls Basketball—1982, 1983, 1997 Boys Track—1935, 1956 • Additional football success:  (Barbers Hill was too small to compete for state championship) Bi-district champions:  1940, 1941 Regional Champions:  1954, 1955, 1956, 1962, 1963 There seems to be quite a bit of missing information in some of the sports.   Football has more than 2 bi-district championships.  I am embarrassed for BH that the information on their site is wrong, they should be embarrassed as well.  And what does (football was too small to compete for a state championship) mean?
I think in the early 40's, bi-district was as far as we could go that is why it is listed.  I think one of those teams allowed less than 7 points the entire year. As far as playoffs we have made it 33 times from what I was able to find on Texas football sight.  (Dayton has 25 appearances and Crosby 20) 1940, 41, 43, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 62, 63, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 79, 80, 81, 87, 88, 89, 92, 99, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006
13. Wow, It doesn't happen often where our girls lose before our boys (especially back when I played).  Hopefully it's going to be a good playoff season for both.   These guys are hard workers.  Good luck to Toon and the boys team in the tournament this weekend.
14. Great job Cougars....especially since many on here back in September didn't even think you would make the playoffs after starting 0-2.
15. Congrats coach.  I look forward to seeing them in Austin in the Spring also.
16. Gilbert is awesome. Her dad and mom played at A&M I think.  Her daddy (Jimmy?) was from Huntsville if I remember right.  Karla was a terror in Little Dribblers growing up as I remember her playing at Nationals and easily winning when we hosted it.
17.
Thanks PhatMack19 for helping those of us that aren't at the game.  Go Eagles....time for a long drive
18. I was able to vote twice....one in Internet Explorer browser and one with Firefox browser....
19. if you have a few minutes away from trying to get 5000 posts on the PNG topic... Our BH own, Matthew Viverette has been nominated for top 4A Offensive Player for the Houston Gridiron Award.  Please vote for him.  He has had a great season this year.  This link will allow you to vote for Matthew Viverette & others. The winners play in an all-star game. [Hidden Content] good luck to Matthew on this and on Friday night.
20. Congrats coach.  and congrats to all of these athletes.  They put on a great show up at Round Rock. Go luck and bring home some hardware.
21.

bh will always own dayton!
Until Price is gone the only thing BH will own is a brand new Sonic on Eagle Drive.
Okay...don't bring our new fine eating establishment into this discussion.
