1.

Just curious, should Coach Kyle be worried that when she wakes up tomorrow that she will have a for sale sign in her front yard. Similar results to last year's coach. Same results different coach.
Not even close to the same scenerio as last year...BH girls basketball took a major leap for the better under this new coaching staff....changes should have been made 6 years ago!
You are right it is not the same, but it's also not a major leap.  The folks posting sales signs had kids that graduated last year and would of probably done it again.  You will always have folks upset with coaches when little Susie or Johnny doesn't get the right playing time.  We had some mad at Rivers and Hall even when they took us to titles. To have a leap, we need to improve on wins, participation within program and get the spirit back. The spirit seems to be almost back and now we will need to get the numbers back up in the program.  I think Kyle-Martin can get us there and the community needs to be behind her.  A special thanks to the Seniors.  It's been fun watching them grow up from when they were in Little Dribblers.  We have a good core coming back next year and hopefully we will be able to have another run at it.  Good Luck to Ozen.
2. For regular season games they do have Double Daves Pizza Rolls and Chick Fil A sandwiches so I can put up with the air not being on.
3.
Does this sort of thing even come up at Orangefield or Hardin Jeff, or Barbers Hill?  Seems like the players actually LIKE their coaches at the more successful programs.
Yes it comes up at Barbers Hill and at many programs, whether they are successful or not.
4. Barbers Hill vs Brenham at Cy Ridge HS gym Thu Feb 17, 7:00 PM
5. [Hidden Content]; has their list of top 25 Juniors.  They have Spears from Bullard at 25 and Shaw from BH at 23 Carrington seemed a little sluggish when I saw her last, but that may of been her leg.  When healthy she can play.  Booker is quick and any coach would want her.  Hopefully a few of these teams get some deep playoff runs and get more recognition to help them when they graduate next year and hopefully extend their career.
6. It is where you have a 'charge' call by one ref and a 'block' call by another ref.  Refs usually come together and discuss.  Out of that discussion they can come to an agreement of one of the 2 calls or if they feel there was not a definite charge or block they have a double personal foul which is a personal foul on each player and possession goes to the team based on possession arrow.  It does not happen very often as usually during the discussion they come out with a definite call.  This is one of those times you end up ticking off both coaches.
7. long range forecast looks good for it with starting temps in upper 40's.  My daughter is running it for her first time at 17.  Should be some good times with the nice weather and flat course.  I think 2:07 won it last year so there should be a few down around 2:10 going for the 35K+ prize.  I just hope my daughter survives.  She has done the half 3 times.
8. Hill wins.  Crosby came to play and it was tied at half time but BH pulled away and won by 20+.
9.
Mike Simpson is as good at training young officials as anyone could be, unfortunately there aren't alot of mentors like they used to be.You also have several guys calling games now that don't get into any kind of shape before the season starts.I do have one pet peeve that I saw in the HJ/Silsbee girls game last week,it was inbounding a dead ball. The crew which was an experienced one, constantly let the girls with the ball move on the sideline and the base line,on made baskets you can run the baseline on dead ball spots this is a turnover.Overall the officiating I've seen this year has been pretty good.
Mike is a good trainer and many of the chapters have good mentors, but that list seems to be getting smaller as the overall need for officials is increasing.  and how much were they letting the girls move on the sideline?  The designated throw in spot is 3 foot wide, and movement beyond that is really easy to see.
10. wow, that is a long layoff.  It's tough enough for those teams that miss one week.  Hopefully the first district game isn't against one of the top teams.
11. Game canceled due to players not being ready to return to action from bus crash.  Coach Chancellor is hoping to make up game at a different time.
12. Rankings are definitely not an exact science for High School but at least these 3 teams are getting some well deserved recognition.  I haven't seen Central yet but the other 2 teams are strong.  Should make for some good district games as they may beat up on each other a little.
13. Thoughts and prayers go out.  Bus accidents are always scary. story is a little off.  It was Varsity team and they were in the Livingston tournament.  Coach said this morning they were sore but okay.
14. It's being played at BH on Friday night.
15. Dayton is ranked ahead of Barbers Hill and the rankings never lie ;)  Dayton does have some hard working girls so it should be a good game.  Good luck to both teams.

18. Should be a good game.  Coach English will have Nederland ready and I think the Eagles are ready to jump start their season under Coach Lee.
19. Congrats to BH on first year with new coach.  Congrats and good luck to PNG in the next round.
20. Hopefully it's a full house and a good game.
21. Huffman (had top 3 runners) and Bridge City girls advance to state.  Congrats.....to both.  Both Huffman and Bridge City boys also advanced. BH girls finish the year with a 4th place finish. Layne Smith ran a great race for Nederland but just finished out of top ten for a trip to state.
22. Good Luck to all the area teams and individuals at Regionals.  It's going to be cold, but at least it will be dry.
23. From the Chronicle, Nac had to beat Jacksonville by eight or more points to keep their playoff hopes alive.  The loss now eliminates Nacogdoches from postseason contention.
