1.
This is getting ugly quick, proves 4 playoffs teams is too many. ::) What was you thinking UIL?
Solo, That just about sums it up......  :-[  I remember a few years back when this district had three teams in the top 20(Ozen,Central & Livingston). I can see having three teams make the playoffs when you have a district that strong. Four is pushing it to expect to have a competative game between a 1st place team and a fourth place team. Congrats to the other 20-4A teams. Ozen, Central and Vidor all advanced!
 2.

Although most will say these warm-up games mean nothing, I think they can be a huge swing mentally going into the playoff game depending on how you play in this game. So, even though the game means nothing...I have seen both teams and played both teams and I expect Lumberton to win even though Evadale sports a much better record.
sometimes what you expect isnt what you always get. ;) 48-38 Evadale Final (30-3)
Congrats to Evadale!  94feet, You obviously took offense to my expectation of a Lumberton win, but I still stand behind my opinions even AFTER the Evadale win.  My thoughts are absolutely in no way meant to downplay the efforts, skills, or accomplishments of the Lady Rebels...I just can't figure out the Raiders.  I am not a Lumberton follower, but am still baffeled at how L-town can sport one of the most successful little dribblers programs, dominate the junior high scene, and then fizzle at the varsity level.  Many point at the coaching, but I'm not sure and just can't put my finger on it.
Slam, I'm still baffled too  ;D It is no secret. Lumberton has not had the same coach for more than two years in row for the last five years. As a result, there is no "program" to speak of like you see at schools where there have been long tenured coaches. Coaches that implement their coaching philosophy at the jr high level. While Lumerton has squeeked out the fourth spot in an eight team district  ;D for the second year in a row, there is much improvement to made. You may have noticed comments on this site thoughout the season that go something like this..."I don't what kind of offense Lumberton was running" "It looked like a bunch of individuals out there" "Not a team" "No half time adjustments" and so on. Comments made by others, not me. I don't usually have negative things to say on here and I hope this is taken in the light that is a forum to post opinions. We are fortunate to have some talented girls that basically take the game on their shoulders. Our coach is content to set on the bench during the entire practice sipping on a fountain drink while the teams runs through a series of drills. Not good in my opinion  ;)
 3.
It was an entertaining game to watch and the paper did not lie. LCM came to play and flat outplayed the Raiders, they set up the game with an aggressive defense which really put the Raiders on their heels forcing 13 turnovers. In response the Raiders played a lot of individual basketball (I couldn't tell what kind of offense they were even running). One person would get the ball and try to drive and in response the Bears would block the lane forcing a highly contested shot from the Raiders. The Bears did well on offense as well working the ball around and scoring even on contested shots. The Raiders were out coached in my opinion. By that I mean Goad made no adjustments throughout the entire game. Mainly staying in a passive 2-3 zone which gave the Bears too many easy shots from the field. Nothing was really done about the lack of an offense throughout the night by the Raiders as well. Another heavy blow was sophomore scoring and defensive leader number 1 receiving three fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game, and then sitting until the third where she quickly received a 4th and fouled out early in the 4th (she played maybe 12 minutes of the game at most). In my opinion two fouls were warranted three were not. Number 10 also fouled out which hurt as well. I will say the Lady Raiders did a good job shooting to keep themselves in the game. I hate to see that they have lagged off so bad since starting 12-1 beating teams like Port Arthur and Westbrook but in my opinion, until the Raiders get a coach who actually knows how to coach they will have a hard time winning. Overall the Bears were better coached and played a better game last night. Great job LCM.
I agree Texan Fan.
 4. It was a very impressive display of a well coached team playing together. Vidor looked sharp and well prepared. You gotta give credit where credit is due.  ;) Maybe Lumberton will be better prepared for the next game.  ;D

You abviously think pretty highly of yourself. It's also not a good thing to sit in judgement. What I can tell you and anyone else that is reading this thread, is this. I have witnessed the traveling Ozen circus. The "bow tie wearing" water boys, the actions of the assistant coach, the head coach coaching from the stands while the freshmen and jv are playing and so on.... The taunting during the games by the water boys that sit in the stands right behind the players bench amking fun of the opposing team's players. All the while, the head coach just looks back at them with amusement. So you want to talk about KARMA..... I said earlier in the season that I was proud of the fact we (20 4-A) had the number 1 team in state. I would have been proud for them to win the whole thing. My girls have played select with some of the girls from Ozen. I agree that the signs were not a good idea. I'm sure the BH coach will address it. I didnt see any sign of poor sportsmanship we BH beat us in the first round. Good LUCK BH!
Its obvious you're a kid in the Lumberton school system so I will excuse your lack of understanding...However, in your opening sentence you say that I must think pretty highly of myself, which had NOTHING to do with anything, then you say I am being "judgemental"....BUT you agree that the signs were not a good idea in the end of your rant... ??? ???...Note to LISD: get a hold of your students, and get them off of those computers and TEACH them...PLEASE.. ::)...Go back to class son, and out of that computer lab!! ;)
No Dick. Not a student here. If you read my post , I stated that my girls(daughters) have played with girls from Ozen. And yes, If I used the name of a well known college basketball analyst, one might get the impression that I thought highly of myself or expected people to respect my baskeball opinions. I do get it. I simply gave you examples of what I have witnessed this season.

 7. Where is the Woodville vs Hardin game going to be played and what time? I have been to the last two games between these two teams. Might as well make three in a row. Maybe the third time will be in Woodville's favor.
 8.

Coach Jacks didn't get a tech his assistant did for getting up off the bench and clapping, only one coach is allowed up. It was a dumb call though. The game shouldn't necessarily be judged by the final score it was within single digits most of the game an Vidor got ahead a few times, basically the problem is depth on the bench, Dayton simply had more depth and the Vidor girls got tired there in the fourth.
Pretty much nailed it right here. But dayton fought hard and deserved the win. Congrats. Vidor should definitely make some noise next year since they only lose one starter and have some good freshman coming up. We just need that big girl inside and we'll be set.
Hey Slam.... I'm not one to stir things up. Especially at the end of the season. Maybe we should let Ol VP in on a little secret. L-Town and LCM are returning some young talent next year too  ;D
 9. HillGuy, it was RAINING 3s at East Chambers last night! We hit a few as well. We have some young talent coming up. Our gaurds are both Freshmen. I also saw that #3 was a Freshman on your team.  I'll be watching to see how yall do in the post season. Good Luck!
 10. Congrats to the Lady Raiders! This did the one thing that needed to be done this season. They made the playoffs and ended a long post season drought. They gave the future Lady Raiders something to shoot for. To try and make it two years in a row. That's how traditions get started  ;) Congrats to BH! What a talented team. For those of you wondering..... BH took this win without pressing one single time. They have great talent coming off the bench as well. I wish BH luck in the rest of their post season games. My first time to see them play. Shaw and Evans are the real deal! And they have a whole team of talented girls to go with them. A team doesn't have that many girls that can drain the 3 by accident  ;D  And it doesn't happen by just practicing for a couple of hours at school. Good Luck BH!
 11. Not a big surprise. When you understand how close Dayton played BH in there district games and appreciate the level that BH plays, this should not be a surprise. Congrats to both teams! I think Dayton could make some noise.
 12. The Lumbeton JV went 11-3 in District. Their loses were to Ozen twice and one to PNG  ::)  Not sure but I believe that would place Lumberton JV second in District. They only lost 5 games all season. Three of them were to Ozen.  ;D
