I can just give you my opinion from strickly a football person with no interest in band or any understanding or association of band.  I have witnessed both styles alot.  When I watch Central or Ozen I am entertained and usually watch the whole show. 
 
I say congratulation to the schools that use halftime to practice their marches and UIL competetion and get 1 and 2's.. but from just a fan of football that is not entertaining and I can not name one school that got 1's or won that competetion or however they compete?  but i can remember the last time i watched central band and can even tell you which songs they played.

nice post as always!   glad to hear from ya finally.  I was hoping we could draw you out of hiding.   I dont think Neece lets them overlook anyone, he will keep them focused.  (esp kountze, they want that one!)

I am a bit confused about what was said about Morse. I shot the entire game. 5 drops, 1 ball thrown out of bounds on a scramble and another that he should've been sacked or called for grounding. I looked again and didn't see many underthrown balls. WB did sub in the 2nd quarter trying to get another QB experience and it showed. On the other hand Cropper fumbled the first handoff of the game before settling down. Holes were being made and I believe Halfin could've broken at least a couple if he played. West Brook as usual has a solid receiving unit and Essex was on. What the Bruins lacked when the backup QB was in they made up with the running game. Also I'll never understand pass interference being called in the end zone when the ball in uncatchable 5-10 yards out of bounds. It's just a scrimmage. Both teams got what they needed out of it. West Brook faced a solid passing attack that they'll see in the 6A ranks during the playoffs. And PNG got great experience for their line against a bigger opponent for the second week in a row.

You should probably try to freshen your view on the scene. This is 500+ comments and over a month and a half later. Things change all the time in football and very rarely are predictions 100% accurate.

He sees talent at ozen? Really??? Hey captain obvious...theres al ways been talent at Ozen. Coaching is the elusive creature they are looking for!!!

Team A shows up to "win" the scrimmage,  they open up the playbook, they go all out,  coach dont call the plays he needs to work on but calls the plays and adjust to the play calling of the opposing coach.  They lose two starters to pulled muscles and the QB breaks his hands trying to dive into the endzone but they do score 5 TD's  
 
 
Team B  Coach lines his players up, run it like a practice, calls the plays he thinks his guys need to see and work on those plays, gets the starters some reps but more importantly gets the new guys and back ups some play time and learning who fits and who dont.  They only score 1 TD but they all walk away healthy and he walks away knowing where he stands and what needs to happen now. 
 
Team A scored 5 TD and Team B only scored 1 TD, however the score board was never even turned on...tell me again who wins this scrimmage?
