This game seems identical to the 2008 game.  nederland had a very high powered offense featuring Grogan, Bellows, and Selenga (either him or Brady). We started off not to hot in district.  We just came off a loss to Livingston and a beat down to West Brook.  Everyone picked us to lose.  We held that high powered Bulldog team to their season low of 10 points while we scored 20.  That was a running Central team that ran downhill right at them with no real big name backs with a QB that threw only a few times a game. I know that this Central team ended up going 4 rounds deep in the playoffs, but early inthe season and in district, they appeared to look mediocre at best, just like this Central team.

Will do, Razor. I've gotten a short phone call conversation from a long time friend of mine from Nederland that this is the best defense that he's seen in a while and that NO team will be able to run downhill on this front 4, including Central.  All I say is Wow.  I would love to see how this game goes.  States that they want to force the game in the hands of our QB.  Well, sounds like a plan, but we won't get to that senerio IF the running is not stopped.  This is fresh off a 200+ yard performance from Carter from Central only after 1 week of the instalation of the new offense.  Man, Friday is not getting  here fast enough!

I think Vidor executed down the stretch and I think Ozen fell in love with the running game too early when everyone knows that their bread and butter is the passing game.  I think that Trey's decision to pass on that elusive scramble wasn't good, especially since he only had 4 yards to the first down with the sidelines there. And I think that No way is your staff not ready for a Vidor pass that late in the game and no way the kid picks up all those yards after the catch.  Sorry to say, it may be a case of out coached...

I was at this game, 3, and it seems that Vidors D did a pretty good job.  Their O Kept your O off the firld and held your drive on that second to last possession and the last possession. I would like to hear your honest take on this game...  One beaumont guy to another Beaumont guy.

[/quote]Here's the old 'you lost to them who we've beat' thing.  Our Young defense have been coming together as well, considering the beating we've taken at the hands of PA Memorial.  The Livingston game may have been a little exaggerated as our players were demoralized when they seen the Star QB injured and brought to the ambulance, and then saw him crying on the sidelines when the coaches told him that he may not play again this year.  Since then, we have regrouped (staff included).  We're running an offense to fit the personal and are back to playing Jag football on defense (not good for Nederland).  I don't think this will be easy.  This nederland front 4, I'm hearing, may be the best that we've faced.  We'll be ready for it, though.

Have Nederland scored over 30 points on anyone this year?  You're a defensive team.  Hang your hat on defense, not offense.

That was the 2007 football season.  Central stunk up the place...  The score was like 38-3 @ halftime.  We held Ned to 3 points in the second half and we scored some points to keep it interesting.

It's how you finish.  We did finish games well last year, so the Nederland win wasn't an isolated incident.

Based off the fact that this is a rivalry, the score won't be lopsided.  Infact, the Bears will come to play... LC-M - 21 Vidor - 35 There will be a late Pirate TD.

What people don't realize is that Central may have finally found their identity.. They were playing CENTRAL Football finally.  They scrapped the other 'balogna' that we were doing.  Friday, we played in your face defense with 2 INTs (one called back for a phantom personal foul), and we had forced a few turnovers along with hard hits.  As a Jag fan, what else can you as for?  The backup QB made minimal mistakes.  Big Ned, on the other hand have been playing great.  Now, yall's stats don't jump out as far as offense, but this may be one of the better defenses that we've faced (with the exception of Memorial).  They are disciplined, wrap up, and are not intimidated by the oposing team's speed.  I remember Nederland's 'young guns' from defense last year and they were pretty salty.  A year later, I expect them to be bigger and stronger.  With everything being said, this game can hinge either way, but based on the fact that historically Central (even weak Central teams) does own Nederland in the altime series...
