Hey Soulja, you like my optimism?  ;D I'm trying a new thing this week. Instead of looking at all the things we do wrong. I've decided to look at all the good things we do. Hopefully, it will pay off. Hopefully, I will still have all my hair after this game and hadn't pulled it all out! :D

We've got some speedsters as well. ;) Not to mention, it's been my experience that when an offense is built around one person, especially a RB.....when you shut him down, you increase your chances of winning exponentially!

OK, thats great and all....but it looks like that kid is their whole offense. Granted, he's probably gonna get his, and we're probably not going to be able to completely shut him down. But if our D can limit his yardage, I think we can beat this team. I think they are gonna have a harder time stopping our O than we are stopping theirs. It might turn into a shootout, but I think we can keep pace with them. I must say this....I was really impressed with the offensive playcalling in the Dobie game. Stump was spreading it out pretty good. Some misdirection plays, and alot of mixed up pass/run plays. If that kind of playcalling carries over to the Pearland game, then WB is gonna be tough to beat. For me to be this optimistic going into a game as important as this, you know I must like our chances. ;D

Here is Pearland's schedule this season. No common opponents in this one. Houston Madison (6-4)      W    35-14 FB Kempner (5-5)              W    41-27 Houston Memorial (5-5)      W    49-42 Clear Springs  (8-2)          W    40-38 Clear Lake (4-6)                W    35-18 Dickinson (5-5)                W    44-31 Clear Creek (7-3)              W    35-28 Brazoswood (4-6)              W    27-23 Clear Brook (5-5)              W    48-25 Alvin (1-9)                        W    62-23 FB Kempner                      W    28-13 Looks to me like if our D steps up and makes some stops, WB can beat this team. They have made their way by simply outscoring their opponents. Teams with winning records against them, have played them really close. I like WB's chances in this game.

This is what I've been told about Pearland: Oilers defense isn't their strong suit. Great offense with RB and QB. WB should be able to eat them up with the passing game and get enough yards on the ground to keep them honest. Their district seems to focus heavily on outscoring rather than stopping...you guys have a great chance if you bring your typical D. All 21-5A games will be basically offense vs defense matchups.
