1. R, if you'll re read my post, I said there were talks of laying off teachers in BISD. I didn't say it had happened. But look at it from a perception point of view. It wouldn't help BISD's image, as a whole, for a district with arguably the highest paid Sup in the state to begin laying off teachers because of a budget shortfall. Do you see where some people might have a bad taste in their mouth regarding this subject? Sorry, I'm just pointing out something I thought would be plainly obvious for folks to see.
2. What makes his salary relevant, is because there are talks of BISD laying off some educators and teachers. Any normal and prudent person would give himself a pay cut to save teacher jobs.
3. The Vikings are a good fit for Bruce. He will do well up there.
4. Well, PN-G is 0-8 lifetime against West Brook. Nederland gave WB fits a few years ago, pre-Stump, but WB smoked them in Stumps first year. PAM is 0-5 against Stump in the last 5 years. What WB couldn't get done, Central and Ozen would surely be there to take care of the clean up. 'Nuff said!
5. Here is the 5A list. Not sure about the smaller classifications. [Hidden Content]
6.
This is not straightforward and some people that are putting out info don't have experience at reading blueprints. According to a committee member, one that helped form the bond, many were dead set against "anything athletic" (Butch stadium, New athlectic facilities, etc) So, instead of due diligence being placed on the specific "fieldhouse needs" this campus vs that campus, the line item of 1.6mil was placed in Bond, but all knew that many were opposed to "anything" athlectic so details were "not" looked at. Now in hindsight, we have on 1.6 predicated to accomplishing fairness (balance) what can not be accomplished at the WB campus. IMO the WB Fieldhouse needs about 2.5m to accomplish program needs. The 1.6, IMO, will accomplish Central's needs because the program is smaller. Sources say that the same people that wanted "nothing athletic" now want to discuss "the fieldhouse" in hindsight after a surplus has been announced. Last week we had a meeting and before leaving we called another one at WB tonight. You wanna know how many showed up. TWO counting me! I also have the dwgs, and I have been to the current facilities and counted toilets, urinals, showers, etc. IMO WB would not be well served to have the renovation plans set forth for 1.6m to be carried out. At this time, after the Bond has been approved, after we now are concerned about athletics, we need to move forward and attempt to present the case with solid evidence. The board has the right to do with the 10m what they want, like it or not. I suggest we present facts and let them speak for themselves. In the end I believe we can win the arguement. IMO the renovation to WB field house violates some code issues. I have a comparrison of every fieldhouse sq footage and contents, anyone is welcome to have it.
Very well said. It's very disappointing that WB doesn't have more support for it's student-athletes. They definitely, IMO, need a bigger, better, larger facility due to the numbers in the program. Coach Chip has been in that field house since WB opened in 1982. All you have to do is look at the team accomplishments on the ceiling beams in the locker room. Anyway, it's time for WB to get some of the same nice facilities that Ozen has. Admittedly, Ozen is definitely Thomas' darling. PopaBlu, next time they call a meeting, even though I dont have a kid at WB, let me know and i'll show up and give my support for the team and the program. Its time BISD put forth the money so WB and Central can step into the 21st century, from a facility standpoint.
7.

Scooter stump will outcoach them clowns again like he always does, i wont b hitting that highway like i did last year, if we had stump, memorial wouldve won state with ease the bracket was set up 4 us.
I'd have to give it to Houston Memorial...they did a good job last year, but Pearland by far had the best coaching/prep last year
Yes they did. They were by far the best team we faced last season, and were well prepared for what WB brought to the table. They made us look bad. At first, I was hard on our coaching staff for not having us prepared for that game. But, we did as well as we could against Pearland. At the time, I didn't realize just how good Pearland was.
8.
Different ball game when you go to P.A.  ;)
Scoot, can you say 0-7 against another Stump team? lol!
9.
So you think Lil Stump will lead you guys to the promise land?
:D
10.
There will be a quality backup QB. The name may surprise you.
Why dont you clue us in, since you seem to be privy to vital information on our football team. I would love to hear some good news.
11. Come on, man. You really dont want to hear what I think about that potential situation....and I dont want to open that can of worms again. We'll just have to see how next season plays out. Believe me when I tell you, that I dont want to say "I told you, so." I hope I'm wrong about my gut feeling.
12. No comment on the QB situation. Our offense has to be able to hold on to the football and score points for us to be relevant. Katy will roll, either way.
13. Has anybody heard where WB QB Bruce Reyes might be going?
14.
Thats a new trend. Its happening more and more across the country. It would not surprise me if other designs and even photos are used instead of loud solid colors like red. I would not be surprised to see BISD have a gigantic image of Carrol Thomas superimposed on the turf of the "support center".  ::) ::) ::)
LMAO! So true!
15. I'd like to see Pearland win it for Region 3.
16. Congrats Pearland. GO win it!!!!
17. Nice video, Sarge. He will be missed next year, but I look forward to watching him play on Saturdays.
18. Congrats to all that made the team. Your hard work didn't go unnoticed.

I'll stay on this side of the Trinity.
20. I was wrong in my synopsis of Pearland. They are, apparently, much better than I anticipated. The sad part is, I still thought we had the talent to beat them. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking that. Maybe I was wrong for voicing my frustrated opinion in regards to the game. But, it is what it is. My opinion of our coaching staff has changed somewhat over the past year. I had more faith in them coming into this season. But now, I'm left with more questions than answers. I'm wondering if they are the right group to take us to the next level. I mean, lets be honest...do you guys think we lived up to our expectations coming into this season? I dont. Just sayin'. Obviously, Pearland is where we want to be. Right or wrong? But KUDOS to the Oilers anyways, they did what I thought would be impossible and I was wrong in my prediction. Good luck to the Oilers the rest of the way. And for all you naysayers out there, Im still going to support my team....win or lose. I'm just going to be alot more selective about what I say to some of you, in the future. See ya in '11.
21. That '82 WB team had 3 starters from Forest Park. There were more than that. Keith Zoch, Burnice Wilson, and Johnny Norwood are the onle three that come to mind, but there were more than that.
