  1. Silsbee played there twice last year in the playoffs. They played Scarbough and Wheatley there. Very nice gym.
  2. Willie is 3 years older than me. He was very smart in school and a big heart off the court. I was good friends with him and DD Taylor. He was all district in baseball, football, and baseball.
  3. Only Patterson back.
  4. I think HJ pulls it out by 5 . Hopefully Parquet plays again and gives some good minutes.
  5. Silsbee has had a lot of suppose too teams. 08/09- Lost to Jasper Regionals 10/12 Lost to Sealy 2nd round 12-14 Lost to Yates 3rd round 14/15 Lost to Sterling Region Finals Show up to play EVERY night. Silsbee is known for being upset and falling short in the playoff. Silsbee is the regular season champion every year but not state champ.
  6. Almost everyone who came thru Silsbee in the late 80s and 90s played Little Dribblers. That was out AAU back then.it use to be some very intense games on those Saturday mornings.
  7. Auto correct. Shout out to June June
  8. They have gone 5x I know. Never reaching the championship game.
  9. The 1994/95 team looked more like the 1992/93 Michigan Wolverines than a high school team. Those cats were big and super athletic.
  10. Trust me brother, I work in sales and it pays and is a lot better than sports broacasting. I still talk sports 24/7 and take a lot of clients to sporting events. Coming out of college I had a opportunity to work at CBS but the starting pay was struggle money and I couldn't do that and pay back student loans and live too.
  11. The two best Silsbee teams I saw play were the 1994/95 team lead by Damien Bush 6'0 Donyell Allen 6'3 Willie Jones 6'5 Russell Whitmore 6'6, AL Henry 6'1, and Tyrell Davis 6'3 with arms of a 6'9 player. They went 26-6. The next best was 1996/97. Thadyus Holden 6'0, Lewis Arline 6'6, Ricky Jackson 6'0, Edwin Elam 6'1, and Kerrion Cartwright at 6'3 (6'6 with his full afro). Jeremy Williams, Tramaine Arline, Frank Chaney, Ricky Kruff, Hugh Davis, Boo Boo, Andre Henry, and jj Taylor. This team went 12 deep. 31-1. Scored points in waves. Beat Lincoln, West Brook, Central, TJ, and Lufkin all by double digits.
  12. I think Central will pull it out by 4
  13. Read yesterday! Seems they want revenge. Silsbee will be ready!
  14. I'll take Silsbee 88-63
  15. HJ up 23-15 end of 1st
  16. Houston Furr is the other.
  17. Sterling has a 6'5 and and a 6'4 post. They are athletic but very young and turn the ball over alot. They had 25 or so vs Wheatley.
  18. If Silsbee and Wheatley both make it to the Region final, I would give the edge to Silsbee because of the depth. Playing a back to back in about 9hrs can be heavy for a team that goes 7 deep vs one that goes 10.
  19. Houston Sterling isn't near the same team they were last year. They have a 16-16 record and return like one starter from last year.
  20. Let's see if Silsbee can bring it on home. Lots of ball left. I'm excited to follow this year.
  21. I agree Silsbee has shot better. I'd prefer to see them shoot less 3 pointers. Remember you love and die by the 3 ball
  22. Devon and Jordyn need to start taking it to the rim and finishing. Also, Grubbs has the ability to do the same. We shoot far too many 3 pointers. 12/35 isn't good!
