The kid messed up along with the others involved but the barbaric nature of his blow is what has people so stirred up. Accept the punishment and in my eyes your slate is clean. I was disgusted with what Michael Vick had done with the dog fighting, but the man stepped up took his lumps and to this day I remain a fan not only of the athlete but of the man he became.

In my opinion this is a mistake and I fail to see how it will help this situation. If nothing is done those attending rally will be angry, if punishment is changed it undermines the system in a whole. The only thing this rally will accomplish is more divide among the area. 

What a lot of folks do not understand or will never understand, playing high school sports is not a right. It's a privilege. Two completely different things and rules, policies and discipline reflect those differences.

yes.  when the topic of the celina qb came up it was pretty unanimous across the board he should've been out for a long while.  that being said, the difference between what he did and what McCain did is that what McCain did could literally kill somebody.  now obviously that was not his intent, but to throw a haymaker from behind at someone much smaller than you who has no idea you're there is beyond dangerous.  As for the kid who threw the punch getting one game, he was involved in a fight with someone who was fighting back.  1 game is too light, IMO, but his situation and McCain's have zero correlation, and can't be compared. 

I saw the BC video also it is a no doubter. 
I was and still am all about this kid getting his punishment along with every other kid on that floor that was involved. Punishment has been dealt and in my book when punishment is served the kid has a clean slate. I hope he learns from this and has a successful career from there on out.  
He along with the town can grow from this incident or opt to let it drag them down, the very near future will tell us which way this will go.

Regardless of what was posted and not posted, what #3 from Silsbee is embarrassing to the not only the team,coach, and school, but also the town. His actions are absolutely disgraceful. A decision from the UIL should be irrelevant. The coach should suspended this kid for the year regardless, if he won't, the administration should. There is no way you can defend what he did or justify it with a worthless "rest of district" suspension. 

I don't care if the video started with Mike Tyson throwing the first blow, nothing justifies the sucker punch 50 feet from the squabble.  

So when BC doesn't post, it didn't happen. But when lcm post, it's why didn't they post more of it?

big difference between getting punched in the fray (on the playing field) as opposed to 50 feet away on the bench.

I agree wo-s#1 it is this exact excuse making mentality that could be the very reason they are in this mess to begin with.
 

Planned or not you do not blind side someone 50 feet from the fight. Also if you knew LCM was going to try and do it then that to me even shows less restraint on your part.

It's on video, I watched it personally from a bc film.

I've seen no one from LCM on here defending any actions at all by anyone from their community. Only apologies and regrets. Silsbee on the other hand is using everything they can to place blame else where. Like the guy posted earlier, if you have problems with everyone you play then you might want to look in the mirror. And no, it isn't because you are so awesome that everyone looses their mind when they play you. This area has had many basketball teams go to the state tournament. None were on probation for fighting (like Silsbee). None had players suspended for fighting (Silsbee will). None had confrontations with almost every opponent they play (like Silsbee does).
I too have seen the video. Let me be the first to defend the LCM kids. Get slapped in the face (which drew a technical foul at the time, no one is mentioning that, for those of you wondering who started it, might be the person who drew the first technical foul), then give a half slap in return that missed by 3 feet. Only to have the guy then throw a haymaker your way. Luckily a team mate stopped him from landing it. IMO I never saw an LCM player throw a "punch". #0 simple went in high to stop the kid from decking his team mate (did catch him in the face though). Then the Silsbee player threw another haymaker.
I won't even touch on what #3 from Silsbee did. Except to say he should probably be facing criminal charges, and if he suits up again for Silsbee the school should be embarrassed.

If I am going to Florida for vacation, the second my wheels hit the road heading there, I am on vacation.... According to UIL Baseball practice can officially begin today.
