  9. We are heading to CS for the JV game. I will post the scores.
  10. That's what I am taking about. Don't let anyone beat you. Make them earn every yard! Don't worry about what any haters say. Stay healthy, play smart and play with heart.
  11. I just don't want to see the Cat's quit. Play your game, take your licks and give some in return. I hate to see any team hang their heads on the sidelines. The only thing worse is when fans do it. It's tough starting out playing a tough team but it can be a valuable lesson for our young team win or lose. We have some real talent they just need some experience and confidence.
  12. We as Kirbyville fans have to set different expectations this season. I have talked to some of the key players and to say the least morale is low. Attitude reflex leadership and our leadership needs some positive feedback. Part of the problem is ALL they are hearing is how bad they suck compared to the past few years. How would you like to cut your teeth playing on a team that did well and then your senior year people turn negative because things look tough. I for one can enjoy a hard fought, tough, smashmouth football game and take loss. More exciting to see than a 76 to 0 blowout win. I know we all want to win and the Cat's want it more than any fan. I want them to have a good safe season with the young men on varsity showing the underclassmen how its done. We can not expect the team to hold their heads up and fight for a win if all the fans can talk about is how down they are. I will be backing the Cats to make the playoffs. If that doesnt work out I will back them to have a winning season. If that doesnt work out I will back them to complete a pass or make a first down. I just want to see them play with some heart and anyone that cant be a fan with some heart isnt a fan at all. Make a point to tell the boys your proud of them when you see them. They have heard enough of the negativity to last the season.  Show the haters what you're made of boys!
  13. Kirbyville did not look that bad. Silbee had it together and played very well. Kirbyville showed they have something to work with. If they work on offensive line a bit I think they will do as well as ever. Backfield looked strong and although I had heard that Red was a running Qb and could not really throw the ball that was WRONG he sure can! If anyone was looking for a drastic change in the Cats game plan they will be disapointed. Arron Breed may have graduated but his little brother was trying to jump right in to his shoes. The coaches were giving the new players a chance to show what they can do so I would not gauge this one by the lack of TDs. They were obviously looking to see who was going to step up. They know a lot more about what they 've got now and can tweek things as they see fit.
