  2. Will has done great all season but Sexton and Haywood and several others have been working hard too. Jacko can be a game changer but his shoulder keeps giving him trouble. I will say he has always gritted his teeth and toughed it out for his team. He deserves respect. Best of luck to the Cats and Diboll.
  3. I know this thread has pretty much covered it all but even if it is not a nation wide, NFL or college tradition to take a knee as a sign of concern or respect durring an injury. It is in this part of the world. PNG has a LIST of traditions that add nothing to and have nothing to do with football but they are important to their fans. I played both in south Texas and Arkansas and we always took a knee. A key player might talk to the coach but that was it. It is not a time out and they have even been cracking down on college "conveinent" injuries.

To continue to have the players, band, coaches and even cheerleaders go on as if nothing has happened shows a complete disregaurd for the injured player. They are supossed to be competitors not enemies. I know the golden rule does not mean a lot to some people today but it comes down to that. If a player gets hurt representing his home school he has earned some respect.

  7. Its not the loosing, we took our licks from Vidor, WOS, and Vidor and I would back any one of those teams tomorrow. As for Jasper. Trashy, and thats being nice. There was bad calls on both sides of the ball and I still dont know why Jasper did not get that kick because it looked to me like it was theirs so I am not just crying over a loss. Jasper has too much talent to play like that. And by the way, all I have heard this year about Jasper is how young they are. How many seniors were on the field tonight 22, 23??

  10. Why is it that the vast majority of negative, ignorrant and agrumentative comments come from people with only a couple of posts. Hey Pirateguy your team took more than a few licks in the past few seasons including one from a little team with only about 22 players on it. People talked alot of smack about yall then about what a horrible program you had and how the coach should be run out of town. The informed fans of Vidor stayed true to their team, players and coaches and LOW AND BEHOLD! Succsess! Great teams just dont happen overnight and most of us know that the losses only make the wins sweeter. Kirbyville fans are happy for the year the Pirates are having so take some notes from the classy fans over Vidor way. We all see how sharp you are now so look at your watch. Its not 4:20, turn your hat back on straight, pull your pants up, clean up your room and try not to embarass the grown foks. :o

  15. I can not deny some of your thoughts might be correct. 100 percent agree about the confidence. Adjustments need to be made but sometimes a change in spirit is the best of them all.

My question would be why don’t the people that get paid to notice things seem to be able to. For instance Haywood and Smith are both good backs, but they both need a little room to run and with our line leaking like a sieve at this point its just not happening. After the game I spoke to one of them and he said as soon as he touches the ball he is getting killed. Almost every play last week WOS runners had their hand on the shoulder of a lead blocker from one end of the field to the other. If we can not get that kind of blocking then find a way to get them out in the open because either one of them is more than capable of moving the ball. Get them some wiggle room and see what happens. Returning kicks is an art form as far as I am concerned and once a player gets the dropsys it becomes a mental issue some players just cant handle. Sexton has not muffed one yet. He picks one off the ground in full stride and runs with conviction. Why would you want anyone but him returning your kicks unless they re hiding someone we haven’t seen yet. If a player drops one pat him on the butt and tell him it's OK. If he drops 3 you have an issue. #33 is almost always good for 5 yards even if its obvious its going to him. So why is it we end up running some off tackle junk or corner to corner, east to west even when a first down is close. Why is it when he gets it in the red zone they pull him and change things up????Up the middle with Lil Will aint fancy but like my Daddy told me eager beat pretty every time. Make them try to stop him and use the threat of him to open up the pass. Can someone tell me if the UIL still allows you to throw the ball less than 30 yards. If there is a rule against it I would sure like to know about it and if there isn’t the coaches sure need to know about it. It makes for a great highlight clip hauling one in surrounded by coverage but the outcome more likely than not is a wasted down or an interception. If you only do two things right you can win just about any game. BLOCKING AND TACKLING. Standing in someones way is not blocking and throwing your shoulder at someones feet is not tackling. A few air raids will fix almost any penalty problem. To me its as simple as do what works until they stop you. Don’t continue to do what does not work. That is going to change every game against every team. No I am not a coach but I think this is reflective of what the majority of the fans are seeing. I support this team and I feel for the players who have it in them to be play makers and have not been able to. The Cats have the tools and if the right adjustments are made they will be fine in district. I know my opinion doesnt mean squat and the coach is going to do what he feels is best. I am just voicing what I see and the best part is I dont get fired if I am wrong just smited.

We played Cold Spring but just got sprung We played Eagles and the plan came undone We went to Vidor and got in a pirate wreck Then BC Carninals beat us to heck On the road for Wills Point there was a glimer of hope Then back to Kville where the Mustangs said NOPE! But for those of us who have been faithful up in those stands District play has started and it will be grand First the Devils, then Jasper, then Center will fall Cause we're sick of this loosing Its time to play some ball!   20. First of all before the haters sound off, yes Kirbyville as a team has not done much this season. But any one that has played us has had to deal with #33 all night on both sides of the ball. Last night he had 111 yards on 12 carries. Those were not easy yards either. He is almost always good for at least a rumbling 5 yards even with 2 or 3 defenders on his back. He also kicks the ball, leads in tackles and catches passes. He has been to state twice and made third run at it and now his senior year he is the captain of a team that is down. He still has a positive attitude and gives it his all. Kirbyville is proud of you Will.

  22. For the Kirbyville fans that have been hearing talk of Burman playing I spoke to coach Neece last night and he will not. I also spoke to Will and he (and the rest of the team) want to get a win for the fans. The team still has a good attitude. The WOS game is always a good one and a win at home would be even better. Best of luck to both teams tonight.

  24. From the comments posted on this thread it looks like WOS has a few young immature fans that desperatley need something to crow about. Now I know this is a tough time in your life with the pimples, your voice starting to change and all the weird things going on with your body. I know yall want to be big tough men and finally whup up on someone so you can feel proud. Kirbyville has had a tough start just like your Stangs. Would you like your team to be disrespected because they have a losing record? Do you want your team disrespected because they have not met expectations? Pre season we were already hearing about WOS's state run. What happened to that? Reality sucks doesnt it! We should know we have had it pretty rough ourselves. The fact is WOS is most Kirbyville fans favorite game of the year. The past few years have made for some great match ups.  All of SETX has pulled for WOS and a few smack talking morons cant take away from the class, heart and determination the true WOS fans have shown.You still have Wildcat fans wearing 112% to everygame. I expect this years match up (although it might be two young teams) will not disapoint. If the Mustangs grow as team because of Fridays game and turn it around, good for them. We are trying to do the same. I wish them the best of luck for a great season but dont think the Cats are going to just lay down. They are looking for that W too. So you kiddies out there dont need to bet your allowance on a sure thing. Anything can happen on a given Friday night! Good luck to the Players and fans from WOS. ;D
