PAM has a better chance than LP because of the offense they run. You have to spread katy out and get them one on one in open space. I can't remember the last time Katy lost to a run first team.

'04 season losing to wishbone running Clear Lake in the regional finals....

Katy blows by La Porte, PAM blows by Hou Memorial to set up District 21-5A title game.
Hmmmmm Katy isn't in 21-5A....
Wow Really?

I know that...but they would have beaten NS, WB and LP going into a game with PAM.....use  your imagination
lol ok thought it might of been mistyped.... thought one thing... typed another... it happens... :)

  5. reminds me of Mayweather/Pacquioa....everyone..mostly hates Mayweather....and they just want to see him lose, no matter who he fights and ignore his strengths and weaknesses, just because "they hate him"....they want to see the more likeable guy win, but if you look at it...the fight is a mismatch...Pac-mans strength will be his weakness vs mayweather. LaPorte has a chance just like every other team....just like Pac-Man has a chance..but their Strength(running the ball) feeds right into Katy's strength(stopping the run), You need to spread Katy out to beat them....Woodlands 08, Cinco Ranch 08, Abilene 09, Pearland 10.....all had great Qb's and running games. Plus...Katy is playing a little bit of defense this year as well.....just saying

Katy has dominated pretty much everybody this season. Closest game they had was last week and they still won by 14. This reminds me of the season they went 16-0 with andre dean at rb. I just don't see anyone stopping them. They are probably the best team in the country. Sorry La Porte yall are about to run into the buzz saw that is the Katy Tigers.
People think that every year. The past two years someone has gotten in there to steal there trophy." They are who we thought they where." ( Denny Green Former Arizona Cardinals coach) Katy puts there pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. LaPorte will fight them pretty good. That Cy Woods team finished 3rd in district. So the next couple teams will be not be afraid to bring it to them.
That Cy_woods team was pretty dang good averaing 53 points a game....scored 21 offensive points. It's Football, if anyone is "scared"..they shouldnt be playing the game at all.
Cy woods avg 38 for the season and scored 30 points last week against Katy. I deal with facts plus they where shut out once this year.
53 since the QB change.
    21 offensive points against Katy
    Blocked PAT for 2
    Fumble recovery for 7

Defense wins championships.  LaPorte proves week in and week out that their defense is something to be reconed with.  They'll make life hard for Katy.  I know that LaPorte should be the big underdogs, but something tells me that this game will be different.  I have LaPort by an 8 point spread.
Honest question...do you think LP's d will be the best on the field Saturday? Why or Why not?

Played for Kenny when he was a assistant, excellent man, he is one of the best high school receivers to come out of PA. He is all for the kids and about the kids in Port Arthur, very rare you have one of your own coach that comes from your community and understand the kids in Port Arthur. As long as KH coaches for memorial the kids will always want to play for him. He knows how to motivate his team, we win this game then might be a Rematch from last years regional game PORT ARTHUR MEMORIAL VS HOUSTON MEMORIAL and I love our chances we have the entire team back from last year almost. Then with Win that game We will Have the Big SHOWDOWN TO GO TO STATE AGAINST THE ONE AND ONLY KATY TIGERS.
SO WE'VE TOTALLY WRITTEN OFF LA PORTE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
yeaaahhh....that's what it looks like. Everybody is "Katy Katy Katy"....if thats your GOAL you're already 7pts behind on the scoreboard. Don't look past Clear Springs. Channelview put up 44 on PAM...Clear Springs' offense is WAAAAAYYYY Better than Channelviews, better coached and they are actually capable of making stops.....dont look past them....or LaPorte.......Katy has their own issues to deal with first.

Is this possibly the best offense Memorial has ever had, from a scoring and statistical point?
Ozensfastest,

The other PAM team that comes to mind was when Jamaal Charles was a junior and they lost to Katy in the Astrodome.  In my opinion, the reason they lost to Katy was because the QB, Porterie, was taken out of the game towards the end of the second quarter, due to a suspected concussion.  Katy had no answer for PAM's passing game as they scored on their first 2 possessions via the airways.  Each touchdown, I believe, was over 50 yards.  The Katy DBs could not run with Memorial's receivers.  PAMs wideouts were both 6'2", or taller, and one weighed 200 lbs, and I think the other was around 190.

Bottomline, Porterie goes out before halftime and Jamaal Charles rushes for over 200 yards in a losing effort.  That team was explosive.
This was the game they lost 34-14 right?

Soo if seven lakes win Katy goes to D1 and they looses they go to D2
Seven Lakes usually plays Cinco close......and Cinco Ranch is supposed to be "down" this season. If they beat Cinco Ranch....there is a good chance they beat Strake Jesuit, Mayde Creek, and Katy Taylor.....if they grab one of the 4 playoff spots...Katy goes D2. Just a team to keep an eye on.

Lake Travis has agreed to play the #1 team in the nation next year....  Don Bosco Prep

What a game this will be!
If you got that info from 5ATexasfootball....it was a joke:
(AP) Lake Travis - the undisputed number one team in Texas for the past 12 years will play consensus National Champion Don Bosco Prep  to start the 2012 season.

"We're looking forward to playing somebody who might actually give us a game for a quarter or so." said new Lake Travis head coach Gary Generic. Generic is the fourth head coach at Lake Travis during the current 192 game winning streak. He was previously the head coach at Houston Sam Houston who's team won for the first time this year after he left the program. Sam Houston was 0 - 62 during Generic's coaching reign. "It's the players who win games" said ninth year starter junior receiver Deondre Jones "that and the coaches and fans and posters and everyone - its the program man - we're just magic"

Don Bosco head coach Vito Bentnose didn't lack for confidence either. Fresh from a recruiting trip that took him from Florida to California Bentnose said: "We have the best team money can buy!" Twelve year starter at line backer Vinnie "The Hit Man" Genovese agreed "Just because the Giants cut me after training camp doesn't mean I can't play me some good high school ball"

The two teams will meet in the inaugural Hype Bowl at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium - which will be officially renamed "The Lake Travis Freshman Stadium" before the game.

Oops...  I guess I should have looked into it more.  I saw the thread, but never read it.  Oh well, it would make for a great game.
Yeah I would love to see any top team from Texas play Bosco....I think they're over rated.
