  1. Yes. Not sure when the ticket booth open. Pretty much everyone I know have tickets in advance and just go line up.
  2. Gates open at 1...but there will be a line(on the Katy side) at Noon or maybe earlier
  3. Katy's Defense makes it hard to pick against them......unless they have a complete meltdown vs NS....I think they have the defense to win this game. Evans is a beast....and NS will be THE team to beat the next 3 years....but Katy's starting defense hasn't allowed a TD since Nov. 2nd. The goal every week is to not to hear the other teams fight song. Will be a great atmosphere. Can't wait.
  4. Going with my Tigers, but now way this game is a blowout. Will be an old fashioned dog fight. Katy's Defense is better than last seasons and They have Glass. I think the Defense rattles NS's Freshman QB in his first game at NRG....Why Katy was running sweeps from the 1 yard line vs NS last season still blows my mind.
  5. Jr Deondrick Glass.....recovering from ACL surgery and still not 100%....was on varsity as Freshman and soph, changed Jersey from 30 to #2....Yes....don't know what happened with him and Josh(#5) vs Cy-Ranch....neither turned the ball over all season and both put it on the turf multiple times vs Cy-Ranch...very unusual. And understandbly, Atascocita worked on stripping the ball. We were all scratching our heads because like I say....hadn't had a fumble all year.
  6. Usually every 3rd or 4th series....same as RB rotation between Glass and Olgesby....Bronson threw the 1st TD of the second half. [Hidden Content]
  7. Starter is a SR (#7 Austin Marshall) McClelland(Freshman #12, gets about 4-5 series a game)
  8. Just my two cents....it's hard to have a lights out D when you have a quick strike offense. You have to work together. If your Defense gives you a 3 and out....and the offense comes out throwing the ball deep......you're putting your defense right back on the field. You want those guys FRESH. I cant remember what year it was, Katy vs Manvel, but Manvel had 1 possesion the entire second half....Katy slowly pounded their defense to the ground to the fact that Manvel had to use timeouts because Defenders where taking too long to get off the ground. You need a complete system...Offense and Defense should be on the same game plan. Coach Joseph is a defensive minded coach.....You will always be succesfull if you play defense.....even without studs and having undersized players...Katy's Defense is usually pretty good...see 2008 and 2010. His philosopy is "reward your defense by letting them sit"
  9. A few more: Collin Wilder UH Jovanni Stewart West Virginia Corey Bethley TCU Ryder Anderson(brother of Rodney) Ole Miss Hayden Howerton SMU All making noise at the next level
  10. If you're on twitter you can get updates at @Katyfootball
  11. True, they' played I think 4 teams with a winning record: Stratford 7-3 Travis 7-3 Kempner 7-3 Bush 6-4
  12. Just one of those years where the balance of power shifted....
  13. Stars have finally lined up for Desoto to get a title......lets see if they can do it.
  14. Langham Creek's lack of D will get them.....they SHOULD get out of the first round this time....been a minute I think. Region 3 D2....Wide open is right, but "Not good" is another word. Anyone can win it, but I don't see anyone coming close to beating Steele win they make it out the region.
  15. Yep. I think it comes down to Atascocita and Ridge Point at the bottom half of the bracket. I also think Cy-Fair knocks off Lamar. 3rd round match up between Katy and North Shore is a possibility.....I would favor either over Ridge Point depending on how healthy the winner comes out of that battle.
  16. Ranch has typically been D2.....they had Keith Ford and faced Katy in the regional finals in 2012(After beating Manvel) and was Katy's toughest opponent last season with a good chance of knocking them off in round 2 this year
  17. I live in Cypress...every district game is important so most of the teams....all, not named Cy-Fair or Ranch...throw all the athletes on offense and try to outscore district opponents....they don't have the luxury of using non-district game to "Work on certain things". Most spread teams have horrible defenses(Woodlands have been the exception) To run a offense like Katy, Cy-Fair and Cy-Ranch....you NEED to play defense...defense first then a time consuming offense. Cy-Fair traditionally has been one of the top CFISD teams year in, year out...Since Cy-Ranch opened 7 years ago they have been two two regional title games and a State title game. Cy Ranch and Cy-fair like Katy....don't put all the playmakers on Offense and actually play good defense. Some other teams in CFISD: Jersey Village...FEWEST points they've given up this season is 35. Given up 58+ 4 times this season Cy-Springs....great offense but in 3 consecutive games gave up 73,72,62 Cy-Ranch and Cy-Fair are the only 2 teams in district that have allowed fewer than 200 points
  18. D2 is literally WIDE open without Katy...Friendswood is my sleeper.
  19. Cy-Ranch would get Katy 2nd round. Ridge point would get the winner of Cy-Fair and Lamar. I wouldn't call CFISD the "Best" district.....having only one non district game makes their games more important.....but not necessarily the best....Cy-Fair and Cy-Ranch are the only two non-spread teams and actually play defense so they have the best chance of getting past round 2 year in year out.
  20. Why was the West Brook/St. Thomas game so close? Honest question....I know you can't tell everything by just looking at Boxscores.
  21. Woodlands should win big.....however, West Brook can serve notice with a win...or even a close loss.
