Katy baby by 2 tds or more too much Brooks Hawks and Donovan Woods
Donovon Young is the back....big kid, 5'11 220 good speed, missed the Brook game last season. Looking at the Houston Chronicle they have a 6'1 185 pound Soph back who is pretty good also. Don't forget they shut down North Shore who has had some pretty good offense the last two games

Besides Homerism.....list the reasons WHY West Brook beats Katy.

    1. Its our house
    2. Its time for a reckoning
    3. They are on Da Brooks list of things to do
    4. We've got the talent to get er done
    5. Why NOT?

I'm pulling for West Brook to pull the unthinkable, but realisticlly the BEST defense they have faced is....OZEN who givs up 20 ppg, Central 33.3 and Ike a whopping 51.3 all 3 have a cmbined record of 2-7 with the 2 wins coming against Houston Sterling and Galveston Ball. Katy has played in 3 straight title games so I dont think the road game and big crowds will rattle them....This will be the toughest Defense WB will face and Katy has a pretty good secondary....Also, if Ike had success running the ball, Katy will also and use a lot of clock.  Not being negative, just wanted a realistic reason why West Brook wins besides.....the obvious reason being people WANTING them to win.

We talk about Katy, PAM, and who ever else we want to talk about....you want me to focus on IKE to cheer better?..I always perform....If I was a member of the football team, I'd be focused on IKE and not on any message board....My MIND IS ON TACOS right now, but I'm going to eat a burger....is that ok? ???.....

You get the point...we can discuss anything that follows the thread....If you feel you will cheer better by locking your self up in a closet and watching footage of Hurricane IKE, or videos from last year...that's all u my man...

It's two days til game day and 9 days til WB makes a life long memory for BMT and Katy! :o :o

Sgt.....if Ike pulls the unthinkable.........this thread could come back to haunt you! :)

Naaaa, WB isnt sneaking up on anyone this season, #7 in the state....at home.....WB is almost the favorite IMO.....

PAM would give Katy a game...........until 3rd or 4th qtr at this point in the season.
Get on board scooter!!! WB is gonna give Katy a ride they will never forget... :-*
i dont know man, Katy's offense is good
Nothing special about their offense, they just execute. Run at you and dare you to stop them and slowly wear you down. Looking at the videos I noticed their defense will give you the underneath passes all day....you have to be patient and not make mistakes with short passes all the way down the field...this will be a great game:

The thing is.....I refuse to believe Katy is THAT good or NS is THAT bad....I mean Katy will be good no doubt, but I will wait until this weekend before I make judgement. WB on the other hand, like everyone says should be making "Statements".....they return almost everyone, ranked high in some polls(not ranked in others, which is silly).....put it like this....Lets say Katy is the Univeristy of Texas....you know what you get, year in, year out....WB is the Houston Cougars.....high powered Offense...everyone is saying they could be BCS busters. They play 3 games before the UT game.....against 3 "lower tier" teams...lets say Grambling St.......North Texas....and then a respectable.....SMU. If you're an UH fan....you want to see scores like 56-0, 49-3.....BIG numbers against these schools......if you beat Grambling 28-3, North Texas 35-17.....you would be worried going into the UT game.
    Come on Bruins...run it up!
Thats a great analogy, and I would love to see WB beating teams by 40+ points. However, Stump is not the type of coach to run the score up on a team just for the heck of it. If he gets a comfortable lead and has the win in the bag, then he'll pull the starters and let the second teamers play. If the second teamers continue to put up points, then so be it. But he wont deliberately leave the starters in just to make a point. I believe he thinks that would be unsportsmanlike. But for the record, if we can run up the score, I say "run it up!"
Maybe run it up was the wrong choice of words. you dont want to wait until the big game to find out how good you are...or arent. Like I said earlier, it's hard for me to believe Katy is that good or NS is that bad. both have decent teams this weekend and I will wait until I see how they perform then.

  8. Don't sleep on North Shore.......I know a lot of teams are licking their chops now. They are not THAT bad, Katy may be THAT good. They have several players that could end up playing in their THRID straight title game...especially on defense. Their Defense is scary good. North Shore will bounce back......they need to drop the spread though and use their offensive line to their advantage.

It's Mike Matthews, Jake graduated. Elkins returns a lot of guys at the skilled postitions, but Jordan Jolly was their main offensive weapon last year. Burkhalter is the real deal, he went down with an injury in Week 7 I believe and Elkins put WR Jolly at QB for most of the snaps. They have a pretty good O-line, a Pro style QB, and return to quality QB's so I expect their passing game to be pretty good. The question mark is Defense, I think Dayton makes more stops than Elkins.....All of the Ft. Bend schools are loaded with athletes, it's coaching that holds them back.

    good post

    Typo...I meant two quality Wr's, not QB's

    Beat Katy....beat Cinco Ranch.....WIN Region 3!
thats a TALL task with the Katy schools.
Info from Katy's scrimmage:

The controlled portion finished 38-0 Katy. After the controlled portion, both teams spent a few minutes working on punting from the endzone before starting the live segment.

Katy won the live action quarter 10-0 (rolling clock). The night was concluded with some wind sprints for the Tigers.

Overall, a solid night of scrimmage action in my opinion. From what I could tell, there were no major injuries on Katy's side and that is always a huge plus. College Park had a few guys go down and hopefully they'll be OK. Grant Clifton crunched the first QB TWCP started with. It looked like it could have been ribs. Big time hit.

The defense was gashed a few times early on against the option. That was to be expected given you don't gameplan for a scrimmage. However, the defending improved as the night went on and College Park could not do much.

The #1 offense started with touchdowns on their first two drives of the scrimmage in the controlled portion. Katy established the run early with some powerful blocking and strong running. All of the running backs I saw tonight looked good (JV included). They all ran with purpose and hit creases with intent. The offensive line overpowered College Park and set the tempo for the night. Without being able to watch it back on film, I'd say the Hawgs can take some positives from tonight. The playaction game was also working well with Haack showing precision on almost all of his passes. There are 2 or 3 he'll want back, but definitely nothing to be ashamed of. I saw traditional Tiger offense mixed with some new wrinkles.

The overall quality of College Park is debatable, and next week will be an entirely different animal. I would say the Tigers accomplished most of what they wanted tonight. It was a positive first step in my opinion, and I am really excited to start the season.

Now that's a pretty good looking poll but I'd put WB ahead of NS.This site mentions #5 Katy Tigers sr.standout DE Nick Narcisse will miss this year w/a treatable form of throat cancer.Prayers out to this young man and may he be blessed w/healing.
DE Narcisse has gone through his last bit of treatment and is in remission from what ive heard.  He just needs the doctors ok to start playing football, don't be surprised to see him ont he field.
As of yesterday, he was cleared. Missed two a days but will put on the pads Monday. Will take some time to get back to full speed, Ironically, his target return will be after the bye week when Katy plays West Brook.
