Prayers go up for Ty Dennis kvilles starting RB he's getting carted off by stretcher 

It almost time! I passed the field and the end zones were getting a fresh coat of Wildcat Spirit! The Kirbyville Cats will be at home to take on Bridgecity. Jackson Gore is back under center for the Cats with experience and a ton of offensive weapons likeTy Dennis, Darian Ballard and Pat Beaty in the backfield with speed and cuts that put points on the board. It's not a question of which one will one have a 1000 yard plus season, it's will all 3? Jaylan Dennis and Devin Tyler have spent a lot of time pre season spread out wide on opposite sides of the field and if a defense makes the mistake of thinking Kville only keeps the ball on the ground those two can show them how wrong they are! Gore made some awesome completions to Devin last year including a clutch catch in the playoffs where Tyler broke his leg but still held on to the ball. Expect nothing less than the same effort this year from the deep threat specialist. Tyler Martin(all state) Trent Smith and Tyandre Cooper are just three of the big men upfront putting in the grunt work. If you haven't seen TyAndre yet you will see that he has worked hard all summer. He is leaner, faster and stronger! The Defense is ready to go as well. You can bet where ever the ball is Diggles won't be far behind. SMASHMOUTH football is #24 middle name! Then you still have Cleavland and Reeves making things happen and we can't leave out the only kicker in Texas that will tee the ball up, kick it and then be the first one down field to PLANT who ever dares to catch HIS football! Too many play makers to even keep track of? There are some new faces and names that will make their own mark as well. Who? When they turn those lights on tomorrow we'll all find out! Good luck to all these young men and to Coach Neese and his staff.

Newton / Tatum 

Stop reading your press clippings Cats. 

I was unable to make the scrimmage, but got updates. Kibyville's defense played well holding Diboll scoreless throughout both the 15 play format and the live half. Kirbyville scored once during the 15 play format and was told that they won the live half 3-0. I'm not sure if that means they kicked a field goal or scored three times. 

Ty will definitely get a chance to run wild for season opener 

After a full offseason program under coach Morrison, the Lumberjacks seem to have made some improvements, and had a solid scrimmage against Splendora Saturday. Kirbyville will be a tough test which is exactly what Diboll needs to see how they fair against a team who I believe has the potential to go the distance this year. Should be a fun scrimmage with a little intensity.

Practice at Kirbyville will be a lot more spirited this week .The kids will be teachable and coachable , they know they are beatable now. I look for them to show huge improvements this week. Good luck in district and play-offs.

It's a primer and it will be hot. The Newton bunch will be ready, but don't expect the Newton coaches to do much more than put kids in a lot of different positions and see how they respond. See which ones want to play and which ones don't. I want to see the Barbay kid under center with a game situation. I've been by the practices a couple times this week and he seems to be pretty confident and knows what he's doing in the system. Tanner Holmes will like getting to hit somebody besides the purple jerseys and some of the purple jerseys will be glad to see him hit someone else too! I'm not sure if Coach Johnston will make it out for the game. I know he wants to be with these kids real bad, but I personally would like for him to remain home and continue to build his strength and heal. After all, it's just a scrimmage.......

Aggrivated won't make this one,  I don't have radiation till 4pm today.  I trust championeagles and newton nation will give us an unbiased report on how it went.  

Kirbyville ran over Newton last year. I'm not sure how it will go this year, but I saw last year's and it was, in no way, a close scrimmage. Lol

East Chambers turned the old basketball gym into weight and indoor practice. Sutherland did a great job.

They forgot about alot of other kids from Newton who went there and we're All Conference players there 

Amen  to that. Injury free for all the teams in all the states.

My prayers are with you W.T... I don't always understand why a good Christian like W.T. has such odds go against his health but I do know that God is still in charge. He has touched a  lot of lives with the example he has set at Newton.

If Kountze can avoid injuries they will be fine. But thats a big IF...  Im hearing good things from inside Lions camp so far. But its clear Kirbyville and EC are the favorites in the district. I still see Kountze getting 3rd behind them. Buna lost a ton and Woodville would have to show some MAJOR improvement from what i watched vs Kountze last season. With that said the 4th spot will be up for grabs between Buna and Woodville. Maybe throw Anahuac in that mix with Hardin and Warren bringing up the rear.

I would just like to say that I hope it is a injury free season.

We are about a week away from completing the football turf, which will be one of the highest quality turf fields in the state of Texas. $1.2 million for the turf alone. On top of that, we also resurfaced our basketball court. As of now, there are no definite plans to build a baseball/softball complex. BUT I can say, people are talking. The board is talking. Big things may be in the works. That's all I feel comfortable disclosing at the moment. My press conference speach is over lol

ive only seen him play defense,  I hear he can QB too but I'm sure his time will be  spent learning the defense at first

I can go along with everything except the top two. Kirbyville was too much for EC last year, and they'll be too much this year. I will add though that I think there will be 2 games between Kirbyville and EC this year, and we need to remember the 2010 season of beating Coldspring in the first game, then losing to them in the second (and most important one) on their way to state. Man, I'm ready for season to start. 

Day one but looked good today.  Impressed by the size!
