  1. Kirbyville Maney Sweatsalot Iam Thirstey Ryden Thepyne Don Bythanksgivin  ;D ;D ;D ;D Seriously we do have a few bone crushers coming back like Lil Will and a new lightning in a bottle QB. The nay sayers will be out in force so never count the Wildcats out.
  2. I don't think its fair to give his name even now with the season over, but he rubs his thumbs across his index fingers (like a worry stone) when a pass is comming his way.
  3. A lot of athletes have pregame traditions or rituals that they do not break. I just heard that someone is flying the 'Cats in their traditional meal by private plane. How about that for curb service! Anyone from this area knows where its coming from.  Does it make a difference? It does not matter what I think if it makes the boys feel ready more power to 'em. Thank you to Frank George for all that he does for the team and for the community.
  4. I know that this season is not even done yet and everyone in this area is coming together to back the 'Cats.  But I have to say that I am already excited about the team for next year.  Most all of the key players will be back. Some starters will have TONS of playoff level play under their belt. Ford will be a little bigger, a little faster. Will Tyler will be a beast! Jones, Cucancic doing what they do, just to name a few with many more waiting to step up. They will all see Kvilles third State Championship game in a row and hopefully win their second!
  5. I just read the story about the Viking player that tipped off the other team because he puts his right leg farther back on pass plays and closer on runs. I noticed one this year on the Wildcats (sorry PP fans I wont reveal it) it is as sure as being in the huddle. It's just one player and  I am sure its just nerves.  When I played tailback I found that if I leaned very slightly to one side or the other some of the more agressive players would always take thier first step that direction. Anyone out there notices any give aways?
  6. I saw a news story about how the trend for backs in the NFL for runningbacks is beginning to change. The days of not even looking at a back not over 6 feet is giving way to guys as short as 5'-6". Maybe this will change college recruiting. Talent and heart can carry you along way. I agree that with the number of  programs out there any player that has had as much outstanding success as Ja'michael  should have a shot. He has kind of been a victim of the accomplishments of those around him. But anytime Ford or Jackson (last year) has had an off night or has been contained. Ervine has been there to pull the slack. He is underrated in my opinion due mostly to his own unselfishness which is a rare thing in the day of "star" high school players.
  7. This guy is a great player no doubt about it. But instead of focussing on him watch the players he goes up against. He plays hard until the whistle blows. Most of the guys he beat down were dogging it. No disrespect to the him, he is just playing hard football. Just can't cut him any slack until the play is over or he will make you pay.
  8. A good "balanced" game is just another way of saying playing as a team. Kville showed what they can do as a team in Waco. No superstars, everyone making an individual effort with a combined result. GO 'Cats!
  9. Other than keeping their cool on the field to keep the penalties from making a difference the 'Cats played as good as can be expected in Waco. They mixed up the offensive plays to keep the Comfort D guessing, kept the mistakes to a minnimum and the 'Cats D had a fantastic night. Ford just had to keep them occupied (and still had over 100 yds) which gave others a chance to make big plays. Just play it like that again and things should go well for them.
  10. I know that Kirbyville has all of the tools to get it done. The Beaumont Enterprise made note of PP having several linemen @ 6 foot plus, 200 lbs plus. I would still put a player like Will Tyler at a very fast 5'-7" and 230lbs having the advantage over the guy 6' 5". When it comes down to a pushing match a man built like W.T. has the leverage, center of gravity and the advantage. PP has a great running game which I would rather see us defend over a passing squad.  As long as Kville settles down early and keeps thier heads cool, I think the Cats can take them.
  11. The punt / kick return thing KILLS ME! There is more pressure than most people understand. I have returned a few myself (23+ years ago) so I know how it feels to look up at that ball dropping down on you end over end with the world looking to knock you out. And you know that the air is going to be sucked out of the stadium IF YOU DROP IT! So practice, practice, practice have some confidence and dont start running till AFTER you catch it.
  12. I know that now is not to change a winning combination, but just for fun is there anything that you would change if it was your call?  I would love to see Jones throw some short passes. The cats have some great runners and I think that the short passes would open up the run. Both our QBs have great arms and can really air it out. I just think the short passes would improve our strong running game.
