From what I have gathered, it was a question of resourcing the program in the way that could set them up for success in the future. Barrier needed more assistants in order to elevate the program from a coaching perspective. Keep in mind, Barrier wasn't even the AD at Hardin, just the HFC. That is another issue and made it extremely easy for him to leave to be an assistant in another district. It wasn't like he was walking away from an administrators salary to take an assistant role at Anahuac. The younger Barrier is a generational talent and would've been the best player Hardin football had ever seen, and his dad is a damn good coach also. I am not sure anything would've been able to keep them there, but Hardin didn't even try. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Hardin has too many hands in the cookie jar over there. Small town politics at it's finest. Board members and parents who are not realistic in their expectations. They let Anthony Morgan get out of the gate years ago, and Barrier will be the next one they will regret for decades. 

Definitely Panthers gonna drop 50 or 60. Hornets letting Barrier get away, both coach and player, was not a smart move for them. Could of been a game changer for the boys athletic program.  That’s on them.  Just not a smart move.

I haven’t seen them play since last year. But I believe it’s Senior loaded in key positions this year. They are well coached, and don’t make many mistakes. I would expect something just under Newton’s performance. I believe their ranking is legit if they’ve improved this year over last year. Should be a good game. GL

Another opportunity for Anahuac to show they are the real deal and that the Freshman QB can battle with some of the best teams in the state. 

Going to be on the sidelines for this one. Want to see New Waverly up close.

Sooooo Woodville was gifted the game???? Can't Win when Winning, for some.  We went toe to toe with two heavy favorites, Won One Lost One. I'm not Saying we are Winning State, We have Dang Good Team that is fighting hard and still has room for improvement. We'll Enjoy this Victory Tonight, Look forward to Liberty tomorrow.

I agree. In the end Newton imposed their will and won the game, but the final score wasn’t indicative of how competitive the game was. Anahuac freshman QB is legit and then some throwing the ball! Anahuac will make some noise this year and will only get better. 

All Bull Shyt aside coach Neece wants our kids to play Newton to see how the game is supposed to be played at high level and to make us a better team and prepare us for district . Not going to lie I’m excited to see y’all play as well . Good luck and safe travels

Beside from all the BS Anahuac is a quality program and it will be a good game. You have one of the best coaches in tx. -he was our OC when we won state and we would not have won state without him.

MAN, I would sure hate to see the purple man start the season 0 and 2.
