[/quoteI have noticed that same showboating also.  I believe it is counter productive and serves as a motivator for the opposition
Hey Nash, I'm sending this on your private message because I didn't want the forum to see how we agree sometimes. But you make an excellent point. ;)
Not only do we want to not be known for agreeing, but we might also get more hijack warnings
In other words you still feel Sutherland comes out on top ;D
THe point I was trying to convey is that it is impossible to pick the top.  My guess is that there are several in this area who are all valid contenders for that honor and that is about as close as you can get
But in the end HJ is tops ;) This is what you get when you go to a tea party luncheon in Lake Charles and not invite me ;D
Dove- are you available this week for a tea party luncheon?
 6. Dove, do you still maintain that Nederland can't play with the big boys?
 7.
Should HJ just cancel the program like I said last year? Why not just play basketball and become a private school.
SHould Silsbee cancel their girls basketball program?
 8. YOu Knew the draw before u made your predictions.  Let's see. Nederland can't play with the big boys and kimball will win it all with ease-  gotta get your prediction percentage up some
 9.
Who did HJ play?
. Beeville

 11.
Silsbee played very well in this game! Missed several layups and a few fouled out but played Kimball well! No other team in SETX would have played them this well! Even HJ!
You are right.  HJ would have lost by 60
 12. Hearing that there might have been a fight between players.  Any truth to that?

 14.
Good game Silsbee. You didn't play scared. Saw the 1st half. This game has Silsbee ready to play for district now. Good mental upside for you guys.
Dove- Is it time for you to predict a 2-0 sweep by the Tigers over the Hawks in district?
 15. Hope Silsbee pulls this one out for two reasons.  1.  Good for basketball in the Golden Triangle  2.  Keeps Da Doves prediction accuracy at about 25%
 16. The best thing about Dove is that he will NEVER, under any circumstance, try to stir the pot.
 17.
You know you guys are just proving the very need for this thread to be here.
You may not have intended any disrespect to Mr. Sutherland or to the town of Sour Lake.  It is easy to tell however, that some did not "interpret" your remarks as you intended for them to be interpreted.  Furthermore, I would venture to guess that there were others who felt the same way but chose not to elaborate on this board.  I suspect that if I had said the same thing about Dan Hooks and the City of Orange, you would have responded critically or even deleted the post.
Non-issue? Well I'm sure there were many other things that happened in the game that were non issues. Such as, missed free throws, missed layups, errant passes, etc. The bottom line is what name goes into the winning column.  ;)
Good point, Dove.  Did you feel the same way last Friday afternoon?
last Friday afternoon? ??? Memory faded  ??? Next topic please.
I am so sorry you chose this board to validate your onset of Alzheimers.  The good news is that the topic will soon be forgotten once we get back to how weak HJs schedule is.
 20.
HJ is soft man! You play weak tourneys to say hey we won my 65! So you rather play 6 meaningless games vs 4 quality games! Come on son! HJ won't beat Silsbee this year and won't win state! Facts are facts! Joe Sigler, Ira Brooks, Kyle Mackey, and Collins are the best staff since the 1992 Dream Team!
With that "glowing endorsement", Silsbee is virtually guaranteed the state title in March.

 22.
So did I offend you? Name a quality team HJ will play in a tourney this year? You beat Central and Nederland which are good wins.local teams! Play in a 5A or 4A tourney vs someone besides the school for the blind and then get at me. All you do is play in these weak tourney games to stack your record up so that when it comes time to end the season you can say, hey we went 39-2 with 2 loses to Silsbee. gTFOHWTBS!
And just WHOSE word are we going to accept when determining who is a quality team?  Are you suggesting that the HJ coaching staff consult you before they make their schedule?  If Silsbee has such a great schedule and HJ plays Silsbee twice, then aren't they effectively getting the benefit of those tougher teams that Silsbee played?
 23.
Yep the same way Mexia sent you back to our neck of the woods right? Maybe a tough schedule would of had you prepared for that? Just stating facts! No disrespect! HJ is scared to play teams in Dallas and Houston. keepin it real!
HJ schedule has been basically the same for many years and few, if any local teams, have the playoff accomplishments that HJ does.  And, no, a game with Dallas Kimball in late November would have had absolutely ZERO  (read it again- ZERO) bearing on the outcome of the playoff loss to Mexia.  Simply stated, Mexia was the better team at that time of the season just as HJ was simply better than Silsbee at that time of the season.  If you want to keep it ALL REAL, grab your clubs and come to Beaumont and quit" being afraid to play Sleepy and Lazeek"
 24. Just an FYI- Jacksonville (4a) beat defending state finalist Mexia recently by 16 points.  HJ has a game with them in mid December.  I know how good that sounds too but it will have very little to do with how they are playing in late Feb or early March.
