1. I wish them both the best of luck in their high school careers.  Of course, I might be inclined to slightly favor whichever one can go to "the right" better.
 2. Are there ever conflicts after the game regarding who did right and who did wrong?
 3. Dove- are those two young men paired up at the guard positions for the Ozen JV?
 4.
Yates has a frosh guard but he's still learning the hs system so he doesn't count in the equation. Heard he started tonite
IF the players arent good enough, they will simply bring in some more

PAM has quickness too. I'm only saying they may be the best right now to match up against HJ in this area right now.
Gotcha. I would think Silsbee has enough speed and quickness too, no?
Silsbee is the quickest  ;)
No doubt about it.  Silsbee is the quickest.
Now, Make no mistake at all, Smith still let all Central scorers and did fairly well.  But just like you said, he was not ablwe to do it at will as in the West Brook game.  That's when we need plays called to get him free or more room to operate.  That's what was not seen last night.  In order for us to beat really good teams like H-J, we will need to get this done...  well, along with way better free throw shooting.
It's a long season and the teams that will do best are the ones that will identify and deal with their weaknesses because the better opponents will know them and do their best to exploit them- especially around playoff time-  If Central gets a reputation as a poor outside shooting team, then Smith might find it more difficult to operate.  He will get his points, of course, but the W is what the team wants.  On the other hand, if Central becomes a decent shooting team, Smith is going to have more freedom.  Smith will almost always be your leading scorer but I would bet you a dollar to a doughnut that his shooting percentage in the HJ game was considerably lower than it was against Westbrook.

Which team looks the best so far?
Silsbee ! They have some guys who actually look like they've been playing basketball for awhile.
HJ doesn't look good this year. They never do.
Its sickening! Looking like the Hoosiers and winning against the big boys. ;D
Dove- it's early in the season- these games don't mean that much- just like the polls
I concur. Probably the smallest Tiger team of recent years, but certainly the fastest and quickest Silsbee team in recent memory. I'd put their overall team speed and quickness against any team locally. Plus, Silsbee is still playing a 10-11 man rotation. I see Silsbee only having problems with a team that has size and is able to handle the rock under pressure. If that team can't handle Silsbee's relentless pressure, the Tigers will eventually prevail.
Well seeing that HJ has the biggest team they have had in a yr or two . Are you saying that if they can stay close that they might beat Silsbee ;)
In the majority of Silsbee- HJ games, either team is capable of winning
 15. I noticed that this is the first Central game this season where there were complaints about coaches.  I think that a coach should be judged on a season or seasons rather than a single game.  Needless to say, it wouldnt have made much sense to complain about Sutherlands coaching when he lost back to back games against Central and Nederland last year and two games to Silsbee in the district race.  The detractors would have had to eat some crow when they followed the Hawks to the regional tournament for the fifth consecutive year.  I can tell you every  Monday morning which passes the quarterback shouldnt have thrown on Sunday- but of course I didnt have 5 or 6 300 pound linemen about to try to break my neck.

No Timouts being called or nothing. We expect a dep playoff run and we're not even competing with a 3a school. I know H-J is good, but geesh, show some fire and urgency. Lets see what we'll do in the second half.
A 3-A school. Sorry, but Central should be ashamed!
You have to look at the team and not the classification....There's 1A schools out there that can beat a lot of 3A's......but Dove, I cant help but think nash is behind this some how...
yEP, Nash is behind a lot of things that we know nothing about. Almost like a CIA moment when I saw him at HJ/Central game with his cabinet members-Busted Nash ;D
Ok - you got me - but the statute of limitations will keep you from going after me for 9-11 or blowing up the levees in New Orleans.  Furthermore, the refs got it wrong when they gave HJ the two technicals and Central the chance for two 6 point plays
 18.
Evidently, while listening to fans last night, the little guard from H-J transferred from Central.  I've hear 2 stories.  1 is that he was on the end of the bench and couldn't cut the mustard to get in games.  The other story is that he was not given a chance because of 'favoratism'.  I don't think we'll ever know the REAL story since one story comes from H-J fans and the other sides comes from Central fans.  Now, I'm assuming that Dove's boys play fot Ozen now.  NOT Central, but Ozen and plays on JV team.  So, where and how is the confusion?
It seems like he "cut the mustard" fairly well to me.  He has been the second leading scorer in all three games.
 19. Ok Dove- Then please speak the truth and tell us what should have been said.
We're not ashamed at all.  We'll be fine.  I just hope our staff will have a better game plan when we face another good team. We've done good.  Had it would have been anyone else, H-J would have probably beaten them by 30+ points.  They're that good.
Its way too early in the season to be concerned about a loss.  At this point last year, HJ had consecutive losses to Nederland and Central and wound up in the regional tourney.  It matters more to what degree a team improves from this point forward.  Sometimes players (no matter how good they are or supposed to be) must take what the defense gives them.  Its pretty difficult to try to shake and bake your way to a layup against the Hawks.  You also need to have some threats from the outside.  Except for the first couple of threes that Smith attempted, not much fell from the outside for Central.  I also believe that Smith being in foul trouble crippled him to some degree.  Central is extremely athletic and fast.  From my viewpoint, they just need to make better adjustments to what the other team is doing.  In most instances, their athleticism will carry them through, but it wont always be that way.
