I think you would get by better with The Obama costume than the real you  ;)
That may be true, but if I wear the Obama costume, everyone is going to be asking me for free stuff instead of watching the game.

 4. Dove- I would like to see this game.  Is there any way that you can, through your varied and influential connections, make it possible for a Republican to attend and safely leave the game?
Hmmm? Sounds like a Central fan with grandious ideals with the Red Sea parting to Austin, Texas  ;D
Grandiose?  How can that be?  The greatest baskeball prognosticator ( until recently when Soulja replaced him) has stated for months that Central would be in Austin in March and he is the last word when it comes to basketball.
 6. He might try saying the players played the game with the flu.

 10.
Nash, is PN-G better than most people think? I get the feeling they are trying to build their program over there
I dont know what people think but they dealt with the press pretty well and were extremely patient.  Only problem I saw was when there was less than two minutes left and they were down double digits, they were still running the same offense that often took them more than 30 or 40 seconds to generate a shot.  HJ has a very good freshmen group this year and the PNG freshmen squandered a 10 point lead but managed to win in overtime after an HJ player missed two free throws with 1 second left in regulation to win the game.

 13. 62-48  This game was close until the last 5 minutes.  HJ post man was absent with illness and HJ couldnt buy a shot in the first half.  3or 4 of the HJ starters finished the game with 4 fouls.  Not a pretty game for the Hawks.

You need to realize you are arguing with dads who get upset that a coach might make their child lift a two pound dumbbell during off season.  ;D  :P  With that being said, no doubt BB will help a kid with his footwork among other things. I do have a question for Almighty Nash--- When Persohn (sp) would finish his football season and go onto BB did the community of HJ refer to him as a FB player or was he considered a BB player like the rest of the team?    Back on topic --- If Silsbee is allowed to play aggressive they win by 15+  If the refs call a tight came, which favors the Dogs, Silsbee wins by 6. It will be fun to watch -- I have never been to the Tiger Den. Good luck to both teams
LOL!!! HJ lift weights?
Yes, the basketball players lift weights at HJ, Dove even though you would like it better if nobody believed it.  The difference is that the HJ basketball staff makes those decisions for the basketball players rather than the football coach
 16. Ok- gotcha- Yes, I am pretty well connected to the HJ basketball program.  I agree wholeheartedly with you last couple of sentences.  Was I right about your board name?  If a player is not committed 100% to basketball during the basketball season,( for whatever the reason) I think everyone benefits if he doesnt play.

Good luck to both teams
I cant answer that question because I didnt poll the "community".  He was quite obviously more competent at football than basketball but I can tell you that the Lamar coaching staff was at 5 or 6 of the home basketball games observing him during his senior year.  Since he had signed with them prior to those games, I wonder why they were there?  Could it possibly be that the college coach (to whom I already referred) is not the only one who believes that basketball gives a football coach more insight about his players/potential players?  Please note that I have  not resorted to calling you the "almighty" 85'husker in a mocking fashion.  I can also tell you that for a number of years, I lived only a few miles from Lincoln ( if I am interpreting your board name correctly)
 18. Dove- Maybe you should criticize them for their schedule and off season workout regimen.
 19.
Dove, there are quacks in every profession and I think Nash has found one in his Big 12 scout. To evaluate a player in his secondary sport is crazy.Example Coby Couron's role on the Ned. Basketball team is very limited. His role on the Football team was someone who led by example with high intensity because the program viewed him as a vital part of success. If a scout passed him up for what he saw on the basketball court,It would be that Football  programs loss. What would impress me as a scout is that Coby has decided to give up basketball this season to put on more size and strength to help him at the next level.I know it will hurt the Ned. basketball team that Washington and Couron have made a tough decision.I hope they understand.
My big 12" scout" is the head coach and has refused offers from several major programs that recently hired a head coach.  His record more than documents he knows exactly what he is doing.  He was not saying that he made evaluations on basketball alone but that he  could tell more about a kids athleticism on the basketball court than he could in pads.
My brother from another mother (Steve Nash) said, "I was told, in person, by a head coach in the Big 12, that when he is evaluating players for scholarships, he can tell in five minutes more about who he wants by watching them on the basketball court than he can on the football field. I meant you can't hide your character as much on a basketball court. Your toughness and your will to compete IS EXPOSED. Now say you're sorry!!
Well said Dove ( although it pains me to say that)

 22.
HJ Freshman team beat Lumberton this morning by about 26.  Then this afternoon they came from 21 down to beat PA Memorial by 1.  This is the same PA Memorial team that beat Nederland's "Fab 5" earlier this week.  (And Nederland people, that is meant as a compliment; your freshmen group is the best I've seen in the area). Will play Kountze in the championship on Saturday. It even looked like "real basketball" ;)
Prepare to be criticized by the self appointed content police for bringing up the term "real basketball"

If so, I hate to hear that. This is couron's last year and i think he will regret that decision later. On the other side of the coin, both these boys have a good chance to play football at the next level. So maybe that has something to do with there decision. If it does and they are both wanting to heal up and reduce the risk of injury, i don't blame them.  As for the team goes, it would be nice to have that extra size in there to give Weisbrod a break, which could help late in games. IMO... the dogs will be just fine and will continue to improve.
I was told, in person, by a head coach in the Big 12, that when he is evaluating players for scholarships, he can tell in five minutes more about who he wants by watching them on the basketball court than he can on the football field.
Thats why Iowa St. has been in the bottom of the conference for so long.  Makes sense now.
Nice try- This comment came from the coach of a  Big Twelve school  that is in Texas and has been to bowl games the last couple of years.  Try all you want, but you wont be able to discredit this individual.
It was just a joke, but why are we playing the game of mystery?  If he is not afraid of being discredited because he evaluates football talent on the basketball court, then just quote your source.  We know its not Mack or Sumlin.  I would have to go with Briles I guess.
Doesnt matter which one it is.  The point is that this individual supports multiple sport athletes and basketball if helpful to him in choosing who he wants.  I don't care to quote him in writing because I did not tell him I would be doing so.
