It is a bit ironic is that the same folks that claim that Mackey's scholarship chances are hurt by transferring to a lower classification are the same ones this spring that vehemently dismissed (and rightly so) the notion that Calvin Tyler, Jr. would hurt his chances by doing the same.  In this age of social media, if a kid has talent, it will be recognized and Kolten already has enough on his resume to have been recognized

Only gave my personal opinion after he gave his. So if ur going get on one person, get on both.

Run an AAU bball system in HS Ball here in this state and you will lose and find yourself with more problems than you want. 

Starting a softball team for Fall of this year. Team will have 3 experienced coaches and maybe have hihired coaches if we can find one. WILL have tryouts this summer just seeing who would be interested. Leave contact info here or PM me

Super Gold is picked by the Beaumont  Enterprise  writers. All district is made up of who makes up the best stats for their kids. Buna only had 4 kids make all district (except the 2 others who attend other schools ) every school had more except Deweyville. 

This should not be an issue. A form must be filled out by the coach of the previous school when someone transfers.  If you believe that a kid moved for athletic purposes, that is what you mark.  The DEC will then review(investigate) and, if necessary, the UIL will review(investigate). 

Joseph Clark from Buna is as hott as anybody right now. Don't know for sure but I think he has gotten out 1 time in 3 games.

I don't know why Cornel would lie about Trey's dad saying something to him about exposure. I don't think it makes a lot of sense due to WOS putting a LOT of players in FBS and no doubt Trey will be one of them, at WOS or Houston. Fact is, for football reasons, WOS is probably as good or better for him moving to the next level. Fact remains he has a father and siblings living in the district to which he is moving though. Trying to block the transfer or prevent him from playing is silly and a battle that will ultimately be lost. I have a lot of respect for Coach T but give him a hug, say goodbye, and wish him well. Just my 2 cents.

Just goes to show what senior leadership and some younger players stepping up will get you. Nobody expected the coogs to win this year and they proved everyone wrong. Now go get them in the playoffs boys.

Joe  pitched a GREAT  game last  night, but some key defensive plays played a big part in the game..Buna eliminated the errors we had the first  time we played Warren and Joe kept them off Balance all night..

We'll just take a win out by the Cougars and the picture in this district will be crystal clear :)

Buna's pitching really stepped up this week. The kid stepped up and pitched a good game against the Dville P rats then the 2 seniors did their thing against Hardin and Anahuac to keep our rotation straight. This week could have killed our pitching with 3 games in 4 days but the boys and the bats stepped up and we are set to go next week with a full pitching staff ready to go.

I am looking at all of these posts and I simply cannot believe all of the vitriol being directed at Chris Babin.
 
First of all, this is not intended to be a shot at Larry Haynes as he is a good coach and just as good of a man.  Folks, may be upset at Coach Haynes' dismissal, but how is that Coach Babin's fault?  All he did was attempt to move up from a position at a 3A, Division I school to a 5A school.  If folks are that mad at the Lumberton ISD, then they need to send them a message at the ballot box, but do not look for Coach Babin to fail (or even worse, wish him to).  As whoever the coach is, the desires of Lumberton for a winning team, as well as the fortunes of several young men, are tied to that coach's success.
 
I have also seen folks question Coach Babin's record while at Scarborough, Deweyville and Warren.  Come on! Scarborough?  Anybody who really needs to wonder what the problem is over there, I'll just send you the West Orange-Stark game tape.  And while Deweyville and Warren are teams which are replete with kids who work their butts off, they both suffer the problem of being outsized both in student population and size on the field.  Anyway, you cannot judge a Coach's record at another school.  Heck, Cornel Thompson, coach of the 2014 Class 4A, Division II runner up, was 2-8 in his stint as in his first head coaching job at Palestine (Coach T, I am so sorry about the reminder and I know a Mustang Mile is in my near future!).  But good coaches don't always have good records at every stop along the way!
 
Finally, I hear the concern that Coach Babin is some sort of vagabond coach that will jump from job to job at the drop of the hat.   He had a chance to get out of a bad situation at Scarborough and he took it.  He had a chance at Deweyville to move to a bigger school in Warren so he took that opportunity and again took advantage of that situation in moving to Lumberton.  PLUS, it was a chance for Coach Babin to return home to Lumberton.  When Alvin Creduer did that a few years back, he was hailed as a conquering hero.  Further, a number of coaches have jumped to the chance to coach at their alma maters.  Why is it that Coach Babin is the one ridiculed for that?
 
I can't promise that Chris Babin will have any more success at Lumberton than any other coach.  But let's hold off on the lynch mob before he has even conducted his first practice at the school!
