1. There is at les one hig schol in Texas that has turf other than green: [Hidden Content] Boise State does not want them using the term "Boise Blue" for the turf... Personally, I like green...and real, instead of artificial.  Call me a purist, but seeing the mud and grass stains on a ball player shows the game so much more...rug burn?  Not so much...

Fact is : Rules are Rules ...... punishments 4 broken rules is what makes the difference.......
Facts don't matter when you own The House...... I don't understand what your saying?  I can't read between the lines here in all of this.
2 people can break the same rules, but get different  punishments
Whom else broke the rules and do you have proof?  If so then go to STJFL if not then it is only hearsay.
Proof .. doesn't matter when you own The House!
How can or why should we believe you if you don't tell us FACTS or provide PROOF?  You are the one that wants everyone to believe you so provide the proof or shut up.  I am sick of hearing all the whining.
One of the problem with decisions made by others is that the only proof, the only truth, resides with them.  You can't offer a proof, you can only speculate, which is what these varied threads have done.  I notice that many of those crying foul over other's specualtion are engaged in it as well.  It's hard to truly put it to rest when only the minutes of that particular meeting can put it all to rest. So where does that leave the kids?  As far as PA goes, there might be some competition out there available...there is more specualtion of other cities in STJFL pulling out.  Contact them...initiate talks NOW, because you need the time to set everything up.  Leave STJFL and their politics. As far as parents go...EVERY city and league have their idiots...it's not a area or regional thing.  Keep those folks on a short leash...seriously.  It becomes about them and not the kids. As far as "strategic drafting" and "stacking"...both are methods by which a coach gets an edge over another team.  The big difference is that stacking is immediate, and strategic develops over time.  What happens is that the team that has been together for a long time, becomes the pre-eminent team 2-3 years later.  The aren't stacked that year, they "grew" into the stacking.  Both should be against the rules.  Draft a kid, and let the reality of "this kid or that kid" come into play.  Have more than one team, but the caution is...you can't have a team of 14-15 kids...you will end up forfeiting half of your games, because 5 or 6 "little Billys" catch the flu.  Let the good kids learn to play with, and at times, inspire the kids that aren't so good.  We never know what these kids will do in the future.  No one does.  A coach is there to mentor, to teach, and to learn...not just send in plays...

 4. What is extremely satisfying is when those kids who are great players and are disparaged by "daddy ball" leagues grow up to be successful.  All the "daddy ballers" can do is point to the trophy of the "Super Bowl" their kid won at 9.  I remember a lot of my flag kids being tackled and punched intentionally by one particular city group in Pop Warner who were all into daddy ball, and whose refs never seemed to see the infractions against the Orange team.  I just wanted the kids to have fun, not get into a boxing match.  However, in retrospect, being disrespected gave these kids an extra ounce of patience, which helped them succeed way past the daddy ball years, past high school, and into college and the pros.  A negative became a positive... PA, I remember playing you guys, and even in flag, it was a tough, but clean game.  Good luck to your kids in the future...leave the daddy ball to those who will need that moment for themselves in their dull lives.  The road to the future is wide open...

 6. Me personally, I enjoyed participating in the Pop Warner organization.  Every kid got a shot at playing and you had a love of the game develop.  I wonder how many Pop Warner players are in the pros and D1 college ranks, compared to STJFL?  Let's see...Emmitt Smith was a Pop Warner kid, from the area, Earl Thomas was a Pop Warner kid, as was his brother Seth.  In the college ranks, Jacoby Franks and his two brothers Kerry (KJ) and Trey were Pop Warner kids...and those are the ones I know about...so there is a better place to go Big Titan.  Let the petty play in their own world...
 7. big dog, I can understand that this needs to be closely watched, or else it can turn ugly.  Having said that, it is a fine line that you walk, between responsible monitoring and censorship.  STJFL made a concious decision to exclude a whole area from competition, and they never gave the participaing parents a reason why.  When you have nothing else to go on, you speculate and assume...it's human nature... Now, I will offer a correction.  What happened to me was as a flag coach for the Orange Cobras organization, it happened a few years back, but it DID NOT happen at an STJFL event.  Big Titan's did.  My point was that racism is alive and well, no matter what we may work toward...there will always be individuals that behave hat way.  Is the STJFL racist?  I don't beleive it is.  What has happened is that they are offering no reasons as to their actions.  That is troublesome, and something that might end up in a bigger court of public opinion where they will not have the luxury of having a thread locked to help them remain silent.
 8.
I dont have a dog in this hunt....or even know anything about either party. I just saw the race card and frankly get tired of it....no one gains from taking that approach, even if it is fact. Race is a barrier built by people who aren't tolerant of others that are different in looks only....both are equally bad....those who display it...and those who accuse (especially without proof)....the only way to break those barriers is to be the better person (on either side). Especially when kids are envolved....good luck PA figuring out whats best for the KIDS!
In other words, sit down, shut up, and do as you are told?  may not have been your intention, but that is how it came across... As for "playing the race card"...ifyou have gone through and eliminated any other issue that might have caused your community's removal from competition, and are only left with the "race card"...and the organization responsible for voting you out gives no valid reason as to why...then, to me at least, race MAY have played a part.  You acknowlege it in your post with the words "even if it is fact".  Why must folks be quiet when they are possibly being discriminated against?  THough I have no "dog in this hunt" as well, I CAN tell you that there are communitied in the Golden Triangle who teach their kids racist ways.  The saddest evidence that I have, you will consider hearsay, but it happened in an Orange County town,  but not the one that has been dragged through the mud in the media.  I was walking across the field with my team mother, who was African American, and heard one little flag player exclaim to his friend "how could you let that little ****** beat you"?  I was going to go over to the kid to ask to talk to his parents, but that team mom stopped me...and told me that it was no big deal, she had gotten used to it...I was dumbfounded.  She was being the bigger person, but I wonder what happened to that little boy who had no idea what he had said?  In the same way, STJFL needs to step up, explain their actions, and clear the air.  They voted them out, they need to say why.  If they don't, of course people will speculate about it, right or wrong...
 9. The school is a 1A school in Washington.  #34's duties before playing basketball?  Offensive lineman for the 1A state championship football team.  The 80s glamband dude wearing the headband, #42, was a defensive lineman.  In 34's case, I see a kid whose coach needed him to field a team.  He is clumsy out there, he plays like an offensive lineman, but the problem that I have with it, is that clumsy hurts people, intentionally or not.  Foul 5 is the most flagrant.. In 42's case, he committs 2 fouls that, in my opinion, should have been ejection worthy.  Foul 2, he gets boxed out, and then grabs the opposing player by the shoulders and flings him out of bounds.  That's flagrant, since he is not going for the ball, the ball is firmly in the opponent's possesion, and the kid doesn't swat at the ball, he grabs shoulders and throws.  Great if you're a defensive lineman, but not a basketball worthy move.  The second instant is the obvious "arms out" push he gives the opposing player. What makes me laugh is that some people got bigger heartburn when Suh, another product of the Northwest, kicked at another player in pads.  Suh made less contact that #34 does, and less than #42 does.  Yet people call these "hard fouls" but not flagrant ones, and think tht the opposing team should "toughen up" and that "it's a part of the game".  I got an idea...let Suh post up against #34, and then let #42 get a shot against Suh...he doesn't live that far away...I bet their "hard fouls"... won't be

 16. And that is the problem with 'holier than thous"...they willingly make the jump from exuberant celebration to criminal behavior.  High stepping is something that wasn't against the rules a few years ago.  Now any celebration seems to be a "flagging event"...that is of course, unless you're a defensive player.  If you are, you can make taunting motions ajll you want, as long as you make them away from the player you just creamed.  An offensive player with no one closer than 5 yards on a breakaway run?  You better not even rub your eyes, else it's a penalty...
 17.
You mean to tell me that you have NEVER seen a player do a chest bump with his team mates after one of them scores a TD?  I have seen it plenty of times in HS by many different teams and have NEVER EVER seen a flag thrown.  How is that any different than a player raising his hand while running for a TD?  It isn't in my book and if this is a flag then a whole lot of flags need to be thrown right here in SE Texas every Friday night during football season.
Bravo, bravo...I bet all the holier than thous would get up in arms if there was a flag thrown on a kid from their team.  Do as I say, not as I do...
 18. It seems to happen to players on an unopposed run to the end zone.  For a high school kid, it IS exciting.  Just like it is exciting to drop a QB for a loss, or get a touchdown saving tackle.  Those however, are ralrely, if ever, flagged, and to me, a big ol' bubba flexing his muscles in your face is more of a taunt than a high step, or a raised fist.  Inconsistency is the rule.  Inconsistent application of the rules.  Let's be honest, while these flags are all "letter of the law" type things, do they fulfill the spirit of the law?  Why were the penalties introduced to begin with?  Because you had game wasting showboating going on in the end zone, or running around wasting time off the clock before you scored.  In both Gray's case, and this one, they are running for the end zoneand neither of the actions takes any more time off the clock.  What is going to happen is one of 2 things... A redifinition of the taunting rule to actually include interacton with the other team, like turning around, or crossing the line and then getting in the opponents face; or... A complete and utter crushing of the spirit that is football.  We will have robots instead of players.  Maybe that's what we want.  People with no emotion.  What next?  Flag the cheerleaders because their skirts are too short?  Flag the mascot for too much exuberance?  Flag the PN-G Indians for not taking a knee?  Can you see how ridiculous it gets?
 19.
I don't necessarily like the ejection but If he got called for it once already why would he even think about running like that a second time. Is it that hard to run like a normal human being? He tried to push the refs and see what he could get away with....gotta face the consequences. Just because he's on track to break records doesn't clear him of not following the rules and consequences. Thats whats wrong with society, people who think it should be ok to break laws and rules that govern us, just because a record may get broken, or because of status, or etc.  take your emotion out of it.
First one was a "cut throat" sign to some of the fans.  THAT call I agree with.  Stuff like that, yeah I understand.  If he had done that again, then yes, the ejection is warranted.  The high stepping?  No. Now, apparently, according to one Aledo fan that posted, Aledo and Stephenville have some history, because Stephenville beat Aledo at the start of the season.  Here is a question...with some acting all self righteous about things, should fans also have a standard of conduct, with regard to harrassing players from the other team?  I mean, so many people are "holier than thou" with respect to a kid that high stepped...should foul mouth fans be ejected?  What's the threshold?  One warning?  Two? Depnding on whether the cop at the game is kin, or a friend?  The problem is, the call on that is like the call on the field...subjective.  I've seen venues that call for SERIOUS crowd control, yet it doesn't happen.  Ozen, La Marque...classic example.  The problem with the 2nd call was it's inconsistency.  The rule, yes, but if you are going to enforce it, be consistent.
 20. so, a defensive player that jumps up and interrupts the flow of the game by flashing his muscles and celebrating a sack okay, but a player high stepping into the end zone is not.  Got it.  Both are violations of the rules according to the above, yet I have seen no flags for this.  Let's just admit that this official was a poster boy for the definition of "ticky tack".
Pretty weak shouldnt have happened, as for race related that also is pretty weak.
True...what has kind of bugged me is that on the Yahoo board where this is posted, Gray is being made out to be heading toward being a criminal because he is an "unrepentant rule breaker".  The kid has done some really great things off the field, one of which was posted here not that long ago.  Yet now, he's is engaging in gateway behavior that leads to law breaking?  Come on.  Maybe not the ref, but some folks out there get their prejudice engine revved up over the littlest things.
