[/quote] Yes Lamar is the soccer equivalent to the Baltimore Ravens... not pretty.. just hard nose in your face soccer. I thought the ref should have been a little more involved early to dictate what would be allowed.. it was very rough and  I am surprised there were no significant injuries. Both teams got away with a lot.

LAMAR vs SFA SFA 1 - Lamar 0 I learned a lot from this game. One I underestimated Lamar's talent based on the results of like opponents. Their big physical style of play matches up really well or mis-matches up against our smaller more possesion oriented players. My hats off to Dewi for the way he built his team. These are the only teams ( ones built in this fashion ie Baylor and SMU) that has given us any trouble. Zuri only played 15 minutes and that was really hard to swallow since I made a big build up with the family and friends to come out and see her play. Better luck in 2013.. We hosted the team dinner and got the W so all in all it was a fun weekend.

Another game of pure domination. SFA 5    McNeese 0 McNeese played 90 minutes without a single shot on goal. D-Fence! Zuri Played around 57 minutes Chelsea Raymond should be a shoe in for Freshman of the Year! Give her .. her trophy... she had her second Hat Trick of the Year. [Hidden Content] And this team will only get better next year with returning Kylie Louw and 7 contributing freshman. Lamar it's ON! 1:00pm tomorrow.

[Hidden Content] SFA 5 Northwestern 0 Like a few of the last this game was fairly close for the first twenty minutes or so until we scored our second goal of the first half.. kinda scary when we seemed pinned down near our goal for a few minutes.. looked like they might score.. they were a very physical team. Zuri got to start and played 52 minutes.. after her last two performances this one seemed pedestrian... she played very well just no goals or assist.... She did have a flying one touch volley (near goal) that would have put the performance back on the spectacular chart had it gone in. This week we will be close to home ( short drive) McNeese on Friday night at 7:00pm and an AWAY game in town (BMT) vs Lamar on Sunday at 1:00pm.. come out and support Lamar or SFA and watch Zuri and Bailey!!! [Hidden Content] Interesting trivia SFA has a higher RPI ranking than UT!!!! and climbing!

The crazy thing is now we have folks saying that growing better (trophy.. a relative term) deer is hurting the sport... I do not buy it...Now there are some obscene deer being grown on some high fence operations in South Texas.. but if you want to spend the money to shoot a 200 or some day a 300 inch deer. that is your prerogative. 120-130 is a trophy for me. And I am glad we will be seeing more of them with the restrictions.

Great Game. State actually dominated possesion with a better organized attack and lead shots on goal 5-1 at the half. Second half was more of the same until SFA got their act together late and began to close the shots on goal ratio to 9-8 with a few minutes left. With less than two minutes in the game and the score still 0-0.. a little Beaumont resident received a ball near mid field and dribbled across the line and made a great touch chip pass that found  Freshman forward ( who now has a team leading 17pts and six goals) Chelsea Raymond who took a shot that was  cleared back into the  field of play and Captain Kylie Louw made them pay off the rebound... GOOOOOOOLLLLLL! The lumberjacks win.. the lumberjacks win!! the crowd goes wild. Zuri played around 30 minutes and made two memorable plays... one a defensive clear deep in Lumberjack territory and the chip that set up the eventual game winner. I cannot lie...  I was not very happy after the Friday night game. I was not into the game for a few reasons but mostly because Zuri did not play much and I knew she would be very disappointed even after the victory... but I told her.. it is not the minutes you play but what you do with them.. today she made our family and the Golden triangle proud.. Good job Zee #19! ;D Oh yeah the final score SFA 1 TX state 0

I stopped watching the computer just now and SFA was up 2-0 Chelsea Raymond scored both goals. There were 13 minutes left in the game and I had not seen Zuri sub in yet.. then I realized..THIS IS NUTS... YOU ARE WATCHING A SIMULATED GAME ON A COMPUTER SCREEN ONLY TO SEE YOUR DAUGHTERS NAME COME ON IT..... YES I REALLY LOVE MY GIRL. will post final later.. i am still at work and we closed 2.5hours ago. rip is out.. i am going hunting in the morning.

Well first half is over and Stori had a better scouting report than I did. 0-0 at the break SFA 10 shots 8 on goal UTSA 5 shots 1 on goal. taking more shots but score is still knotted at 0. My forecast was a 4-2 victory by SFA.. looks more like 1-0 now. back after the second half. Zuri played a paltry 5 minutes.. glad I did not drive to the Alamo city. :o

[/quote] Thanks Stori.. and I am a hugely committed soccer fan and parent.. but I do not want to drive ( re-translation... wife want let me) to San Antonio for a 7pm game that will last til 9 ish hang out til ten, then drive home get home between 2am and 3am.. get up at 6:30 to be at work for 7:30 and work til 6:30pm go home go to bed to  get up at 6:30 to drive back to San Marcos for a 1pm game.  The wife says NO DEAL! I will go out on a limb here and say that SFA will win this game, no problem... Zuri is coming off the bench for 30 minutes a game. She is a two time TAPPS Div 1 district 3 player of the year. The only player to be a two time first team all-state selection from a very talented Kelly soccer team... SFA is stacked ! and will dominate the SLC for years to come. If you do not believe me ask Neresa Taylor.. she will tell you.. she had to sit through a very agonizing loss of her alma mater UTEP to SFA for the first time she could remember in recent history as well as the taking down of TCU which  has never happened  either... this is not your Grand pa's SFA.... they are good.. very good.  based on there performance against Baylor which I did see in person.. I think they could hold their on in the Big 12 as well. Goals against for like opponents SFA gave up 4 while UTSA gave up 10. UTSA scored 4 goals on like opponents ( 3 on UTEP) while SFA only mustered 2 It appears that  UTSA has no problem scoring only a problem stopping their opponents from scoring... That spells a big night for Kylie Louw, Chelsea Raymond and Laura Sadler to name a few. Against Baylor they gave up 5  SFA 2 Against UTEP they gave up 3  SFA 0 SMU was a wash both teams gave up 2 goals. I pick SFA 4-2 And the more I talk about it I may just have to drive and watch it in person. ;D  Zuri will not start this game.. after starting in her last 3 of 4.. the girl she replaced is back from injury and ready to go

SFA 11  Jackson State 0 You have all been to those game where your team has to restrain themselves not to score 20+... this was one.. I do not particularly enjoy them. It was 9-0 at the half. Zuri played 59 minutes and scored her first career goal.. It was a classic bend it like Beckham free kick that found the net.. I doubt seriously if it was at all intentional.  At that point it is 10-0. Next week we begin conference play at UTSA Friday Night and Texas State Sunday evening. Oh yeah does anyone know that Bow season starts next Saturday..  I will probably hunt Monday or Tuesday if I can get my bow back by then.
