1. Where is the Goal Keepers  :D
 2.
This debate will always continue, i.e. how many goals should a single player be allowed to score in a blow out game, should a team ever keep scoing until it has a double digit victory, can you beat a team as badly as you can as long as it is your substitutes doing it in the second half? Writers note: I am not sure a 10-0 soccer score is worse than a 106-16 basketball score. In fact, I think not. I have written before that goal scoring stats in soccer tend to be over-emphasized. One reason is because it is difficult to keep many other stats other than assists and saves. Girls who play up front should and will score more because of their positional location. When you play on a good team with lots of mismatches, the forward scores a lot. This focus tends to diminsh or overlook the contributions of defenders and midfielders who must work the ball to the forward. And yes, I said the same in the past when my daughter played forward and scored quite a bit before moving to the midfield this year. Unfortunately, girls high school soccer does not enjoy a lot of depth in this area. Double digit scores are not going to prepare any team for tough playoff games. As much as I would like to see PNG advance, the Ozen game probably did not help them improve toward that goal. By the way, the best scorers and best players in this area are that way primarily because they have trained with the Spindletop Club to devlop their skills. Everyone on this thread should tip their hat to Coach Mike Hughes and the trainers at SSSC. And yes, I realize i just addressed 3 separate threads in a single post. Easier that way. I am retiring as a poster of the soccer board. Good bye and good luck.
Yes, Well put Watash.... The credit should go to Mike and SSSC at 1b after the girls themselves at 1a for dedicating themselves to become the best soccer players they could be! How long do you have to wait to draw your pension after retirement from the board? ::)
 3. Hey Sharktooth I love ya man!  I must confess the comments were made out of jealousy and poor sportsmanship.. Nat has 26+ goals and our closest was a dozen behind her and counting.. I had to make up some excuse for the disparity.. so Quality vs Quantity fit the bill... Nats a great scorer and lead our team when both Yasi and Zee were members.  I think if we switched the topic to a Quality bias her goal against Nederland would still be atop the polls... So even with a little spin we still come in 2nd  ;D ;D Good luck in the playoffs and see ya in April.
 4.
My thoughts....If Brady were to ring up 500 against the Lions; then he did his job!  If he were to ring up 500 against the Packers/Steelers..then he did his job!  I feel its about the effort an athlete should give regardless of the competition!  Last I checked; no one in this area has an absolute stellar district to where the Quality is there night in and night out!  So with that being said; I feel it comes down to how an athlete prepares him or herself for the game itself and not the opponnet....just my thoughts!
p.s.s this has nothing to do with last years 50... that was still a remarkable feat!!!!
 5.

the png girls has no class >:(
Not sure what you saw but I saw PNG girls attempt to help the Ozen girls up when they fell and there did not seem to be any problems on the field. In fact, it seemed Ozen girls were pretty happy with their play at the end of the game and I know a couple who had nice conversations with each other. Didn't seem either team had a problem with the play last night... Only problem I saw was parents who thought refs weren't doing their job...that's a matter of opinion as well...
Not related to this game... due to the fact that I was not there... but it is funny that I and a longtime coach friend of mine were having the same conversation about how parents from BOTH sides generally complain about the officiating of the game and also the less than stellar behavior of the opponents players.. It's just interesting that both sides generally come to the same conclusion, that the the refs were in favor of the other team and the other team sure has some nasty players..  I am usually one of those parents ;D

Depends on your competition
I was just about to delete that post.... for a controversial guy.. I hate being controversial  :D  And a soar loser to boot!
Spelling Police on patrol!  The word could be sore; or the word could be sour;  but it probably isn't soar (Unless your mean a high flying loser.). ;D ;D 8)
I Soar gracefully like a Spoonbill..... 9.
Nederland played a dirty game, but Vidor brushed it off and kept it clean. Nederland won 3-1
dang dem bulldogs is nasty.. must be some pitbulls ;D  Was not at the game... just could not help myself from saying something stupid!
 10. I guess I am jaded but if Tom Brady puts up 500yds against the Lions that's one thing...If he puts up 500yds against The Packers or Steelers.. thats a whole other ball game. Quality or Quantity?
 11. bump.. cannot believe it's over... I am going into the denial stage now! :D :D :D
 12. When do you plant your Summer deer food?
 13.
Anyone not understanding.. THIS WAS THE KELLY GIRLS state championship game.  I was so into the game I had an ex player there. I made him leave his phone on so i could listen to the final minutes.  Just because its amazing they put six on  team that probably has NEVER had anyone put 6 in on them in the last ten years.  WAY TO GO KELLY GIRLS.. Makes the kelly nation proud.  NEVER GIVE UP.. way to go ladies proud of you ..
Amen!  Best game I have ever witnessed... There is not an Alaphabet in exsistence to describe the grade for effort! A to the one millionth  power would not come close. Big Kudo's to Mike Hughes for planting and nurturing the seeds which became these great ladies. It was a decade long process.
 14.
Any word on final?
Ursuline up 7-4 with 5 minutes left... Lady Dawgs score 2 in final 2 minutes... just a little short... Final score 7-6! At five minutes left I could not hold back the tears knowing this was Zuri's last game as a Kelly Student.. but what really had the tears flowing was they were down by 3 and they would not give up!  They took my tears to cheers when they kept pouring in the goals... Best game I have witnessed.
 15.
Shark So glad to hear of the red card turnover for Aaron. So glad you appealed and won!!!!!!!!!!! Great job and good luck. Will be in Dallas cheering my girls on, but will be cheering for you guys in spirit. Would love for these seniors to get to go to state.
Got the Red overturned that is awesome!
 16.
I agree RIP..i would have loved to see them play as well; both healthy!  It would have been the classic battle we saw last year, especially with a 100 % Natalie Hagar this year!  Quick update on Chloe; she played last night with no pain!   Scored 2 goals and had an assist in about 30 minutes playing time. Good luck to both the Kelly soccer teams in the playoffs! Us Injuns are pulling for yall!
Good to hear Chloe is healthy and doing well!!!!  Thanks for the support!
 17.
Looks like that PN-G game with Kelly might have been a good one, but we will never know  ???
Always has been and hopefully always will be... I think both teams are going to suffer from serious Senior (Talent) Depreciation next year... Kelly still has a few Juniors with good talent that just need to step up and take charge.. If it were my team.. I would put Caitlyn Quinn in the back to protect the goal with her speed... And there are some freshman starters that just need some seasoning.. In their junior and senior years they should be very formidable. Yes I wish the Kelly bulldogs and the Indians could have hooked up... do not know if it would have been the same with Chloe being a little dinged up.
 18.
Congratulations to all who have chosen to take their soccer talents to the college level! This year is proving to be one of the most promising for area recruits in several years. I hope to see several more signings posted in the near future - boys and girls. I know there's still some talent out there. Where will they go?      Don't forget, if you don't play for "the college team", your school may have a "club team" you can join. Many of these teams are very competitive, (men - Texas A&M, Baylor, TCU, Lamar; women - Baylor, UT,  and others) but are more flexible with practices and academic commitments. The club teams play other college club teams from across Texas and the nation! They even have regional and national club championship tournaments each year. Find out more from your college's recruiter/admissions advisor.
That's good information WellRead
 19.
Thanks Aeries and thanks RIP.............. I LOVE the team.  And I love what they are achieving.  I get a bit of hmmmmmmmmmmm loud ... but its all good.
Yeah after yall got up 2-0... You would give a player a good talking to ( which would appear to be serious) then you would turn back to the the players on the sideline with a big (fox in the chicken coup) grin..... lollipop going ninety to nothing... You could tell you were really enjoying the game. Good on ya Shark and Good Luck to you and the Boyz Saturday... where and when?
 20.
Kelly just scored again --  2-0  :)
Kelly laid the smack down.... it was a very entertaining game.... If you have never witnessed Sharkfutbol lurking the sidelines... that is very entertaining in itself.. can you say PASSION! Great Job Coach!
 21.
Ditto on the gratitude of the Lady Dawgs and their parents to the Lumberton team for agreeing to scrimmage. It is really appreciated and will hopefully prepare Dawgs for an extremely tough upcoming game playoff game. The experience should help Raiders get ready for their tough district. They did not have to take this scrimmage but did so and were classy hosts. As far as the scrimmage went, Lumberton came out like a storm and scored first, then led again 2-1 and really pressured well in the first half. Kelly was stronger in the second half and outscored the Raiders by a couple of goals.
Ditto: The top ranking that sharktooth had given the Lady Dawgs was definitely in jeopardy in the first half...The Lady Raiders were pushing the Dawgs around and imposing their will on them... They could have easily had 4 goals in the first half. The dawgs got their act together and brought it home.
