1. Was a really good game with HBU coming out strong and creating chances... then Lamar got their act together and sent a barrage of balls towards the goal... none on target but scary all the same. First half ends knotted up 0-0.  I thought HBU was the better side.. but now Lamar had the wind at their back and have some big legs in the midfield... just the formula for a sneaky goal.. but thier game leading goal did not come from distance but from a string of well placed passes that eventually lead to a shot that beat the HBU keeper... not undaunted or rattled.. at least I wasn't becuase this same HBU squad fell behind the previous Friday night when they unleashed heck fire on their opponent scoring 3 goals in the second half.. two by Port Neches own Natalie Hagar.... I am saying to myself not so fast Lamar..... HBU still has the one two punch ( or H squared) of Hughes and Hagar. This game is far from over...... andwith the clock running down HBU gets the equalizer on a penalty kick. Now with only 9 seconds left the H sqaured combo does what they do... Hughes gets the pass into Hagar and she fires a beautiful potential game winner that just hits the crossbar. WOW that was close and an incredible dramatic finish from Hagar. If you do not know by now the girl is DANGEROUS and can strike like a cobra at any moment.  Well they go into overtime and it remains knotted up until Hughes gets her chance for heroism.. I missed this due to a previous scheduled engagement but according to her father.. Emily recieves a through ball deep in Lamar territory and she has their defenders by a clear three feet.. only Bailey Fontenot her former teammate standing in her way.. Em switches the ball to her left foot and drives it.... Bailey lays out and saves the game for Lamar! what an appropriate finish.. teammate to teammate  and today was Baileys day.. Emily's dad said she had made that shot against Bailey many times in High School and today Bailey made the play... maybe it was the familarity of those high school games that gave Bailey the edge.. things that make you go HMMM... Coach Bates was in attendanes hope she has some PNG up and comers headed to the Lamar program. 8)
2. Awesome Congrats Brit!!!!! Her former teammate is making some noise at HBU.
3. Lamar ( Bailey Fontenot) will Host HBU ( Emily Hughes and Natalie Hagar) This Sunday at everyone's home turf here in Beaumont! The only thing that would make it feel more like a family reunion is if it were played on the old SSSC field #1! Game Time Sunday 9-9-12 at 1:00pm At the Lamar soccer complex  8)
4. This is what their news said of the game! [Hidden Content] and ours! [Hidden Content] Very respectable.... should have closed the deal... Chelsea Raymond put not ONE but TWO crosses with-in  6yds of their net within two minutes of the begining of the second half to only have both of them one timed over the net.... the second one rebounded off the cross bar and Senior Olympian Kylie Louw sent it wide... had only a little luck it would have been 3-1 before they could blink an eye. Coulda Shoulda Woulda.. they won the game.
5.
I have a marlin 17 hmr and it drives nails at 100 yds and packs a punch too!
I have a marlin in stainless..... good looking but my trigger is HEAVY!!!!!
6. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] Go Nat Go!!!! This is just the begining folks.... in the future I see a lot more achievements and many more post game interviews from local soccer talent. These girls are just going into their Sophomore seasons! I hate to say it again but someone I know Blew it by not signing more of these kids! I hope the current regime is taking note because there are some very talented kids on the horizon. I will even go out as far to say that many of this crop probably would have loved to played together in college and also represent their local higher education institution. Oh yeah Oh yeah this is a celebration of Natalie Hagar and her parents!! Great Job Hagar family!!!!
7. Some one teach me how to post photos again and i will post an awesome ( In my humble opinion) deer picture.

9. guy cam in the wash the other day and a moutain lion had his deer by the throat.. just outside of Jasper
10. It's Going down at a little past high noon. Former SSSC players Natalie Hagar and Emily Hughes for HBU vs SSSC's own Zuri Prince for SFA.. come out and watch some great collegiate soccer. At HBU 1:00pm this Sunday!
11. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] After tough loss to Texas Tech... SFA stilled ranked in top 10 Central Poll
12. Better day! Zee scores game winner with 12 minutes left! Kind of crazy looking but that is the Game winning shot! [Hidden Content]
13. Heart breaker went toe to toe with Tech until they scored the game winner with 45 seconds left in regualtion. It came after and obvious foul in the box with just over a minute left.. NO call. the tech coach told the ref he missed the blantant foul that would have set us up to take a penalty to potentially take the lead with only one minute left.
14.
TDS isn't a top 64 ranking, rather a ranking of the 64 teams they predict to be in the NCAA tournament. That's why there is even a SWAC school 'ranked' in that 64. That's not to knock SFA or what they are in the process of achieving, just pointing out what they are ranking.
I get it now... each conference must have a rep so you may not get the best 64 teams in the tournament. As was last year when we went 9-0 in conference play but do to a fluke goal was eliminated from the tournament... clearly the best team in our conference. [Hidden Content] Went toe to toe (0-0 after 89minutes and 15 seconds) with Texas Tech ranked #2 in the big twelve.. zuri missed a game winner from 8yds out.... There was extreme bias in the calls . less than a minute to go our speedster forward C. Raymond was going to goal and taking down inside the box.. NO CALL! Even the Tech coach told the ref he blew the call after time expired even though the call or no call favored his team. Seconds later Tech scores the game winner with 45 seconds left.. what ever that ranking means SFA is in tha House.. beat TCU today 2-0.. next opponent the #26 (formerly 23rd) ranked LSU.
15. A win against Texas Tech this Friday should improve this number! TopDrawer gave SFA more love in their initial 2 polls (ranked 51st nationally) not listing Tech or UT in the top 64!  What do those coaches know anyway? LOL [Hidden Content]
16.
It is amazing that the 93 girls have 11 playing college soccer and a couple more that were more than capable.  What's more amazing is that the previous LU coach didn't want these girls (well with the exception of Aaron and the keeper). He was more interested in signing a girl from a big name club than a more talented kid from a smaller club.  This isn't intended to knock any current or former LU player that played at a big name club, it's just a statment of fact that several of the SSSC 93 girls could have really helped the LU program.
And their Attendance!
17. Did not make the trip... long drive for potential blowout. Zuri started and scored... great day for her. [Hidden Content]
18.
Just for the record, there are now 11 girls playing in college that played for Spindletop 93 (with several more that could have): Zuri Chloe Kaitlyn Layken Haley Emily Natalie Bianca Bailey Aaron Kelsey Surely, the most successful Spindletop team ever!
Cannot argue with you there Dr. Dave although there is a younger team or two claiming to own the title. One has made it to State Classic league... but lest they forget.. we were a premier level team at one time ! Not taking anything from the young ladies..... that particular team has some very high quality players. Our girls are just not surrendering the title just yet and having a total of 11 girls having played or playing in college still gives the 93's the nod in my humble opinion! Madline, Yasmine and the likes could easily be playing at a high level.
19. This weeks highlights all revolve around the 2011 Super Gold MVP Natalie Hagar scored the game winner to lead HBU over UTSA 1-0 Lamar looses to Air Force 0-3 U T beats Dayton (#30) 3-2 Strawser has limited minutes in the home opener. As I told her father the life of a freshman dad is Full of ups and downs.... just be there when you can.. you never know when she is going to shine. Sam Houston beats Prairie view 1-0 SFA beats the University of Houston 2-0 Zuri logged around 70 quality minutes
20. [Hidden Content] Zuri logged somewhere between 60 and 70 hard fought minutes.. but as the clip says Sadler and freshman Owens stole the show. Great game!
21. [Hidden Content] ;) Have a big game with Houston Cougars tonight.... this will say if we deserve it or not. Ranked 3rd in the state behind A&M and Baylor!  Again cannot talk about it ( Dad) gotta be about it !
22. A guy came into my carwash yesterday that is hunting Campbell land west of Jasper... he had a cool picture or not so cool if you were him of a Mountain lion with the buck he was going to harvest this year in his mouth. CRAZY!!!! :o
