12. LP defense is very capable of holding deer offense. The question this year is can LP offense make plays when needed. For the first time in awhile LP offense has questions. I'm confident LP will win
 13. Joebob, I really appreciate the discussion.  Its time we get to the nitty-gritty of what's t really hindering GCCISD football.

GGISD just don't care anymore. Plain and simple. I'm guessing there is no open enrollment @ GCCISD. THEY SHOULD CONSIDER THAT OPTION.
I understand LP is on the uptick now and Lee is horrible, but didn't Lee just kick yalls butt two years in a row in 2008 and 2009? lol
I would have to check with my statician! Lol
 15. Just offering a different viewing window: whatever happen to taking pride in your work? The will to make work what is given to you?  I understand that the fans want a sexy offense but if it true that the kids are undiscipline as I'm reading and Coach A has brought in structure then I ask what I really important to RSS?  Most good program have a foundation that win or lose they will uphold it it. I'm not getting that about RSS "supporters".  People who have taking over responibility to rebuilt a piec of crap (car, house, gov. Office, restaruant, vacant lot, etc.) Know its an ugly process to make a swan out of an ugly duckling.  I believe that he (coach) is doing the right thing by taking the heat he is taking and to be fair he CHOSE. To come to a program that has the support compariable to a large junior high. So I don't thinki he really cares what fair-weather fans think. And I don't Blame him. So often a coach is ask to be more than a coach to these kids. He has to be a male parental figure, a counsulor, therapist, best friend and so oh(not to mention he still has to perform his teaching duties).  Just be patient TRUE RSS fans and support YOUR program no matter who is there.
I dont disagree with getting rid of the kids that dont have respect, dont come to practice, get in trouble etc...I think he is handling those correctly by having a strict discipline program with basically 3 strikes you are out. Whats crazy is why did it take until now to enforce it? Minyard let the kids run over him with the inmates running the asylum. I do give props to the new guy as he doesnt put up with much BS which should be the case. As for practice, there are a lot of eyes out there and pretty much everyone is seeing and saying the same thing. At the freshman level the parents not happy which bodes trouble for the future of the program. If you lose these kids, and these are a GOOD group of kids on and off the field, then I dont see how this program will ever get going. Most of these kids are very respectful and many are AP students which should be a coaches dream...but if the kids arent having fun or dont believe A)they quit and focus on basketball, baseball, track etc B)They quit and turn into thugs, C) They move to another school, that is what I am worried about. I get the impression that the coach cringes every time Gibson makes a play on a pass because it just feeds the parents and kids into wanting to do it more. Ive watched his reaction and you can tell its like raking your nails on a chalkboard for him. Kind of like the rest of us watching fumble after fumble and  1 yard runs into a stacked 10 in the box defense.
Unless we know what happens M-Thurs, I say we leave the game decisions to the coaches. I like what I see off the field. Right now that is more important to me than W's.

16.
This one has been around for a while. I played in 3 DP wins and graduated from DP 51 years ago. We were in 2A then. ::)
I have one varsity victory over DP. We only played 2 out of the 3 yrs I was on varsity. My senior year we were not allowed to schedule eachother, even for a scrimmage. Its a special rivalry to each community and I hope it continues to grow in fame ( a few state championships will help out in that).
 17. Game week of the annual Deer Park vs. La Porte game. Currently the Deer record is 4-0 and La Porte record stands at 3-1. I'm calling a low scoring defensive battle victory for LP: 13-7 which will even the series back up at 26 with 7 ties shared between the two.
 18. One more course for Dayton, BH, and Crosby to dine on. GGISD just don't care anymore. Plain and simple. I'm guessing there is no open enrollment @ GCCISD. THEY SHOULD CONSIDER THAT OPTION.
 19. So much for that high scoring spread offense Lee runs. So exciting!
 20. Its sports....who cares if someone is blown out.
 21. Staying with my QB.....Bell and the 'stangs by 3...20-17

Watch the spread attack when its ran in fast pace, it will wear out a defense in 5 plays everyone running to a line, that takes tremendous stamina. I think this is a "i miss the old days" moment and is an illusion. Not likeing the offense because you feel the passing ability in highschool is not good enough to run it correctly or you don't like side schemes in the running game, or whatever is something different. This is just a whining session that is "i wish it was 20-30 years ago, nothing less.
I agree Coug, you want life in the 80's, find a time machine...
What do you mean Gas??? It was the 70's. LOL!!!!!! Also by us having jobs during the summer it taught us the value of a dollar and responsibility along with hard work. I would venture to say that if more kids would have a job at a young age. This world would be in better shape instead of being spoiled and lazy. You don't see many kids from the 70's or 80's still mooching off their parents or their parents raising their kids. I would say yes we need a time machine to bring back morals and respectablity to this country.
::) Yes lets all go back to the 60s and 70s when we had "morals". When we had a president killed, draft dodgers galore, "peace" activist who blew up things, hippies running wild, watergate, a gas shortage, a president who couldn't save some hostages in iran, and smasmouth football. ahh the good old days.
::) Well first off I graduated in 1980 and today is any better? 14 million out of work, Half the population does not pay taxes, More people on welfare than ever, Young people don't get married so the government can pay for the baby to be born plus food stamps, diapers, formula, cheese, should I go on. Atleast some of us were reponsible for our own actions.  Yes, they was the good ole days when kids played outside, neighborhood football, basketball and baseball games. We was not in the AC playing X-Box eating twinkie's or ding dongs while drinking a coke or should I say entergy drink.
Im not saying one is better than the other, I'm saying every generation has its problems. When you were growing up the older generation talked about how lazy you were and how you had no morals or direction too. Not everybody today is lazy and irresponsible, but if you have a problem with this generation maybe you should blame your generation for not raising them the right way. BTW LT spread offence 4 consecutive state championships(who else has done that recently?), slc 3 straight state championships, Oregon spread offence and almost lead the country in rushing, Nevada runs the pistol(similar to the spread) and leads the country in rushing almost every year. You keep saying you have to be balenced, but you can be alot more balenced in the spread than in the wing t or slot t. Spread isn't a gimick the only reason you don't see it that often in the nfl is because the hash marks are not as wide as they are in college or high school.
Baytown lee and sterling ran spread last year and you talk about boring! Try H.I.S.D. schools run the spread...boring. a center who can't snap the ball 5yds. A QB that can't pass the ball 5 yds down the field and WR that couldn't run a route with a Garmin attached to their visors. Its quite the entertaining chinese fire drill they have out there.  But hey, lose games how ever you choose.
 24. I watched the Wisconsin game Saturday and that o-line gives me the giddiness. Its beautiful how they excecute the Power-O.
