As far as I can remember LP has run the wishbone, then my sophmore year on varsity we ran Tennessee Vols playbook but still ran the option out of I-back.  LP's calling card has always been 3 yds and a cloud of dust. I respect it. Not until college ball did I realize the beauty of running the ball down a defenses throat! Its demoralizing to a defense to be cut for 3 yds or so over and over and over. 3rd and 2, as a defense you're siked to stop them, you know the offense is running the ball everyone knows the offense is running tghe ball, hike and what do you know....firstdown by a yard. Its like sriking ice cream infront of a fat kids reach and every time he gets within a finger tip of that sweet bliss you pull it back and take a lick of it. Haha.

[/quote] I do..that '93 team is a favored team in LP history. Shame they ran into a much improved Odell James or it would have been state champs. I played P.A. Jefferson my freshman year in high school. I do believe Titans are being grossly misused. Its clear to me that the "spread offense" is hindering their success. Prime example, when I watched the play-off game between LP and Memorial at Stallworth Stadium in Baytown. I watched Memorial die in that spread offense. In the first half Memorial ran the zone option to no success. The second half when the wind (blowing 30 mph) ran faster than Usane Bolt, Titans decided to pass the ball (into the wind none-the-less). Being down 20 Memorial threw screens and curls of 5 yds or less. I knew from then on until Titans get a coaching staff that is not afraid to go against the sexy "spread" the it would continue to be underachivers.

From what I see from LP this year its going to be another tuff LP defense and a "how are they scoring" offense.

A effective offense and a stingy defense.  I have a few Libery county folks filling me in on the Liberty games and couple with the box scores I seriously believe that Liberty is a serious option to win district. Wouldn't that be something that Liberty AND Dayton win their respective districts.

Reports say Davis didn't have a standout game. But he got the "W" so that don't matter.

N.S. are brats anyway. Brenham...I give you credit on the drive. We traveld (as a private school) to Bryan, tx for a game. We left houston @ 1pm and still sat in traffic on the west loop. The drive on an Old Yella is borring and long. Windows down with hot air blowing is not fun. Wood bleachers are uncomfortable for the fans. Ethridge stadium (la marque) I believ is terrible for the parking lot and stands. I would like to hear from more schools so invite others on the board to post.  ;D

How did CV beat Humble? Humble is a region champion by many pollsters, losing to CV doesn't help convince me. Baytown as a city may need to do what hisd does and pick one school and load distric talent into that school. Smh

The Houston Chronicle (take it with a grain of salt) voted Bulldog Stadium (La Porte) to be the #3 home advantage stadium in the Greater Houston area. Judy Dials, who has made several trips to Bulldog Stadium over a span of 5 years, notes the close proxy of the stands and the length of the stands extending the entire length of the field Having played at Bulldog Stadium my entire high school career I have additions to what advantages our stadium holds. 1.) Mosquitos: not as bad as they use to before since the insulation of field turf but still bad none the less. 2.) Visitor locker rooms: again, better (for visitors) now that visitor specific lockerroom was built. Before then teams dressed under the visitor stands ( the original homeside and lockerroom). In there we stored old track equipment and there is NO ventelation in there. A second option is the former fieldhouse. Again that place is outdated. No running water and very miserable in the summer heat. The 3rd otion was "The Hot Box" as La Porte calls it. These are the locker rooms located in the ol varsity competgion gym. Want an ideal of why we call it the "hot box"? Windows located in the court portion of the gym was the only way to cool off in there. Again the locker rooms didn't have vents plus it was meant for roundball not football so 20 players max can dress in there. While I played there plenty of teams chose to dress and break outside rather than in any of the three visitor locker rooms 3.)to be an "open" stadium it still gets loud with a full house, lots of brick surrounding the stadium. 4.) The wind coming off the bay can be extremely privotal at times. What are some advantages your home team stadium has?

I hope the cooler waether come district will aid us in that department. We have a tough game against Klien Forest this week, we need crisp excecution if we are to contain Matt Da. Don't sleep on K.F defense either. Last year they stuff our offesne. They played close to the line acroos the board and went all out to stop the run.
