how is the coaching situation at Ozen? its been awhile since ive heard a good season from them

C.L. Whittington is a coach on the rise. in the 5 yrs he has been HC at SoHo he has taken them to the playoffs twice.  what he has been able to do there is nothing short of amazing. ive meet him and spent a few days in his practices and he is strictly business on the field. if any SEtx school is looking for a coach to take a good talent with great potential to the promise land then i urge u to take a look at him.

knowing that i expect LP defense to play it tight and blitz. our D has put pressure on some great QBs this year.

As laughable as this game looks on paper i know one area in which to be concerned. Pass defense. After watching Westbook have SEVERAL receivers open last friday i cant help but be nervous everytime we play a "pass first" team. And thats what SoHo is.  Their QB Requeno is leading the area in pass attempts. i read that he threw 58 times competeing 36 in a victory. i know LP secondary should be more athletic than their guys but good route running can negate that athleticism.  i'm still choosing LP to win by 22 but thats if AND only if our secondary can take pass coverage serious this game. WB fans i know you saw the few times LP 2nd and 3rd level defense were 10 or more yards seperated leaving a huge gap in which to throw the pass. LP 42 SoHo 20

just looked at the play-off bracket. i see a possible La Porte Vs. Port Arthur Memorial  rematch for the state tourny.  La Porte side of town is winner of 6-4 FB Travisl and 7-3 Clear Creek. the winner of the area round game will most likely face Winner of 7-3 Cy Woods and Ike (how is Ike, i know WB played them).  P.A. Memorial win against Pasadena memorial you most likely will face elkins although dickinson may suprise (home field advantage). and then a most likely match up with alief taylor.  I'm like DISTRICT 21-5A odds in this one.

im not feeling the RSS side being excited about a chance to make the playoffs.  sideline is dead.

well i see no harm in informing a FAN that WB runs a 4-3 SCHEME. if u read my post from early LP games u know i give a full analysis.  Lets be real, THE COACHES watch film any way so its not like this will be new information to them at gametime!

the sterling players do not have a favorable vote of confidence in minyard so i would assume the only insperation from his, lets be real, FIRING will be the kids deciding in some off-beat way to win the game make the play off to say "hey coach, told u we where this good". go figure.

i will be at this game and i have family at RSS. from hearing them talk about the program i say a nice monkey wrench will be thrown into that machine if they make the play-offs.  there are plenty of sharks and not enough guppies in that pool as it is.
