Sorry guys, but I'm not at the game to give updates (family) but I'm glad to see the Bulldogs on top!! Also sadly, I won't be at anymore Friday games...new job and I'm on nights so I will miss the clash with Memorial....  :-\

Who will replace the district HISD will lose bc two team left won't make a complete district.  That may affect the DFW area seeing its growing faster than the Houston area.

Seems like GCISD as awhole is a mess. Really has me considerinhg moving back to La Porte or moving to Barbers Hill so my daughter can go to a stable district. But to be biased I am more a fan of single high school district.

I'm an idiot, a move to 29-3A would put LM into region 4...didn't give it thought before I posted. Well that would make for interesting region 4. I'll have to go look at the successful 3A teams in that rebion...I'm thinking off bat Cuero and maybe Giddings, Gonzales is undefeated this year. CC-Miller is one as well.

I've been hearing a lot of clamour about LM's probable move to the 3A level. I've been looking and district 29-3A looks most likely.  Travel wise it makes the most sense with Palacios being the furthest drive at 2hrs. How does a 3A LM world look?

Even if La Porte is moved out of the district I will continue to add my IMO and tell people about the board.  I wish more Bulldogs would add input but hey, it is what it is.  I wish Greater Metro Houston had a. A successful board. I was sad when the Htxsports board died. But its only the 'burbs that chip in anyway.

Its hard to run a passing offense when you have a QB with no arm.    We can argue schemes again but the more I here the grumblings the more I'm realizing some parents and fans don't know what success is.  Its not inherited, its earned. A new scheme or coach is not going to grant success but the work and support of the players and parents, fans, and community.

[/quote] You forget that a good coach game plans around his opponent. At the beginning of the LP game CV threw curl, slant, and in patterns agains our defense because that's what they saw Deer Park torch us for 329 yds passing the previous game. The problem was the wr dropped passes on critical downs. Now maybe there coach saw some success when late in the LP game a couple of deep balls connected and saw a chance for that to be successful against PAM on film or he gameplanned to stretch Titans defense vertically to set up a more comfortable passing game/run game. But all I know is the kid has had various passing schemes.

As did Sterling for us. So often we forget that each week is a toss up.  I've watched two previous Sterling games b4 LP game and I saw floash of brilliance in only one game. I said that after the 2nd game I watched that if they buy into the system then it would work. Well I believe they did last Friday. It was beautiful...the fullback had 5 gaines of 20+ yds. The corners opened up when the middle was bleeding..The Darkside was out of its normal work environment, now all 11 players couldn't fly to the first option nor could you be too agrressive pass the LOS. What hurt STERLING and ultimately lost the game was attempting to have an impact in the passing game. The wind blew mighty strong and the passes were high and blew short. 3 INTs on good drives. Only one pass made a difference and that's the 3rd and 30 pass that was thrown with the wind.  The match-up was great as with CV and Memorial. I'M liking our chances against NS but I fear the stigma of NS dominance ove LP in recent decades will give NS this game.

This was a serious game. The score and the report says that Falcons gave you that and more? So does CV make it in over westbrook?

Gibson SHOULDN'T have played??? He dikd so I assume that's some internal issue. The triple option gave The DARKSIDE fits. LP defense is built to attack the first option of the ball, I.e. qb handoff to running back or the completion to the wr. The dline was marginalized which put a lot of responsibility on the LBs and most importantly the secondary.  Again, I can't stop worrying about the ability of the secondary Covering.  I'm looking forward to the next 3 games.

Ok, so RSS was driving again, the FB trap was working, well RSS decided to throw again and it was intercepted. LP couldn't do anything with the ball and RSS took posession again with about 6-7 minutes left. RSS drove the ball to midfield and soon made their way to the LP redzone.  A pass interference on RSS on 3rd down pushed RSS to the 45 yd line. LP should have let RSS keep the 4th and 15. So on 3rd and 30, RSS QB launches another orbital duck that is hauled in by someone other than Gibson. 3 bulldogs couldn't get a different result. With 3 minutes left RSS tries to punch it in and finally does with 1:26 left. RSS decide to go for 2pt but due to the celebration had to burn their final timeout (key moment). On the try a power option to the right was stopped by The Darkside. The ensuing onside kick is kicked out of bounce with out any threat of recovery by RSS. LP runs two plays and with 11 seconds left the final knee is taken and victory is had ( that final timeout could have given sterling a chance to return it but most likely i t would have been punted out of bounds given RSS one last hell mary)

LP intercepts RSS pas @ RSS 36 yd. I'm sitting nxt to some imcompetent ranger fans. "Why run the same play over and over...?" Not realizing you can run th e triple option in multiple looks. Smh "Why don't the coach throw the ball only getting 5 yds a rush." Next play RSS throws an INT. The guys then says "well, he tried. It ain't our strong suit. But just throw the D*mn ball". Some people are bad "coaches"
