1. I've been hearing about Manvel all season. if what im hearing is right they should win. BUT i think PNG puts up another half a hundred in this one.
 2. Good luck against that Power-I that Dawson runs, lots of coaching will be needed to stop it. Biggest team i've seen 2 years in a row, they're Giants and their rb is deceptively fast.
 3. Dunno cant get the broadcast to work was supposed to start 24 mins ago.

Better team did not win tonight, the better coached team won. Sad for the kids. Mitchell could have had 300 through the air and 100 on the ground had the staff adjusted. Should have had Mitchell rolling out to give him some options. On the defensive side Central should have went to a 4 man front and stuffed the run. Make Humble throw the ball, they were not very good through the air. QB was inacurate and lofted some throws. #33 was all they had. Make the QB throw more and Central picks a few off!!! Can't believe that Humble team beat Willis by 31. Wonder what we will see tomorrow night? Future is bright for Central if Mitchell is utilized correctly. Needs a QB coach and some time working on timing on all the throws. He had WR open deep all night, but waited too long to throw, but he was making the right decisions most of the night which is impressive for a young QB. Good Season Jags. See ya again next year.
The better coached teams, are generally the better teams.   ::) Does it ever dawn on yall at all that maybe WE didn't play up to par? that WE weren't executing?   So extremely one-sided on this board its incredible.  its SETX or nothing.   i try to be as fair and balanced as possible when discussing things, but yall make it hard sometimes.   If we, and could we's don't win games.... We were down 14....Central was in position to kill us.   We fought back, caught a couple breaks....cleaned up our play...and won. (ITS WHAT GOOD TEAMS DO) geez. the worst ones aren't even Central fans.
To be fair anytime any Beaumont team loses its the coaches fault. 2 weeks in a row now, first Nederland now Central.
 5.
Win or lose the PNG fans show up through thick and thin. That has not changed in forever. Nobody and I mean nobody supports a football team like PNG in the golden triangle. Orangefield is the same way also. We support basketball better than PNG does.
To be fair Nederland travels well too.
 6. #4 Crosby - up 3 The Cougars end their three game winning skid and win at home. The Cougars defense comes alive in the 2nd half and does the job. You meant losing skid.

Question when you go to sleep at night do you hear bahing or is it the Silence of the Lambs?
 8. I know EVERY Rice football player cross-trains in MMA, they argue that it builds core strength and power far better than weights, because its an impact activity. THEY DON'T ACTUALLY DO MMA but they cross-train in it's workout style. Some of the workout routines include. Sledge hammers a large punching bag.  Forearm strike from an above position on a bag. Kick Boxing arobic exercises involving high kicks. Pushing an extremely heavy block weight over, its a leverage technique. etc. Everyone switches between activities every 5 mins and it goes in 30 minute sessions. The WR do the classic Boxer quick bag to develop hand eye coordination and quicker hands.

And im not to shure your a player,i would think you would still be at practice..?[/glow] Hey,    Thanks for the advice!  I told my coach your words of wisdom: "get off the net and worry about playing" and he made us have practice today.  You see, we werent even planning on practicing because it seemed ill fated due to your athletic prowice.  Man, and what a tough practice it was, today we had to hit eachother!  It was sooo scary.  I injured myself pretty bad, and I only cried for 6 minutes until the trainer told me it was only a stubbed toe (what a releif!).  Do you guys even practice?  You make it look so natural!  Everyone over here is used to hearing this little saying that we like, it goes something like "The Cowboys may be America's team, but the Dayton Broncos are God's team".  Knowing that will make it just a little easier to accept the fact that we are going to lose.  Anyhoo I was just trying to keep in contact. Your #1 Fan,  The KP Panther Footballer
OMG i luv this kid.
 11.
Considering Montgomery scored 8 TDs, yes they stopped him enough to get the job done.
To be fair the defensive collapse in the 3rd quarter was why yall won. Not the stopping of Merka. Everyone stops merka to 150 yards and 7 yards per carry. Thats Like. That Manning guy only through for 400, so we totally held him in check.
 12. So.... 7 yrds a carry is stoping Merka? 11/25, 112yards and 1 pick Passing 19 rushes for 134 yards for 7 yards a carry and 3 TD's. I guess if giving up under 150 was your goal you succeeded he still scored 3x on the ground and those passing numbers will be much better.
 13. I was talking to Sumlin the other day. He's a really nice guy and when he has time he talks to students at UH at random. I asked him about recruiting and why people tend to like Florida athletes, he said that their is a perception that they have faster athletes, he also said that he thinks its a MYTH. he argued that you play west coast teams and their just as fast as Florida teams, he also pointed out that if you want a QB you look to Texas, Ohio, or California not Florida. Dunno just a thought from a college coach.
 14. Don't jump on me as a Hater. look to my reasoning. I going to pick KP by 1 so basically think im picking any score. Reasoning is this... whats the MOST dangerous team in the playoffs? A CONFIDENT ONE. WHO IS MORE CONFIDENT THEN KP right now. they could have easily folded muiltiple times to Brenham and didn't. also you look at the Dayton/Brenham efforts from last week and theirs 1 difference... Dayton made the plays to win the game and Brenham didn't i partially think this is because Dayton has a better offense. BUT! KP has a VERY good offense. and a decent defense. i think that Daytons D has thier first major test of the year and gives up 30. (I know how unbelievable) and i think they get 4 TDS but lose a really close one. However i hope Dayton wins. 19-4a needs to keep our reputation up.
 15. To be fair i think nederland was much better this year than last and i think they'll get even better next year.
 16. Hay to be fair i think its a toss up. whats the saying "any given "friday/saturday" sometimes thursday?
[Hidden Content] Go to about the 50 seconds mark. Yes I know it was last year, but it is still Merka.
In last year's playoff game, Montgomery's defense had not prepared for Merka running the ball, they did not know that he could run the ball.
Really... were they blind?
 18. Breakaway speed but LOOK AT THAT BLOCKING!
 19. BH 31 Crosby 0 This won't happen.

Its because its the first time Jacoby has ran like Jackacy all year long! Jacoby had a great game, and to be fair the idea that Montgomery is going to dominate Crosby end to end seems silly. They didn't do it game 1 this year, and their not going to do it now. 56 pts... thats nice question? what was the score at half? question again... How many points did that D give to Crosby prior to the establishment of a back (JACOBY) and a good set of receivers... so MERKA scored 30 on you guys... now what happens when the rest of the team shows up? Records say Montgomery should win this one... to be fair your Marque game is a loss to Brenham and to be honest they aren't as good as we thought they were (apparently GO KP). Squishy district over their minus Brenham. I'd argue Crosby/Dayton/PNG/Nederland/BH/maybe even GP could have gone 1 loss in that district. Central and maybe Dayton would have had a shot at winning it. Listen the cougs gave up 2 big passes against Montgomery that sealed it and opened things up for Montgomery in week 1 the secondary is MUCH improved and the run defense has had trouble with option teams in district, except for Dayton. but tbh Dayton scored most their points on a Wide reciever/rb triple option thing they like to run. Lining up in a singleback with 3 down TE's is a very different offense. MUCH closer than last time and maybe the cougs pull it out. Hoping that Defense shows up again. Its good to see Chuck with a smile on his face he works really hard and i was happy to see him fired up on the sideline this week.
Coogtalk you actually had a pretty good post for once that shows me you do actually pay attention to what you're watching.  Only thing I'll disagree with is the bold....there was no option game going there.  I also agree with Tater that Crosby has not played up to their potential (I believe it was tater).  My gut is telling me that Montgomery wins this game but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Crosby won.  That being said I have to agree with Friogirl as to who I'll be rooting for ;)
Roll your right its not an "OPTION" play its a double read play for the qb he decides who to give the ball too but both people get their hands on the ball. What i see happening is the opposite of last year. Last year the Mont staff focused a bunch on merka and the RB JACKACY ran all over them for a half, then they started to focus on Jackacy and Merka got loose. Now that Merka is passing the ball well as well, it's going to be interesting. I think BH can attest to the accuracy Merka throws with. We were down big to them and one of the best passes ive seen in hiighschool since i watched Colt play in a HS playoff game was thrown. In between 2 defenders just hard enough to make them miss and hit his man in the chest for a 35 yard gain. I'm going to say this MERKA is a MUCH better player this year than last. He was 1 dimensional last year this year he has been very accurate (late in the season). at 1ZANMAN i totally disagree i think whoever wins this game gets beat by Dawson period. Dawson is TOO big for people and they run a power I and are ok with getting 4-6 yards a play, extremely patient. I hope our Defense shows up and if they do this will be a close one. FYI nothing does a defense better than a big stop in a playoff game and our defense got that stop against nederland.

I'll say this. IF Jackacy has a good game, Montgomery might be in BIG trouble. Also With Dobbin been hurt this year... has he lost any of that maddening speed? if so they might be in trouble. The cougs stuck with this team for a half, and then Dobbins got some good blocks in the second half, we were more injured then than now and our front line was depleted, thats not true, its going to be much harder for the Bears to wear down our defense. BUT Jackacy and the Cougar pass game have really been clicking lately if we can be a 3 faceted team we can win this game, make the fear the RB, make them fear the pass, make the fear Merka's running ability. The triple threat should mean the cougs score a bunch and the defense really played with heart against, Nederland which i hope spills over to this game, if so maybe it'll be the cougs trying to get revenge next week. Hope so as i'll miss this game. -Cougtalk.
::) How did that size matchup against merka work in the second half this year? Even Montgomery's smallest player NG Tyler Anderson was stuffing Merka behind the line of scrimmage. The defense came in ready to shut down Merka and they will do it again. As for Dobbins, he hasnt lost a step, ask Brenham. Montgomery owned the line of scrimmage in week 0, they will do it again. Think of the second half from that game, except for 4 quarters on Saturday.
Keep it coming... I remember last week talk about OUR BAD DEFENSE. and then they consistently stopped a "good" Nederland offense.
