It was probably 19-7 at the time. That would have made it 19-14 late in the game. I'm not saying Lee should have won or deserved to win, because Lee was an absolutely, downright, deplorable team last year. I'm just saying that it's not like Barbers Hill rolled all over them like Dayton did to Lee.
I with ya Panama! Dayton would have not beaten us by a 100 if we could have gotten that 1st down in the 4th with 2 minutes to go ;D Man Dayton was lucky 8)
I think Dayton might hang 70 on the Ant Mound this year. :D
I can't explain what happened last year. All I can say is it was early in the season under a brand new O and D scheme with new coaches + 9 turnovers. Even Dayton’s State team didn't beat the Eagles by that much! Dayton had its year that it beat the Eagles like a step child, but it will not become an annual event I Guarantee you.
The time will come when BH lucks out and wins like that other loser to west of Dayton.........and just like that other loser the Broncs will start another "reign of terror" for a decade or so and relegate the ant mound to the ash heap of history
Dont confuse BH with Crosby. Remeber BH is the school that takes Dayton to the WOODSHED in every UIL competition except football. Once BH gets some more numbers Dayton will be the ones recalling the days when they had dominace over the hill ;D Enjoy your reign 8)
Hay now don't bring Crosby into this i might have to side with a dayton fan and believe me thats the last thing i want. Although i question in the post-stewart era (3-4 years from now) if Dayton will be the same team, it will happen with the current kids all had stewart as a coach but what about those kids who will never get coached by Stewart thats when u figure out how good ur current coach is, i expect hes pretty good but is he Stewart prolly not. Although that Vere option offense that BH is running is pretty good, but anyones realistic shot at beating the broncos is a hell of a defense and an offense that can keep the ball out of the Broncos hands (on the 50 or closer). So BH needs a run game, a GREAT defense, and a good punter. swirl that with a little luck and you get a win. Also the jury is still out on the new coaching staff, givem 2 more years and we will see what BH might be.

Keep doubting. =P All I'm going to say. Everyone think's No Merka = no good Crosby? Seriously? We have players we have a pretty decent coaching staff and will always score pts as long as Flannigan is the AD/HC. Merka was a huge loss but... our defense should be much improved and we will probably field a much better rb this year. Combined with a few kids that can actually catch coming up... it'll be an OK year. I think a lot like 3 years ago. make playoffs not much else... but NF? and GCM beating Crosby? GCM played a hell of a game last year but GL to them this year... all those Juniors will be very intense for that game, and hopefully we won't see the same looking for one player to win every game we saw last year. IF we ever decided to put as many athletes on the d side of the ball i think we'd be much improved, but we will see

The Sooners also run it... and TCU... It's good misdirection and if a D loads up on the run then QB can check off to a one on one passing situation with two split ends. Just another way to move the ball... I think it's good stuff!
which is why you are not a coach and on here talking smack. Its too predicitable and easy to cover. Will not work consistantly.
The formation TCU runs is a shotgun with 3 backs surrounding him their are no split ends.
-
The diamond formation is different from a wishbone, for 3 reasons. 1) You cannot run a proper triple option out of it, it's a quick shotgun triple option which means the formation has limited viability in a short yardage setting. 2) quick options are easier to see, and the formations movement is easier to see by LB's 3) your running backs start 7 yards back instead of half a yard back so it means they have 7 extra yards to pick-up before they start picking up yards. It can be done but it's going to primarily be a 2 rb 2 wr set and their will be several flats passing plays out of it, and it's strength is the power option our the power handoff to either side. THIER IS NO FB is this formation.

This kid from Lake Travis is probably very deserving, I was just curious how the kickers in this area stack up against him.
NOPE! he got blocked way too many times, he's a good kid and a good leg but hes slow to the football and it gets blocked. -
No answer forthcoming? Big Ford, why would you doubt me revealing what school I support. I've stated that plenty of times on this board. It's Hamshire-Fannett (about 99% Christian and so small we don't have a Dairy Queen in any of the four towns that make up the school). You and others that replied seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time trying to profile me. From some of the statements, I assume y'all think I do not believe in God. I'm still baffled as to the basis for that assumption. octfeb, I used the word spectacle in the more generic term: calling attention to oneself. I did not imply either negative or positive - just the way the celebration rule is written. I'm also baffled about the fact that none has answered the questions that I posed in a previous post. Instead, all I see is baseless assumptions about my beliefs. How about we try the tactic less traveled: quit focusing on the person asking the question and focus on the question itself. Does a person who prays in the endzone revere his Maker more than a person that gets out of the spotlight to pray? Actually, I could care less about the answer. Let's focus more on Me! ;D
Engle your expecting people to think when its an emotional subject for them... This won't be the board where people answer your questions, look at my positive vs negative rep and that will give you the answer. The answer to your question is having the prayer on the sideline is more reverent than in the end zone. I don't ditest the rule because you can toss the ball to the ref than do the exact same thing. They watch FOXNEWS all day so their ANGRY! in the famous words of FOWNEWS. Have fun. Thank god there is some logic on these boards i was feeling it all went west. -

I might as well get an autograph of any of the 11 kids on the field at any given time...because as of now, they're all pretty even. Merka may/may not see the field at TCU. Look at Cody, all-state QB and state champ runner-up and he's barely seeing playing time because there's ALWAYS someone better, faster and stronger waiting to take their place. I'm sure Merka is a great kid, most of the kids out there are. They are what afford us this board and the ability for thirty-something has-been's to talk smack back and forth to each other for sport. I never lose sight of that aspect, it's you I don't like. as far as dayton being "podunk" and things that shape the world being bronzed...take a look at coach stewart and the kids he's coached.
You don't bronze a local hero unless he gets a Gold star or some other WORLD CHANGING. NOT SMALL COMMUNITY changing, but whatever if you want to waste a huge amount of bronze on an ugly statue go ahead. just wasteful in general.
you are delusional...since you seem to have skimmed my last post without giving any of it any thought... why do you think people become teachers or coaches? to change lives...and in this case, change communities. if the people of Dayton want to celebrate someone who has accomplished both, then I'm not sure why you would have an opinion on that? wasteful? what the heck* are you talking about...it's not like we're burning trees or throwing away groceries...we're talking about honoring someone who has brought pride back to a small town in Texas, which is what this whole thing is about where do you think they get the names for stadiums, fields, high schools and athletic complexes? Donors, historical figures and COMMUNITY LEADERS... just because you guys don't have the pride and tradition doesn't give you the right to judge us...

so to be fair, Harrea not playing in the second half of almost all the district games have any bearing on his stats being lower then Merka? I've stated numerous times.... merka has a case for MVP...maybe even Utility/Ath. Not QB. I know his receivers weren't good, but that's part of it.
If your a PASSING QB and not a true Spread QB Like AH then you need that kind of completion percentage and about 500/600 more yards than Merka to win that award in my opinion, just because completion percentage has so much to do with dropped passes. I guarantee you, you factor out drops and Merka's completion percentage is in the high 50's and he still has more passing yards. But to be fair when factoring in QB's you have to take all thier stats. add 147 rushing attempts for 995 yards and 12 TD's and your left with Merka has 3096 total yards 24 total TD's and 10 PICS Herrea has Less than 2000 total yards and 14 td's and 5 PICS Look at those lines and tell me 1st string all district QB let alone Offensive MVP should be MERKA.

I will point out thier are certian district in Texas that Dayton would be the 3rd or 4th team this year... 24-4a, Brenham/Montgomery district (granted i think they'd be third because everyone else blows), the Brownwood district, thiers others aswell just pointing out closer ones.
