Barbers Hill vs. Nederland Game Thread/BH wins in OT!

GoDogs27....this is a direct quote from YOU in the thread leading up to the game: "Whoever said WOS sucks and always has should just delete their profile and move on to something else. All that does is flaunt ignorance. If Nederland only puts up 14 against BH then I will move on to something else. NO WAY BH has the caliber of defense as WOS.. Again I say.. 38 points"" In regards to the late hit by #32. I saw the play live, saw the replay, saw it on film and then read YALL'S local newspaper article on the game. Ned's QB was ONE STEP out of bounds (even says it in the paper)...#32 was coming full speed. It was a late hit, it was a personal foul and it cost us 15 yards and a starting safety. Not only that but it helped lead to yall's only TD drive. I am in NO WAY trying to take anything away from Nederland's players or coaches. They played their hearts out and kept trading hits in the mouth all night. But you have to get off of this as being a "classless" or "intentional" cheap shot to take out a QB. It's absolutely ridiculous. Please take your own advice and move on to something else. The Dog's defense stuffed us pretty much all night and held us to only 2 TDs. The Eagle's returned the favor and held the Dog's below your "38" AND "14" predicted points output. So move on to something else and yall go handle business with Vidor next week. I wouldn't have even responded to this if you would've said "Yall should've won" or "It was terrible officiating" but you are attacking the character of a quality young man that doesn't deserve it. He's a "yes sir, no sir" type of kid and you are flat wrong. Good luck with Vidor next week...yall should come out on top. I'm done with this topic and you should be too.
Mr. Blitz if you believe everything you read in the paper then you will lead a rough life. I have been to that stadium since the '60s and there is no way that bench is anywhere close to a foot out of bounds! Unless you were sitting on the Nederland side then it would have been real tough for you to see the play because there were to many players in the way. As far as the video goes they don't tell all the facts because they are never at the right angle! Last but not least, how would you feel if it were your QB? I am sure you guys would be throwing a party for the opposing team right! And you are correct in one thing, it's over and you can't go back and change anything, if the officiating is bad don't use that group again and move on!
Trust me Dawgnut....I don't always believe the newspapers, especially those liberal ones! :D The reason I referenced it in there is because the hometown paper generally leans in favor of the home team. I agree, the bench is no where near a foot out of bounds but when a LB is going full speed and hits a QB from the side...the QB is going to land a lot further away than one foot. The video angle I saw was from the endzone about 20 feet off the ground...trust me, there was nothing in the way and it was a great angle. QB was one step out of bounds, period. I completely understand yall being upset, as any team would be...especially with him being injured. I have no problem with that, my issue is with some of the folks on here (especially GoDogs27) attacking a young man's character when it is completely false and unwarranted. His ridiculous and ignorant response to my previous post doesn't even deserve a reply. Let's just all be thankful that the majority of us on here don't share his distorted view ("as far as he's concerned"). Dawgnut, yall have a HELL of a team and will be tough to beat the rest of the year. Best of luck to yall.
Someone cut the film post it on youtube. -
OK Mr. Coug I'm going to have to drive down there, and check this running game spread out. When ya'll play Dayton ?
2nd to last game of the season. I don't expect anything but to be able to run the football and put 21 up. normally 27-28 sometimes more.

The rest of the WR are out there blocking and running decoy routes. It kills the kids from learning the game too. The spread is nothing more then a Run N Shoot or the Fun N Gun as Steve Spurrier called it back in his days at Florida. Crosby Cougars talking about they have 600 yards rushing on the season. How many of those yards came last night vs. Dawson ?
260 of them. o and its 761 yard rushing this year through three games. last 2 games have accounted for most of them. Montgomery's defense must be good =P.

It was the 70's. LOL!!!!!! Also by us having jobs during the summer it taught us the value of a dollar and responsibility along with hard work. I would venture to say that if more kids would have a job at a young age. This world would be in better shape instead of being spoiled and lazy. You don't see many kids from the 70's or 80's still mooching off their parents or their parents raising their kids. I would say yes we need a time machine to bring back morals and respectablity to this country.
::) Yes lets all go back to the 60s and 70s when we had "morals". When we had a president killed, draft dodgers galore, "peace" activist who blew up things, hippies running wild, watergate, a gas shortage, a president who couldn't save some hostages in iran, and smasmouth football. ahh the good old days.
::) Well first off I graduated in 1980 and today is any better? 14 million out of work, Half the population does not pay taxes, [s]More people on welfare than ever[/s], [s]Young people don't get married so the government can pay for the baby to be born plus food stamps, diapers, formula, cheese,[/s] should I go on. Atleast some of us were reponsible for our own actions. Yes, they was the good ole days when kids played outside, neighborhood football, basketball and baseball games. We was not in the AC playing X-Box eating twinkie's or ding dongs while drinking a coke or should I say entergy drink.
underlined things are because of the 80's, and the strikethroughs happened in the 80's as well or are simply statistically false. "The unemployment rate continued to rise to a peak of 10.8% by late 1982, but dropped well under 6% unemployment at the end of Reagan's presidency in January 1989.[60] of the Reagan Administration often point to the fact that the gap between those in the upper socioeconomic levels and those in the lower socioeconomic levels increased during Reagan's presidency; they also note that the federal debt spawned by his policies tripled (from $930 billion in 1981 to $2.6 trillion in 1988), reaching record levels.[61] Though debt almost always increased under every president in the latter half of the 20th century, it declined as a percentage of GDP under all Presidents after 1950 and prior to Reagan. In addition to the fiscal deficits, the U.S. started to have large trade deficits. Also it was during his second term that the Tax Reform Act of 1986 was passed." [Hidden Content] Sound pretty much like today... just different economic system. and we are in year 3 not year 8. but i dunno. I would also like to know why me playing xbox and eating (not twinkies or ding dongs what is this the 80's?) and drinking my ENERGY drink although i'm interested in what an entergy drink is. And why is everyone mad at my video games? is it because you never got any and your parents told you to get lost? so u did?

Yes The reason why nederland lost the game? No this is whats funny people talk a bunch of mess and when they lose they make up excuses. It was one play how does that dictate a team having bad sportsmanship? It was In the heat of the moment both teams played a hard fought game. Now quit making excuses for the loss and take it. Don't blame it on one play they had a chance to win it with a field goal and didn't do it. It was a cheap shot but that didn't lose the game for you Excused excuses excuses..... some people just can't except the fact that they lost to bh!!!!!!
When you knock out someones starting QB intentionally, that has an effect on the game. We lost the game when our receiver caught the ball fair and square in the end zone and miraculously somehow committed pass interference. But its no excuse.. I could care less about losing the game.. I'm way more concerned about our QB and his health after such a cheap blow by BH..
Get over yourself. I'm sure Nederland has their fair share of cheap shots... in fact i know they do. Merka got pushed directly at a bleacher last year... Where were you then? Crosby fans didn't get on here saying YOU meant to hurt him! darn you. We recognized a kid got a little to juiced and hit our guy out of bounds. Sheesh learn some respect. Claiming BH is classless for a single hit? that's very irresponsible, and unwarranted. -

Late hits happen if a kid did it, then he should be penalized if the intention was deemed to hurt someone then the player should be ejected. Was he? If not the officials saw it as a late hit without intention to hurt. This is why its a 15 yard penalty, 100x it happens no one gets hurt and 15 yards are awarded, this time someone got hurt. -

The great coaches will mold the offense around the talent he has on the field. You don't just wake up one morning and say I think I will run the spread. I have no problem with the spread if you have the personnel to run it. Some coaches insist on running it when they don't have the athlete's. As far as conditioning goes, depends on the coach, back when I was in school precautions were not taken like they are now because of the heat. During two a days it was full pads both sessions everyday. During the regular season it full pads till wednesday and shorts and shoulder pads on thursday. We did not have entergy drinks back then either. Because of all the deaths coaches cannot coach like they did 30 years ago. So in reality my gripe is not with the offense but with the coaches who insist on running it when they should not. No doubt the weight conditioning is better today. A lot of us did weight conditioning on our spare time because most of us had jobs during the summer.
Agreed if you don't ahve athletes don't run the spread. Bh figured that out. (no offense but u guys have more big boys than athletes)

I probably shouldn't as it looks like hard times are about to be upon Lee very soon. Harder times than the 1-9 from last year. The last two freshman teams have been absolutely horrendous. Couldn't beat most 8th grade A teams probably. I think they have been outscored 86-0 after last week this year. Last year they were probably 0-10 and outscored 400-25 near as I could tell. (2-0) Dawson Eagles vs. (1-1) Crosby Coogs... Predictions?
I feel, IMO, only my opinion, that PNG has been a little overrated for the last couple of years. With that being said, they are on the right track to getting back to that dominant stature of the old days. PNG just doesn't strike any type of fear into opposing clubs like they used to. I figured Crosby would give them a run for their money but never thought Crosby would beat them. Neither team is at the level of Dawson right now. Dawson shouldn't have any problems getting past Crosby in week 3.
I think Dawson my be drinking their own coolaid, the Cougs will score, if the defense can force some turnovers early the cougs can win this one. Think Dayton 2 years ago give the cougs early confidence and that defense will settle in and play well. 2 predictions. 1) shortest game of the year for the cougars will be 2 great running teams going at it. 2) Cougs win this one by 2 points game in the 20's range. I just don't know if Dawson can score that many times with the ball starting on the 20 every single time. -
