  1. La Porte might end up being the largest school in 5A or the Smallest School in 6A right at the cutoff.
  2. A good Coach cannot make unathletic bad players good. But a bad coach can make their athletes bad football players. A good coach is sufficient for success with nearly any student body. A bad coach will kill talent. 60% Coaching, 35% Kids, 5% other factors. Other factors can be much bigger if there is a major event. Example when Liberty Hill lost their coach they had a different level of commitment to that program and were incredible because of it. They had the other pieces as well but that other factor had huge implications. I do think these can shift.
  3. Like we are getting the 0-8 broadcaster.
  4. So Dr. Patterson is an amazing person no question about it. Having worked with her as a teacher of her child she was always really positively involved. From what my contacts (former colleagues) in the building can tell me that nearly all of her mistakes that are being viewed are about athletics. Every school in the entire district has been measurably better under her leadership. She has taken several schools that had rating issues such as the middle school and Barrett Primary and pushed them into well rated academic schools. The education in Crosby has literally never been better than it is today. Within a school district with 50% free and reduced lunches you have a thriving academic environment. Football coach hire was a failure under her leadership and those ultimately fall to the Supers feet in these sort of districts. The truth is firing the coach and hiring a new one is much more palatable then firing a Super, especially one with a lot of community support and who has measurable achievements. Not privy on the baseball coach situation but I'll take your word on it. Four day work week is in year one that'd be like measuring success for your child at the two week mark and saying your kids an A student. 85 Million Bond is about growth, and getting buildings up and running before every building is beyond capacity. It won't be the last bond because the area is exploding with growth. I wouldn't be surprised if the two high school talk starts again. Too many people forget what a Superintendents job is. It has nothing to do with the football team or baseball team and if that's all your going to look at with a district then you need to get your priorities straightened out. As someone who has three nieces and nephews in the district I could care less if the entire athletics program imploded if it meant my family gets a better education. I'm about as hard core a Crosby football fan as there is but priorities are waaaaay off on this post.
  5. Final score is 100% determined by PAM. Yall like to play down to people.
  6. it's now Willis' son.
  7. That's simply not true. There is plenty of talent on this team, but talent minus coaching = this result. There are three D1 players on this team, just because the other kids aren't D1 doesn't mean they wouldn't have played. The Tight End is really good he's put in bad spots having to catch timing routes over the middle and getting flatlined. The receiving core has not been very good. And we've had plenty of not very good O-lines through the years.
  8. Honestly doesn't matter as long as this is the coaching staff. Pretty sure they won't be able to let the Coaches son run the offense without the kid getting some crazy flack right now.
  9. We all can name them, let them have their time Crosby is down until we drop this coach off but hey our area consistently produces very good football players we will rebuild.
  10. Incredibly impressive this PNG defense is nasty.
  11. Unironically this isn't the worst team Crosby has had, but it's by far the worst coached team we've had in what two decades? Like when I actively want Flannigan back that's all you really need to know.
  12. Don't worry that coaching staff is gone. We are Liberty level coaching right now.
  13. Meh, Crosby's talent is good enough to compete but they have substantially worse coaching than anyone else in this district (outside of Sterling/GCM). Old guy needs to hang it up doesn't have it anymore. Crosby's biggest issue is we had a coach come in and try to make players play his system instead of evaluating what system is best for the players. Crosby is much more talented than their record but when you're coach runs the ball up the middle 25 times in the second half while losing what are you gonna do? Defense looks like a shell of what it was last year as well so it's all the way around that coaching staff. Hope the coach retires, so we can get someone who actually wants to do the job in the building.
  14. Only way Crosby comes out of this positively is with some bunker mentality. The one thing for Crosby is that they need every game now. I wouldn't want to be playing a team with this level of scrutiny from the adults in the area. Granted many of those "adults" act like children. We will see, the defense just got torched by Lee, Lee is generally good for an upset a year it appears. Last year was PAM this year Crosby. I mean given the posters on here we should just forfeit now, why even play the game.
  15. That's not how a post works. Off topic threads get sent somewhere they cannot move the post without the thread.
  16. If Marshall runs through district like they are expected to you will have a very different looking FBM at the end of the year than at any time previous. An Unbeaten team who faced quality opponents.
  17. The real question is how many teams don't put 50 on GCM this year.
  18. My prediction is a bit hopeful probably but Cougars win because their defense shows out and the offense does enough to make it not that close. When comparing athletes Crosby is lightyears ahead but that only means so much when you are stumbling over yourself at every opportunity. Crosby 28-7
  19. It's a bit unclear some claim it had to do with practice fields.
  20. How on earth is C.E. King not ranked after beating Allen but Spring Westfield is when they are about to go 1-2 to start the year.
  21. I'm not 100% sure but the scheme is entirely different it's a 2 back one TE set similar to what you see a lot of 6A schools run. The Oline has been so so bad tho, it's been a long time since we've played this poorly. A lot of people are calling this the worst loss since Elgin in like 09. I'm not the fan that's going to be over the moon or under the bridge about my team until they prove it. They showed a lot of fight against an apparently VERY good 6A team. They got absolutely dismantled by a VERY good 5AD2 Marshall. It's possible that Marshall is just that good or that the game just got away from us but at the end of the day running backs running into each other on 3rd and 3, or wide receivers running bad routes, or offensive linemen compeltely missing entire players because they are using some simple Dline twist actions means you're playing poorly. I'm not throwing the team out with the bath water, I just am not going to sit here an ask for moral victories when you're not executing. It would be completely okay if we got beat because FBM was just better and faster, but the way we got beat and how badly we executed ultimately starts with the coaching staff and the lack of preparation he kids had. Perhaps the staff needed to install only like 15 plays to start and build up through the year but it seems that the kids are lost on offense.
  22. Didn't see this thread up yet so here we go. Crosby had the worst game in a decade last week. Not only did they not execute they played a team that made them pay for every single mistake we made. The offense looked atrocious, the defense didn't look good but how can you when the opposing offense is getting the ball in the redzone every time. We played C.E. King 10x better than FBM and got smashed, but tbf so did Allen (didn't see that coming.) Schedulers gave us no breaks this year either 3rd straight away game against the best of the Baytown schools to start district with the ever present Eagles looming behind this one. It's Crosby's week to put up or shut up honestly. The offensive line needs to move their feet and make some blocks this week. The Running back talent is there, the QB is solid, the TE could be great as well. The Oline and the Wideouts have killed us this season (especially the Oline). Who takes ownership of the current state of the Cougars at the end of the day this team needs to figure out exactly what they are going to do about getting punched in the mouth two weeks in a row. Coaches can call last week a glorified scrimmage all they want but if your not prepared this week Lee is one of the most opportunistic teams in the district. So it's up to the coaches, and the leaders on both sides of the ball to execute. Period. Know your dang plays and execute them, Leaders do, now go do.
  23. It's an embarrassment for the coaching staff in that first half there is no doubt.
