Chester/Milford set for 7:30pm Friday at Brownsboro Bear Stadium

With Palestine withdrawing their offer, Chester and Union Hill are now playing in Elysian Fields, Friday 7:30

I think Chester is the real deal this year. Fudge is doing a great job getting the ball rolling in Chester and I have a feeling they have some good years ahead of them.  They have a great team of boys. I cant remember who on the team are seniors this year but if most of them return they will continue to be great. There is nothing like watching Chester kick the ball off. You can tell those boys are head hunting. I have been seeing a lot of good tings out of Levi Watts lately. Also seems like Jutty Vaughn cant be stopped.

Fair enough.  And although we will never meet up with Division 2 Calvert, the spreads are opinions just like these rankings.  Sometimes they're accurate..sometimes not.  That's why it's played out on the field.  Like I stated earlier, I like our ranking right now even though it means nothing come Round 1 this weekend.  We take one game, one team at a time.  If we keep winning, we will eventually come up on a team that we will be 45 point underdogs.   But win or lose we have still had an amazing year...one that we haven't seen in football in 44 years.  It's a great time to be a Yellowjacket.

I like our ranking...nothing like Chester being included in the ranks with teams like Calvert.  Especially when just a couple months ago, we were being dogged on another forum thread for being the weakest in Division 1.   Cannot wait for the playoffs!

Awesome and such a true statement. Everyone should experience Friday night lights from the kid or parents side of the experience, it really does something special for you,  and as for me it will always be the very best time of my life with memories that could never be replaced.

well so much for being strong during my final senior year    Thanks for posting...I had to share with my other Senior Moms.

The caption "All Classifications" is always misleading when it comes to Old Coach.  What it should say each time is "All Classifications except 1A".  But...I'm not bitter.
 

Yes...The Jackets are 9-0 and District Champs!   If I did my research correctly, the last district title was 1989 (26 years).  I believe there had been a 3 way tie sometime later, but a coin toss kicked Jackets out of playoffs.  The following is the other info I found...if anyone has better info, please share.
Last winning season was 6-4 in 2004 (11 years);  2014 was 1st playoff berth since 1992 (22 years) as well as first district WIN in our 6-man history (5 years).  Last playoff win was 1971 when Jackets won their region in Class B, which was as far as they could go.  They went 11-0-1 that year with their only blemish being a tie in regular season with Colmesneil.  We are looking to win our first playoff game in 44 years. The 2015 Jackets have an unblemished regular season..the first ever.  However, to stay undefeated and completely unblemished to surpass that amazing team from 1971, we would have to win state.
I cannot express how proud I am of these boys that wear purple.  Our team had minimal change of players from 2014 to 2015, but their heart, drive, focus and desire to win completely changed their chemistry and performance on the field.  The talent was always there...they just finally broke out of the rut they were in, pulled it together and executed on the field.  Their hard work paid off.  I feel that this team has the potential to go deep in the playoffs, but even if they don't, I am so proud of the way they have played and fought to win, and how well they have represented our school and our community.  I have to say that God has blessed us with the best kids ever!
We have to wait another week to find out who we meet in the playoffs from District 15.  But no matter the opponent, I think these guys will be ready and willing to face any team that comes their way.  9-0 baby! 9-0!  Bleed Purple.

Sorry, meant to type this earlier, very happy the player was not seriously injured.  A concussion and neck sprain is no picnic, but a lot better than something that would have kept him in the hospital.

Glad he is ok.  I want to see one of these six man games one day myself.

Wyatt was released from the hospital.  He suffered a concussion and a sprained neck.  We are happy that it was not more serious than that.  
 
Apple Springs suffered their own injuries and we wish them a speedy recovery as they have Leverrett's Chapel next week.  Good Luck to both teams.
 
Thanks to the SETX staff for being at the game.  Our boys were very excited to find out that we were getting some extra eyes.
 
Yes, AAW we run multiple tight I-formation sets, as well as spread it out.   Whatever works well for us on any given night.  Just trying to find a way to win a ball game.

I'm glad to hear that Wyatt's injury was not so severe as to warrant a longer hospitalization.  Prayers on a full and fast recovery.

Completely bias, but I think it is the best atmosphere anywhere.  Great stadium named for a great man.

As most games are played on Friday, I would like to extend an invitation to fellow football fans to come out to Aubry Bradley Stadium in Chester Saturday, Oct 17.  Chester hosts the High Island Cardinals for their Big Homecoming 2015.  The Homecoming Queen ceremony starts at 4:30 and kickoff is at 5pm.  For those who have not had the chance to watch this quicker version of football, I encourage you to make the trip.  Sixmanfootball.com has the Yellowjackets picked to win but I can promise you, High Island will not lay down and give it to us.  This game has great potential to be a high adrenaline shoot out and the Jackets are hungry to stay undefeated.  Last year the Jackets took the game from the Cardinals on their home turf, but the difference was due to key turnovers with great defensive plays.  It was an exciting game then and I don't expect any less excitement this year.  So load up your tailgaters and lawn chairs (cause it should be packed) and come watch some six-man football..I don't think you'll be disappointed.  And come hungry..we have pretty good burgers too.

This is what I found out...  The field was built in 1933 but not played on until 1944 (although at this point I am unsure why) and had hardwood bleachers on both sides.  Games before 1944 were played out at the old Pump Station.  The concrete bleachers were built in the early 1950's by a government work crew called WPA (and for those that are unaware they are only on one side of the field).   So today it is 82 years old but we are playing our 71st season at Aubry Bradley Stadium since it was 11 years before it was used.  How is that for history!  I love going to games there because it is so nostalgic.  We probably have one of the most unique and oldest stadiums in use today.  People may make fun of us but I wouldn't trade it AT&T stadium or any other.

For those of you that are not doing anything on Saturday you may want to drive out to Chester and watch a little sixman football. This should be a very good game to watch as Chester hosts High Island.

you think those cement bleachers in the side of the hill will hold everybody? if you do go get you a burger from the concession stand.
