  1. I'm messing with the smitty fellow, he is always popping off about stuff he usually doesn't have a clue about. ;D
  2. CARE group was the biggest reason this bond failed, period. They got their message out to the whole community, they ran a better campaign. I will never agree with them but they did have the biggest impact on why it failed.
  3. Forney will be unstoppable at receiver this year, 6'6" wideout, wow, I can't wait... I guess you were referring to the position of QB at PNG right smitty. I know you can't tell us the name of the QB ;D
  4. No need to explain, most young couples moving into this area will start their children in schools like PNG. Remember CARE was doing this for the kids, just so happens it was the kids in the other districts. ;D
  5. Yes - $20,000 less than last years budget, or the same amount CARE spent to help our kids. ;D What's your point smitty, I guess CARE thinks we need to cut the athletic budget? Great idea! ??? I can't wait to hear some of the recommendations made by the CARE board spokesperson. I can hear it now, Example being, so you say our maintenance budget runs around $450,000 a year and we need more money in that budget, this is easy, let's cut this budget and that budget, and this salary, and cut this job, let's do away with that program, O.K., now that should do it, ???What, what was that you said Mr. chairman, we need millions to get that repaired. Man, I guess we need to put together a bond to get us back in shape.... One thing I will agree on is our maintenance budget is way too small to take care of our schools and buildings. But, there is not enough major budget cuts or budget moves which can be made that would help properly fund it. That is what the freaking bond was for. We are so fortunate that CARE was not around when the Performing Arts Building was done, we wouldn't have it today. This is gonna be fun keeping up with.
  6. When will all of you understand, smitty and all the CARE people have no answers. Give the newly elected board time to meet a few times and see what happens. Their leader will soon see the truth first hand. Give it time. It wasn't 20,000 smitty, but then again, I didn't expect you to give an actual true number. ;D Look smitty, I'm done with this topic, CARE has no answers to our school districts problems. The newly elected spokesperson for CARE will soon find out this and will bring you all over to see it our way. Our schools budget can not maintain the level of building integrity our kids deserve. The bond would have given our district the maintenance relief it needed, that is what was meant by Mr. Sandersons quote, “The bond was a crushing blow,†Sanderson said. “It puts us in a bind for the budget and I don’t know how we’re going to handle it.†If you can't see that now you never will, so that is why I'm done arguing this with you and the rest of your group.

  8. The way I see it, there are now two anti-bond board members who will soon be saying we NEED a bond. Give it time. Once they see we have no other choice, they will restructure and propose another bond.
  9. Very good point, one I too had a problem understanding. Time to restructure the bond and go at it again.
  10. Your numbers are exaggerated a bit smitty, same trending information from a reliable source I "C.A.R.E." not to believe. ;D I believe Penny has more historical numbers for you to believe since those are the numbers from an actual case and not one of what if's. Like I have said before smitty, you do keep it live on the board... ;D
  11. This one is easy, PNG. Nederland had success the first year they abandoned their old offense. PNG will adjust to have success the same way. I don't put a lot of stock in saying it takes a year to get a program going. Most players are two year starters, with good coaching, give them a spring, summer and fall and they got it down. PNG will be most improved team next year.
  12. Will the Nederland Bond Pass or Fail? I say it passes 54% for and 46% against.
  13. Didn't Jon Davis play some QB, or maybe RB and QB. He went on to play baseball for Texas Tech and Lamar and played some for the Chicago Cubs minor league.
  14. Smitty, you do keep things comical on this site. ;D
  15. No question, Earl Thomas, and you can go back many many more years and it would still be Earl Thomas, this kid is a big time player in college and Will be in the pros...right it down..
  16. when was the last time nederland baseball went to the playoffs? 2006? I know not in '08, but I don't think '07 either. How about '06? Undefeated district champs in 05, playoff bound 06 missed playoff 07 and 08. Congrats to 09 team!
  17. Kevin Barbay was a good one, Dustin Hood too. Brad Sullivan for sure would have ran the spread offense all the way to state.
  18. Vidor - they could have the same Lumberton type year run in district.
  19. I see Vidor being strong next year. This could be the year for the Pirates to finally get in the playoffs.
  20. Let's see Nederland 32 - WB 16 in 02 Nederland 17 - WB 14 in 03 Nederland 14 - WB 13 in 04 Finally WB comes through Nederland 28 - WB 49 in 05 Lot's of stuff changed after 05 but Nederland ducking WB was not one of them...Too many coaching changes in Beaumont to keep any type of run going, same thing with PAM. Just when you think you can build a home and home schedule with a team they go and loose a coach. I just wish Nederland would play PAM every year!!! ;D
  21. I'm pulling for Grant Lovelady to get the chance. I agree with some of the other posts, the kid will have the stamia to go both ways if called to. Kid seems to have a love for the game and it's always good to see that type of kid get the chance to prove himself.
  22. I can't imagine anyone other than Kirby behind center next year, but you never know. Tough to lose the experience on the line but somehow they pull another group together year after year. Huber will be missed for sure as will the others.
  23. BMTSoulja1 keep it quiet about where I was Tuesday night.
  24. O.K. boys, got this thing unlocked for ya. Now, Friday night you guys keep it clean, loud, and you will have a lot of support.
