The Nederland Basketball team will be celebrating senior night this Friday at home against Vidor. Come out in full support for Coach English and the boys who brought back playoff basketball to Nederland. Don't just sit in the stands board, I mean, bored, ;D stand up, get loud, and let the team know you got their back.

Bring the BOARD to the game, keep it clean, have fun with it, and pump up your team from the stands. What the heck is wrong with that? I hate it when the good kids get knocked around, the ones who obey school rules, make the grades and represent their schools well, I hate it when they get put in the same category as the ones who could care less about the school and school spirit. I was against the dress code and this is just another example of what a person in charge does to try and dictate a situation. Why not try and give the BOARD operator guidelines to follow, monitor it, and see if the kids can follow your guidelines. Wait, that would actually be trying to teach, educate, and bridge trust, we can't do that. Yep, it is much easier just to put the kid in the same category as the bad kid and take away the fun of being a high school student. Give the kids rules to follow, if they follow them it's because they have respect for you. That is how you get respect from the kids. Don't just throw a rule out there because it makes YOUR job easier. Bring the BOARD. Now if the board guys have already broken the rules then I retract all of this, but until they break your rule, how fair is it to judge them this way, kinda like all the kids who obeyed the rules already in place for the dress code, but that is another subject. Kind of silly to talk about this stuff on a message board, almost as silly as someone in charge telling a kid he can't bring a dry erase board to a school basketball game...Again, keep it clean and wheres the harm, flat telling a kid no without seeing if he can respect your guidelines, now that is wrong without argument. Go Dogs! P.S. - I only wrote this because I know the boys involved, and I know they love their school and are good young men. Again, if you give them rules to follow and they do, where is the harm, and, who has gained their respect?

Gonna be tough to keep a honeymoon alive when you drop your first 4 years straight to big ned.... ;D ;) on a more serious note, I hope the guy comes in and does a great job, if not, I'd say the honeymoon lasts about as long as the PNG scoreboard stays on after a Nederland win....not long ;D ;D

Wow! what a finish. Great job girls. Glad I hurried back from the football game to see this one! From Thursday to Saturday you played great. Special congrats to the Senior girls, who for three years have stuck it out since your Sophomore Varsity season and earned the right to Play, and Win, a Championship Game, Your own tournament at that, Way to go girls. Nice to see each of you finally experience playing in a big game. This should help all of you in the tough district ahead. Congrats also to the underclassmen who recently got bumped up for the tournament and got to play in a big game. Again, congrats girls ....

Well it would be nice but i dont think they elected to use em since they were not done yet,(my boys on the undefeated jr tackle team) but maybe next year, were already set for Ned this year 1st round and Superbowl Good luck with the game Saturday, hope your son does well, enjoy each game cause if you blink it will all be gone. I heard it was fear of losing the coin toss and being forced to be called the "Home Team". Superstitious people ;D ;D I drive by the stadium everyday from work and can't believe that is a high school stadium, really is gonna be special once complete. Nice job Pt. Neches, wish they would at least let the little jr. football teams play their championship games there. Boys would get a kick out of that.

C.E. King had more speed than any team we faced this year and we still contained them enough for the win. They went wide on the two point conversion and we stuffed them. They tried to go outside after the onside kick, we stuffed em and caused a fumble. Seems to me more good happened on the outside than bad. I believe the defense earned the right to say they can stop the run. Don't you think the DC for every team we face is saying the same thing about containing us.... It is not the DC, it is being able to make the play, how many times did we have men in the right place and just missed the play, it happens. I think our defense is better than what most think but that is just another opinion. You miss plays, you make plays, the team who makes the most good ones wins. Watch the film and see how many times we were in the right place and missed, then try to blame a coach. Missing is not blame, just make more good than bad and all will be good. Got it....So far, we are doing more good! If Nederland can get healthy I say we win by 6

Nope, simply a bad move on Asa. Sit him out, forgive and forget, move on... Now, if he pulled this stunt next year at Lamar, in college he would have paid a much deeper price... I guess Asa forgot about the butt kicking Nederland took last year from Lumberton and figured he didn't need the practice....Asa is a good kid, better to learn his lesson now...

Seen both teams play, Vidor takes this one if they can contain the QB!!! Up to now not many have...Corrected my statement!!! Not many have stopped him.

This was the type of game that "Legends" are made of, or, "The Legend" is shut up!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;) Great game by both teams. Vidor gets the biggest win in my book from the opening prayer to the show at halftime. Both were first class and much appreciated.

Nederland 31 Lumberton 14

Just left the JV game, Nederland ahead of Vidor 29 - 0 at halftime. Nederland won the freshman game also but I don't recall the exact score, I believe it was 28 - 14.

How about Asa Cardenas, Jude Vidrine, Ryan Brady, and Brent Salenga just to name a few... if Vidor lets them get open, watch out.... Yeah, I was very impressed with Cardenas and Vidrine came up big late in the game. Very good players. That being said, can I assume that you mean Nederland would more than likely rely on a passing game? That is what I'm gathering... They would replace Grogan with a Jr. by the name of Grant Lovelady, not as big but just as strong and faster....Plays linebacker, might see him anyway if Grogan plays some defense Friday night!!!! ;D ;D ;D

This might be the best way to look at this game, only thing is when Nederland jumps out in front by three touchdowns Vidor will abandon their grind it out offense and dig themselves even deeper in the hole.... Again, this is only my opinion it's not really how the game is going to turn out.... ;) Look Vidor guys, this is only a message board, I'm not trashing your team, running my mouth, nor do I have sour grapes, just pointing out what I feel is the obvious, Nederland wins....Good luck to ya, and enjoy the trick or treats Mr. Grogan will be bringing Friday night...

I won't have to make excuses. I haven't been on here running my mouth about how my team is going to win in a blowout. If you read my predictions it says that I see it being a close game that could go either way. All you have to do is read. Why is it running my mouth when I make a prediction and its not running your mouth when you do... I just think Nederland matches up against Vidor in a way that will lead to a blowout type game.... I still think Vidor has a good ball club just that it doesn't do well against what Nederland does well. Name a bet, I'll back my dogs.....What ever is considered a blowout that is what I predict,,,, to most on here anything beyond a 12 point game is a blowout,,,,,I say it's over a 12 point margin.... I hope for the 42 to 14.... I'm not in the habit of betting on the performance of 16 yr old kids, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Good luck to both teams. No sour grapes here vhs, two years ago, let's see, you guys beat Nederland and still couldn't make it to the playoffs... Two years ago Nederlands back was against to wall to get into the playoffs and they did, and you guys, well enough said about that... Win or lose I'll stick around the site...excuses, let's see who post the excuses after the game ;)
