42-21....coulda been whatever Vidor wanted. Something needs to happen at Kelly!!!! getting trashed by a very good 4a team is one thing..........this...losing bad to Splendora.......unacceptable.......................... Kelly is an extremely young team..with the exception of Quinn, Anderson, and Adderton they have first year starters at nearly every position. The line is extremely young and are playing their first full varsity season. Still trying to find their way as a team. Bridge City played well and ran the ball extremely well. Kelly will improve.

The five out offense isn't really a shooter offense it is built to find mismatches and exploit people off the dribble to make the defense collapse and open up passing lanes and drives to the basket.

This is the same crap that happened with Strake Jesuit...They started winning games and the recruiting talk peeps up...Kelly Starts the season well and here comes the recruiting talk. First of all Kelly has NUMEROUS students that go to Kelly on aid that are in the band and participate in the fine arts program...should we just dump them on the streets? Or are we "Recruiting" for our band? Kelly is and has been for the last ten years the best education in the town with only 450 students Kelly has had two perfect scores on the SAT, Ryan Sheffler and Blake Iceton, they have students attend MIT, Notre Dame, Duke, Texas, Princeton, Yale...your telling me parents dont want to send their kids to Kelly for that? bmtfbfan..you have all this inside info why dont you share it with all of us. Kelly has had STUDENTS who lived in port arthur and participated in athletics...but they have had kids who were from orange, lumberton, and silsbee too. Kelly has feeder schools outside of the beaumont area i.e. St. Catherine, St. Mary's. Take a look at the Kelly roster this season find me the recruits will you? Eddins, Schrapps, Wilson, Lighty, Martin, Figueras, Palermo, Rugg, Quinn, Guidroz, Almond, Messina, Anderson, Busch these are all St. Anne's kids...People forget that St. Anne's fields a highly competitive football team that produces the large amount of Talent for the Kelly program. You want the Basketball roster for the upcoming season too? Schrapps, Pace, Parker, Messina, Boudreaux, Ledet, Moncla...where are the recruits? Kelly has a couple of players who live in Port Arthur and everyone loses their mind...but the MVP of the team over the last three years, Fazio, Carona, Prewitt, and Quinn...All came from St. Annes.

Final Kelly 42-15 Kelly had 460 yards of offense, 260 on the ground. Palermo, RB, has a hundred yards on the ground. Adderton had 92 yards on only 6 carries and caught a couple passes. Eddins had 200 yards though the air, looked very sharp. Schrapps had 4 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown. Lighty had a nice catch and was very impressive on kickoffs.

Maybe you should go take a reading comprehension class at "The Brook" because I didn't mention anything about the score. Yeah let me tell you Kelly tried to buy the refs...If that was the case we wouldnt have had nearly as many dumb penalties as we did. But go ahead keeping say she and all your oh so cool stuff. Try and put some points on the board tonight against Ozen its been awhile since "The Brook" has scored.

Maybe now. But that is why you play pre-district. And playing a passing team like Kelly will get them better prepared for teams like Nederland. Sorry, bassman, but that is what the predistrict and scrimmages are about. And for those saying Vidor had trouble with the pass, I didn't see one touchdown through the air except for the one botched pass in the first quarter. After we started blitzing, Eddins threw incomplete a lot more than completions ... especially when they were in a pass situation. And the penalties called on two of the pass plays should not have been called as the ball was ten feet over the receiver's head and therefore uncatchable. The ball does still have to be able to be caught right? One of them was sailing out of bounds even. Maybe someone changed the rules when I wasn't looking... The only thing I can say to that for the Vidor players to improve is this: When a QB is throwing right into your hands, CATCH THE BALL! Don't just knock it down! ;D But hey, first real game jitters. Two more games to work the bugs out. And for those of you making excuses, Kelly has some big ol' boys on that line. Don't start discrediting them. They are going to tear some of their regular opponents a new you-know-what once the games start counting. What he is saying though is that when Eddins had time he had a fairly easy time completing the ball. Our O Line will be a quality one soon but there are just so young right now...all in all for the majority of them it was their first varsity game...Good Job Boys.

I was thinking the same-not quite as good as what I have been reading-but it is the first game. They will need to improve on defending the pass, but with the type of defense they run that is how it's going to look. As long as we can score we will be ok!!! District will be tough, but we are very well conditioned and sometimes just wearing the other team out is all you need. Yeah thats what I didnt really understand from vidor. It was really obvious kelly wasnt going to be able to run the ball but Vidor played man to man coverage the majority of the game with no safety help? Is this the way they run their defense?

They were undefeated all season short, they actually played their worst game against the team they lost to they were clearly the better team. I was at the game and it was a shame really I saw Duncanville once last season and they didn't look good. But it was a major powerhouse they lost to in the tourney. Duncanville looked so disfunctional it looked like 5 players trying to share one basketball was never going to work

I am not bashing a high school player... and I do believe what I said was the absolute truth...I said I wasnt rooting for the kid to fail which I'm not but when you don't complete necessary coursework that is wasting your potential. I dont think Kelly's varsity was weak last season....How did Barbers Hill Do? He is not the most physical player around. Are you sure Jake Miler isn't Tim Tebow? Are they going to do a piece about he stopped global warming after he ran the 1600

Bench Warmer-What Would you say if I know for a fact that a kid who is ranked in the top 50 on texasroundball.com wanted to attend school there but could not afford it. When a family friend contacted the coach, the coach didnt even return the call. Like I have always said if strake finished 4th every year no one would care. Its the winning that bothers you.
