Reread you post above....lol..... Every sports Silsbees play b4 the season start you'll get on here talking about how Silsbee WILL BE THE DC......THE MORAL TO THE STORY IS DONT COUNT YOUR EGGS B4 THEY HATCH.

I highly doubt hotrod gets on here before the season starts for every sport. I would be willing to bet he doesn't give 2 craps about football and basketball.

  2. He's talking about current kids that play baseball year round and no other sports.  We played 12 little league games plus a few all-star games then moved on to the next sport.  We didn't have the option of select baseball year round so we had to find something else to do.

I know what he's talking about. I'm talking about what was his reason for having Tommy John? I didn't play year round, and I had Tommy John. What exactly is year round baseball? Do people actually play non stop 12 months a year?

  3. Ive seen shugart throw in the past and know he is a heck of a high school pitcher..but when does 86-88 with a slider equal a pro pitcher? Im sure he touches 90-91 but he doesn't pitch there that I have ever seen. I know he is a bulldog on the mound and love that fire but is what kind of pro prospect is he really coming out of hs? Is he expected to be drafted?

I got drafted out of high school pitching at 87-88 toping out at 91. I wouldn't say it can't happen, but it is a little less likely nowadays since they don't have the draft and follow rule anymore. However teams will take a chance on kids if they believe they have good projectibility. I'm not saying this is the case for Shugart, as his size really doesn't help him out much. I've watched him pitch numerous times this year, and I would say he sits at 89-90. Haven't seen 94 myself, but have been told by someone I trust that's he's hit it. His biggest asset in my opinion is his competitiveness. He's gonna stand on the mound and punch in you the mouth repeatedly.
  4. And they threw him. Like I said earlier prob could have won without him and let him rest.

Could come back to haunt them.

You, don't rest your best pitcher, because you are gonna play again a week later possibly, and you dang sure don't rest him in the playoffs. I'm pretty certain 6 days rest is plenty.
Go back to the Silsbee thread where you were second guessing that coaches pitching decisions also.
