  1. I would disagree. It may have allowed them to hit more HR's, but aside from the occasional "dink" hit that's about it. The ball will "jump" off of any bat with a good hitter.

The bat has no impact on the mechanics of the swing. Most scouts will not even look at the flight of the ball. They want to see the hips, the hands, etc...

The BBCOR bat was choked down for safety reasons. Because with a good hitter, it was a lethal weapon.

    Absolutely
  2. What was Shepherd's record last year with the Kolek brothers both throwing 95+ in 3a? I believe they finished under .500 and were bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Their defense was horrible though. Any ball put in play was booted. Great pitching doesn't matter if the defense can't make plays behind you.

I would take good pitching and great defense. I can figure out a way to scratch a few runs across the plate.

If your defense is that bad, good hitting probably wouldn't matter much. I would take good pitching over hitting any day of the week. My team is built around pitching, we hit great sometimes, but when we don't we're usually in the game still because of pitching.
  3. I know you man...and I know you got class...Soph or not Weyler pitched a great game...Kountze hit like poopoo...that's baseball. Kountze had a chance in the seventh and did not make good. Great game Warren... See ya next time guys!

You're right. However your buddy rubbed me the wrong way earlier. Fact is, not everyone knows if kids have been offered or not, and for him to come at me like I'm some idiot, I think I will have a little fun with it. Good luck to Austin the rest of the season.
  4. So you assume because I put LOL I'm in disagreement? And I never said I knew everything about baseball. So calm down and get your panties out of a knot. So if you could please tell me which colleges have offered him I was just curious? If you don't know then good day sir.

Maybe I assume because of the way you wrote it, followed by lol. I also assume that you think you know everything because I read your comments on this site regularly. Again you know so much, you should know which 2 schools. Since you're having a hard time I'll help you a little. It's 2 very good baseball schools out of Houston.
  5. I can name several that have had those opportunities, mainly all those that finally signed this past November...like I said congrats to the young man! I hope I get to see him this evening...I love watching talented kids play ball.

You're right, several do.....but according to you buddy it seems as it doesn't happen. "Lol"
  6. As a sophomore? Which two? Lol

What's the lol for? Wait I forgot you get on here and talk like you know everything about baseball. I can assure you that you don't. Are you trying to imply that I made that up? What would I get out of making something like that up? "Lol"
I won't name schools, but since you know everything you can figure it out for yourself. Btw, did you know Ford Proctor got offered his scholarship to Rice as a sophmore? "Lol"
  7. Where is the ball game ?? Start time ?? I think Weyler is a Junior but I'm not real sure. I know he pitched a good ball game against EC,other than hanging a couple of breaking balls he was pretty sharp. I haven't seen Warren but once this year but they did put the ball in play in that game. They usually field the ball pretty well and this year should be no exception. I think they have Buna later this week and they have been playing very well also. Kirbyville I think lost to the Cougars on Friday. The district race may well be a lot clearer by the end of the week.

    He's a sophomore.
  8. Exactly.. We could be arrogant and boastful especially after beating Kirbyville. But we haven't and we know this district is tough. But sure I'll say Ryder has the edge not because of his experience but because he is the better pitcher

You do realize Weyler has already been offered by 2 d1 schools? What about Ryder?
  9. I think teams should be able to play in any of the tournaments they wish.  USSSA holds world series in Sulphur, but to qualify you have to play so many tournaments in your home state.  Since the Piranha's are banned from playing local USSSA tournaments, the teams would have to travel to play to be eligible for the world series.  I know this didn't affect all of the teams, but the younger teams it does.  Nation's doesn't host a local world series from what we found, I believe they start at 9U, so the 7U & 8U kids who's team can't travel no longer have a chance to play in the world series. What kid wouldn't love the chance to do that?

Back in 2012 when my team was 11, we were scheduled to play Usssa and Nations tournaments. We were scheduled for a usssa tournament, then on a random Wednesday usssa decided to suspend all Gladiator teams from usssa for the season, cause they didn't like the fact that all the teams weren't playing all of the local tournaments. That wasn't right to my 11 kids that were on the team was it? But like you said buddy, it's all about the kids right?
  10. Why does it matter which teams play in which tournaments. Is there some sort of requirement to play in a tournament held in Beaumont, just because you're a local team? Should teams have to play every local tournament just because there is a tournament held, no matter how many weekends in a row they have played? Aren't the usssa tournaments free, if so are they taking business away from them by not playing?
