1. It's not fair they mentioned SHSU over LU! We have an advantage over them having the having one of the best athletic facilities in the Southland Conference! Why they mentioned SHSU over them? Is it because they're closer to Houston (one hour from there)? LU is closer to Houston but only one and a half to two hours away! Does it make any sense at all?

I am a season ticket holder (all three seasons now, and also currently 13 years for basketball). My family and I did not attend the game yesterday because we donated our tickets to a local charity (Special Olympics) so that a family could go who had never been before. That family did attend from what I was told.

Now, had we kept our tickets for yesterday, I highly doubt my family would have gone because of the weather coupled with the fact that the game was televised. My youngest son has autism and he doesn't do well at rainy games. It's just not conducive to a fun afternoon for our family.

I have no problem with the 3pm games. It's all the same to me.

I agree, the product is not what I would like it to be, but it is not the determining factor in our decision not to attend.

The combination of rain (or possibility of) and TV will always hurt home attendance. SLC TV did the game, not much Lamar could do about that. But I think it is always a mistake to have a local TV station broadcast home games live, which Fox 4 did a couple of weeks ago.

You did what is right, AggiesWeAre! You know I'd like to volunteer for the Special Olympics! Other than the crowd, the TV broadcast should have been blacked out in my opinion! Also, the Cards didn't win because they didn't play as well as expected! Other than that, they need more fans in the stands!

Change will never happen overnight! Change is going to be gradual! Those are my thoughts on that! Just ULL, USF, UCF, etc., they took plenty of time to get their football program to the top! If LU follows suit, it'll take time for a FBS program to be competitive (only if they go that level)!
UTSA is 3-0 starting their football 1 year after Lamar.

Last year was USTA Football's transitional year because it's their first year of existence! They improved significantly! It'll be very competitive when it comes to recruiting for college football for San Antoine pretty soon because UIW started football most recently and will be an upcoming member of the Southland Conference! I'm hoping there will be a UTSA-UIW rivalry like in the Alamodome!

    http://www.chron.com/sports/headlines/article/Turf-for-non-NFL-events-coming-to-Reliant-Stadium-3875501.php

I smell 3-4 game Saturdays coming back like they had in the Astrodome come playoff time  ;)
I used to love playoff Saturdays at the dome......you could catch 4 games on a Saturday.....great times
I miss those "Dome Dogs".....somehow someway i'd get 2 for the price of one  8)
Don't forget that tepid, $8 Dome Foam.
The last year they had UIL play offs in the Dome someone forgot to tell the vending company not to serve beer.  I walked up to the counter with BHFan and they had tapped the kegs.  We ordered as many as we could carry (yes $8 a pop) and headed down to the seats.  At least 5 rows in front of us an behind us rapidly made their way to the concession to find they had been informed this was a UIL event.  We sipped our beers and turned down lucrative offers from several folks.  You would have thought we had a trey full of false teeth in Dayton....... ;D ;D
yeah, um, about those beers, the UIL would like to see both of you at their headquarters immediately following your first round playoff exit this year to discuss the consumption of banned beverages at a UIL event.
Man, I'd gladly make that trip to see the UIL if that means we make the playoffs.  Maybe we need to sneak in in that 4th spot and change our luck.

I am SO READY for playoffs in Reliant.  Jerry's World sucks, the drive sucks, the food sucks, the prices for the food really sucks AND it's the Dallas Cowgirls stadium on top of it.
Alright now that is your opinion and that is fine...but your not giving Jerry World credit.  Food is expensive at any pro stadium.  The drive is gonna suck unless your playing in your own backyard.  We live in Texas...its a big state...get used to it.  The seats are quite comfortable and all have a good view.  And to top it all off...the kids (you know the important ones in the conversation) absolutely love playing there.
Bottom line, ALL things Dallas suck.
AMEN to that brother!!!!!!!
Haters!!!
Reliant has the cheapest beer in the NFL according to an article from the Houston Business Journal but who cares? $8 is the same price when I go to a gas station and buy like a six pack of beer or almost four 16 to 24 oz cans!
  5. Dr. Thomas needs not be the President of Lamar! I don't he has experience teaching college nor being the administrator of higher education! We need some who is well qualified and has experience as a administer of higher education! Hiring Dr.Thomas would be a bad choice in my opinion!  When Dr. Simmons was hired as President, he had experience of being a professor, band director, and dean, all at LU! We want someone like that! Don't y'all agree?
  6. Tom Berenger who played Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant in the movie The Junction Boys quoted, "I don't care who your father is. I don't care if you're All-State whatever in high school, and I don't care what the last coach promised you. You did stuff your way! We're going to work now!" Did any of your coaches use that mentality? They should go back to days like these when coaches care less who their fathers were! I know Cowboys Coach Garrett is doing that! What do y'all think?
