  1. Playing Sulphur as a scrimmage or during the regular season to me is a great idea! One year, Kelly and Lumberton played them during the reg. season and played well. One year, WOS, Jasper, WB, and Sulphur had a jamboree scrimmage and both played well against Sulphur! I'd love for that to happen! Hey, LCMS coach Crouch was a coach in LA before being a coach in TX and is experienced in stuff like that!

Some of WO-S' volleyball players are cheerleaders and/or members of the drill team and it's tough for them to balance volleyball and other stuff during football season! These volleyball games need to be on Saturday mornings with 9th/JV at 8 or 9 am while varsity should start at 10 or 11 am! What do you think about that?

Here's the source in regards to that:

  4. Y'all know the reason(s) why Coach T is dismissing all of these coaches who were underperforming is that because it is his job not only as head football coach but also as athletic director for the entire school district to do so. He not only wants to the school succeed as a powerhouse in football but also in other sports as well! Like other posts mentioned, out with the old, in with the new!
  5. I remember back in 1999 when WO-S played Lincoln fighting for the third and final playoff spot! We were scoreless until late in the fourth quarter when Lincoln scored a field goal. Then the Mustangs fought back scoring on a very big run! We held Lincoln thanks to our Chain Gain defense forcing them to punt very late in the game. Then Jamal "Tootie" Warnell committed that costly turnover on punt return in deep in our own territory forcing Lincoln to score their game-winning touchdown, making the playoffs for the first time since 1985 while the Mustangs are being forced to miss out for the first time in seven years and the second time in fifteen and trust me, seven years is a long time! People who were at the game are never going to forget that. If Tootie would have never committed that costly turnover, the 'Stangs could have won a State Championship but who cares what happened in '99. Then next year we went to the State Finals, losing to Ennis 38-24! We were heartbroken but we never went down without a fight!
  6. Oh, well, we're probably not ready for the WAC or other FBS conferences! We'll probably need some more time to mature although we exceed the attendance of other WAC schools! Maybe one day like I said we'll be extended an invitation to rejoin the Sun Belt Conference! Anything can happen at any given moment! Just like everyone else that had been looking forward to this and as a former student at Lamar (college dropout but sooner or later I will go back and get my degree), I was not pretty thrilled about this!

Man, I dont want Toby to leave WOS he has an unbelievable offensive sceme. However, hes a friend and I respect him. He wants to better himself by getting a HC/AD position, then go get it brother. His ambition and win-or-nothing attitude is what makes him such a great coach. Also, what he does for his players is uncanny. That guy has paraded kids around(On his own money with his own car) trying to get them scholarships (after they graduated of couse). He is a players coach with a WOS dicipline mind. Its a win win. But, man I hope he doesnt leave us. With him at OC and Coach Thompson as HC/AD and maybe MARK Foreman as DC here at WOS, whew, we would have the best staff in the state!!

I heard that Coach T is still going to be the defensive coordinator! I doubt it if Coach Mark Foreman is going to be the DC.
  8. If Coach T or Toby don't get the job, I will no longer support the Mustangs! It will be the stupidest decision Dr. Colbert made in his entire educational career! If I were the superintendent, I want to be a leader in a school district that not only it's superior in academics but I want to be a leader in a school district that has a successful athletic program although I would say academics are a top priority! Who cares what happened in 99. The next year we went to the State Finals! I remember when Jamal "Tootie" Warnell turned the ball over on punt return which lead to Lincoln scoring the game-winning touchdown costing us the game and being forced to miss out on the playoffs for the first time in seven years! If it weren't for the turnover, instead of PNG playing Stephenville in the State Championship game, it could have been the 'Stangs and we could have eventually upset them in the Alamodome instead of the Astrodome! After the loss to the Bees, on the busride home, I told one of the players we are going to State next year and we did! We better be careful what we say because stuff like that could happen and it eventually did!
  9. He did not spend three years as head coach at Palestine. Coach T spent only one year as head coach there, compiling a 2-8 record and coached current All-Pro Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson! Why the 2-8 record in 2001 because of grades and injuries to his players. After 2001 until the 2003 season, he was an assistant under then head coach Mark Foreman at Huntsville. Coach T deserved the job more than anyone else! If not, then it's Coach Toby!
