Just because it's a bye week doesn't mean they can slack off! They still have practice. Also, the team needs to scout other teams they will play coming up! Hopefully, WO-S will scout Orangefield! Everyone knows that districts in the area are the toughest in the State, especially 21-3A and 20-4A!

It's not fair they mentioned SHSU over LU! We have an advantage over them having the having one of the best athletic facilities in the Southland Conference! Why they mentioned SHSU over them? Is it because they're closer to Houston (one hour from there)? LU is closer to Houston but only one and a half to two hours away! Does it make any sense at all?

I really wished TWC would carry CSN Houston in addition FSN Houston. Go to Iwantcsnhouston.com.

[/quote] Last year was USTA Football's transitional year because it's their first year of existence! They improved significantly! It'll be very competitive when it comes to recruiting for college football for San Antoine pretty soon because UIW started football most recently and will be an upcoming member of the Southland Conference! I'm hoping there will be a UTSA-UIW rivalry like in the Alamodome!

If they hold on, then the Bears will get their biggest win in years!

Change will never happen overnight! Change is going to be gradual! Those are my thoughts on that! Just ULL, USF, UCF, etc., they took plenty of time to get their football program to the top! If LU follows suit, it'll take time for a FBS program to be competitive (only if they go that level)!

I'm tired of penalties just like everyone else! If I were both coaches, I would do something about this! Won't allow that in district!

Dr. Thomas needs not be the President of Lamar! I don't he has experience teaching college nor being the administrator of higher education! We need some who is well qualified and has experience as a administer of higher education! Hiring Dr.Thomas would be a bad choice in my opinion!  When Dr. Simmons was hired as President, he had experience of being a professor, band director, and dean, all at LU! We want someone like that! Don't y'all agree?

I would say Vidor because it's one of the toughest stadium for top teams to win! WO-S was upsetted by Vidor on the Pirates' home turf like three times during the '90's! In 2003, the Mustangs finally won at Vidor for the first time since like 1988 (the year they went to the State Finals)! Still, Vidor is a tough place for visiting teams to win there!

If Jasper can resume their rivalry with Silsbee, then they can resume their rivalry with Newton!

I remember back in 1999 when WB, WO-S, and Jasper had a jamboree scrimmage with Sulphur! Both teams played great against the Golden Tors! I'd wish we'd do it again! That was a lot of fun!

Tom Berenger who played Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant in the movie The Junction Boys quoted, "I don't care who your father is. I don't care if you're All-State whatever in high school, and I don't care what the last coach promised you. You did stuff your way! We're going to work now!" Did any of your coaches use that mentality? They should go back to days like these when coaches care less who their fathers were! I know Cowboys Coach Garrett is doing that! What do y'all think?

Silsbee, if their budget allows, should get artificial turf to Tiger Stadium. That way, they should host more playoff gmes! That'll be great for 1A/2A teams!

I forward that to my cousin who has coaching experience. He played long snapper/tight end/defensive lineman in high school and was a former LCM/LU standout pitcher who played in the Colorado Rockies organization but never made it past AA. He would be great for the job but I don't know if he will apply but hopefully Colmesneil will find someone!

Keep it up, LU! Education always comes first! This is what they are here for!
