1.
They should beat Nederland this year.
Yeah, right?
2. Would it be a great playoff venue just like Rhodes did over the years?
3.
It will be interesting to see how the districts split up. I have seen one person predict: Coldspring Liberty Tarkington Orangefield Hardin-Jefferson Hamshire-Fannett No offense to anyone...but outside of Coldspring this is not a very good football district to be nice. And 4 of those teams make it? If this is what happens I wouldn't be throwing parades for any coaching staff but for the UIL. I have also seen a prediction of: WOS Coldspring Liberty Tarkington Orangefield Hardin-Jefferson Hamshire-Fannett Much more respectable here just by adding WOS. You can take some pride in making the playoffs out of this district. HF better hope their non-district schedule is weak because I do not see them winning a game in district. Much younger and less talented than they were last year at the moment.
Would it be that district if Buna were to go back to 2A and Bridge City and Silsbee were to move up to 4A? I understand about the enrollment but is it swelling or dropping or is it going to remain steady for the time being? If so, it will probably the toughest district in the State as compared to District 20 4A.
4. Whatever happened to him going on his mission? After all, he is a member of the LDS Church. I thought he is going to walk on at BYU.
5. Best wishes to Coach Hymen and his new team for a successful season!
6. Just saw that on the website, too! A tough loss for them!
7. Limiting full contact practices? This is football! It is a contact sport! Why are they doing this? Do y'all think it is going to help?
8. Coach Magee wanted to assemble a new coaching staff of his own. This is probably why. Good luck to the outgoing coaches!
9. Tarkington's districts are always tough with Cleveland, Coldspring, and Splendora.
10. Like said, someone needs to step up either the AD or the head football coach to stop scheduling NAIA/Division II/III schools. We are tired of seeing them often on the schedules! Where's Northern Iowa? If I were the AD, I would with schools for making scheduling agreements.
11. Lamar needs someone like him! I'd wish we would be in the Sunbelt so that we would be reunited with ULM!
12. What should have done was the the Mountain West Conference needs to be more like the WAC almost 15 years ago and be expanded to 14-16 schools! They need to invite Montana and Northern Arizona to the mix as well as add NMSU and Idaho! It'll be best for both schools!
13. Wine has its health benefits! Best to enjoy it in moderation!
14. That's great! Like I said, we need to invest in LU's future in order to meet the highest standards of this university as much as possible! Lamar is the People's University and it should act this way! Does anyone realize how much trouble this university have went through over the years to bring football back to campus? The alumni and entire community invested in its both short and long term future and that is upgrading and expanding the facilities on campus making it one of the best in the conference? It could be a lot of trouble getting Lamar to FBS status. Like said, we need to act now!
15. Yes, Lamar has a math dept. Like mentioned in other posts, if LU goes FBS, it'll not only be a boast in the local economy and tourism but both universities playing in Beaumont! If like for example, San Diego State and Lamar have an agreement to play at Provost-Umphrey, it will be a great recruiting tool for both schools! Texas State, while transitioning to FBS, they had home and home agreements with the Naval Academy and Wyoming and did it have a great economic impact for both schools? Yes! The problem is the University needs to do something about this NOW! The community and alumni needs to support LU in terms of monetary donations! I mean make short term and long term investments to LU and the athletic department in order to go FBS!
16. We knew Coach Credeur would be over there! Will he be the OC? If so, will Vidor continue to be a successful program?
17. We hope Lamar gets the invite! They deserved it more than anyone else! They have one of the best facilities in the Southland! LU is noted for both academic and athletic excellence! If the Sunbelt extends the invite to LU, both community and alumni support will increase dramatically! We hope they do this!
18. The Mustangs will possibly play the same opponents but the locations will change except they will play at Port Neches again!
19. If Creuder leaves, will Chris Babin be open to coming back to Lumberton?
20. Idaho's athletic budget is going to swell in the coming years especially travel-wise! They would probably wish they were in the Mountain West! If TX State-Lamar were held at Reliant, would the rent be high and would there be a sellout crowd? Would it be worth it at all?
21. Practices are made to be long, hard, and intense! This is why West Orange-Stark has the all-time winning percentage in school history! During the athletic period during football season, they practice in full pads just like after school (from 3:30-6:30, even if the sky is dark)! During the off-season, they hit the weights and use the "speed shoes" on track Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (during athletic period). On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they run with sleds on practice field! That's an example of how West Orange-Stark produces a winning football program and produces numerous college and even pro athletes! Go to their practices and off-season workouts and find out for yourself! You can also ask Coach T for more information!
22. That would be a big advantage if Lamar goes FBS! The pros outweigh the cons!
