  1. Our district is fun and stuff but let's be real. It will probably be just like last year in Reg 3. All 4 teams from our district will be the final 4. Sucks we'll have to eliminate one another in the playoffs again but one of us needs to be in Austin in June and I'll be behind whichever one of our teams make it! Hopefully it's the 'Stangs.

It was 2-2 count and it was a swing, damn near full swing, which should have been the third out in the inning with the throw down to first.  Umpire in the field should have seen it, even from his location, it was so obvious.  However, the supposed SEC umpire behind the plate, didn't advance the count to 3-2, so the next 2 balls made this at bat a 5 ball walk.

Jack threw a hell of a game.  No doubt about that.

Man! That's even more confusing than what I first thought!! So basically, the way it should have looked was that it was the 3rd strike but the catcher missed it, which the runner can advance to first, but he didn't run and the catcher (Thibodeaux?) threw it to first and should have been the 3rd out?? But the the ump said he didn't swing but then didn't even register the pitch as a ball?? Lol! Crazy!

  3. Honest, non homer question. What happened on the call when Teron check swung and the ball got passed the catcher? I was confused on that. Wasn't It a 3-1 count or 2-1, and Teron (think it was Teron) check swung but the ball got past the BC catcher and missed it but the count stayed the same. Then we scored the go ahead run. Maybe Roderick Robertson can shed some light in that. I wasn't there but listening on the radio and it sounded very confusing.

  4. Two of the best teams in 4A in the state getting after it. I wouldn't have expected anything less than the final score. JD throws a 1 hitter and the game still came down to 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th. WOS, BC, Orangefield and Silsbee are all threats for the 4A crown. Hell, even throw in LCM, they made a run last year after a "not so stellar" district record.  Crazy thing is we are all in the same district! It would be hard pressed to find a tougher district in the whole state. Anyways, great game BC and congrats to my Mustangs!!! Also, who was the broadcaster in KOGT? I liked him......even though he was a little biased toward BC. Lol.

  5. I completely agree, our district is loaded with baseball talent. One of us has to make a run. How about this.....no matter our district order going into the playoffs, one of us needs to bring another SC trophy back here to our little corner of the state. They want to talk trash on us but if I remeber correctly, we now have a football and basketball State Championship. Let's go for baseball and track. We have the athletes.......we just need the desire......

  6. I know there are many topics and news stories about the Silsbee Tiger basketball team......I just wanted to post my own "topic" on this forum because of how the Silsbee folks have been behind WOS 112% during the 3 year run at the football state championships. And also the 2015 baseball state championship. We might bicker and trash talk during the season but we're all SETX'ns. Silsbee just brought us ANOTHER State Championship to our little corner of Texas. Yeah, it might be  the Tigers first SC, but hopefully won't be the last. From a diehard Mustang.........GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!

They played for Jacksonville we beat them in 98 in Huntsville they dropped Hail Mary in end zone 97 we lost same venue on fumble on kickoff they scored twice in final 2 minutes to beat us

If I recall correctly, the 97 game was a double header with us (WOS). I believe we beat Brownsboro. I'm pretty sure we played first because we played during the day and remeber seeing your busses/players after we got out of our locker room and we telling y'all good luck and that we were behind our district mates.

No, it was three years.  2001 WOS was 5-5.  Along with losing Coach T, we moved to the spread offense and there were some growing pains.  2002 and 2003 had two pretty good teams go 8-2.  In my opinion, defense wasn't the biggest problem but it was offense....which stung us even when Coach T came back.  We dropped in 2004 and lost somehow (I'm sure some folks would have better insight here) in the first round.  2005 made a good run with Beasley and Earl...and ran into Wimberly.

Ah, ok, I stand corrected. We lost our first round playoff game in 04 to a last second Fieldgoal to Hargrave, I think in the dome maybe?

They actually missed the last three years in 4A, '01-03.  They made the 3A state semifinal game in '05.  The first time to the 3A finals was in 2014.

No, just 2. 2000 lost the state title. 2001-2002 went 8-2 and no playoffs. 2003 dropped and made playoffs.
