1.
Good game and Kudos to Laporte for playing tough smashmouth Football. The Titans played a good game and KRH coached a good game. No excuses from me, the kids on both sides played their hearts out.
BigD92, I with you on this one.  It was a great game. There were missed opportunities by both teams. Both teams were without key players. LaPorte was without Webb, but Whitely more than made up for his loss. The Titans were without Barnes on defense and Holmes left the game in the first half with an ankle injury. You have to give it to LaPorte, on the final drive, they converted on two 4th down situations to keep the drive going. I agree with Garrity, to become a rivalry, I think the Titans will have to win back to back games against LaPorte.  However, there is a rivalry with West Brook and the Titans finally beat Brook this year for the first time in I believe 4 years. Back to work Titans and finish strong at home.  Hopefully Holmes can rest this game and get healed and ready for the playoffs.
2. Looks like the LaPorte curse continues for 1 more year. The Titans have to re-group, close out strong, go 9-1 on the regular season, and get ready for the playoffs.
3. 37 seconds.  2nd and goal at the 10 yard line. 3rd and goal at the 3. Touchdown LaPorte with 28 seconds remaining
4. Birdville scores again.  Aledo 55 - Birdville 42
5. Heck of a game.  It would be much closer if not for the 3 turnovers by Birdville.
6. They are forecasting a 40% chance of rain on Thursday with lows in the low to mid 40s on Friday and Saturday morning.
7. Forecast is no impact at all.  It is projected to turn and go across Florida being pushed by the cold front that is supposed to move through on Thursday.
8. I agree with Garrity, it's a trap game for the same reasons that others have stated. It's in between NS and LaPorte, it's a Saturday afternoon game, and it's an away game. You can be assured that LaPorte will be there scouting. The Titans have to be careful, stay focused, and avoid turnovers. Although it is a trap game, if you will, I still believe that the Titans will win.
9. Congratulations Laura. I had an opportunity to watch St. Edwards vs Alvin CC on this past Saturday at the Spring/Klein Fall College Classic. Best wishes and have fun.
10. Congratulations AJ, from an '87 alumni of LU. My Alma Mater is getting a great player to establish a good foundation for their softball program.
11.
Is this possibly the best offense Memorial has ever had, from a scoring and statistical point?
Ozensfastest, The other PAM team that comes to mind was when Jamaal Charles was a junior and they lost to Katy in the Astrodome.  In my opinion, the reason they lost to Katy was because the QB, Porterie, was taken out of the game towards the end of the second quarter, due to a suspected concussion.  Katy had no answer for PAM's passing game as they scored on their first 2 possessions via the airways.  Each touchdown, I believe, was over 50 yards.  The Katy DBs could not run with Memorial's receivers.  PAMs wideouts were both 6'2", or taller, and one weighed 200 lbs, and I think the other was around 190. Bottomline, Porterie goes out before halftime and Jamaal Charles rushes for over 200 yards in a losing effort.  That team was explosive.
12. I have only seen Ozen once this year, against Central.  I have not seen Vidor at all this year. Although Central runs the spread, they normally have a good running game when they run out of the I. I don't know what type of offense Vidor runs, but, I'm pretty sure that Ozen will probably have 8 men in the box.  The ball control works if you can eat up clock and score.  Ozen has quick strike capability, and if they are able to get ahead by 1 or 2 touchdowns, that might take Vidor out of their ball control offense, and force them to pass more. I give the edge to Ozen.
13.
I have Ozen in this one...I have seen both teams...                         OZEN                                           CENTRAL QB                  EDGE RB                  EDGE WR                  EDGE OL                  EDGE DL                                                                          EDGE LB's                PUSH                                              PUSH DB's              EDGE                                           Score            34              ----------------              14
I agree with your breakdown, with one caveat. While Ozen might have the edge at RB, I give Central the edge with the overall running game. It's what they do, and they have shown that over the last couple of weeks. Ozen will have to shutdown, or at least contain Central's running game. Special teams could play a big part in this game.
14. Well, I'm undecided at this point. I think that Ozen has looked better, only based upon each team's performance against West Brook and P.A. Memorial. Both teams must eliminate the mental errors and turnovers. Based upon past history, I give the edge to Central, because over the last couple of years they have shown improvement each week. Whereas Ozen has been inconsistent.  They show flashes of being a good team, but it's not consistent. Ozen has speed, and has quick strike capability, but Central is consistent. However, in these type of rivalry games, anything can, and will happen. My heart says Ozen, but my head says Central. Prediction: Central by 6.
15. WOW, that was a quick whistle.  Stump had good reason to be upset.
16. Uuhhhh Ozen coach, can you put your QB under the center?  SMH ::)
17.
#76 is done for the year. West Brook 24 Ozen 7 half.
Awwww man.  Hate to hear that about #76. Will pray for him and his family.  First game, first quarter, and his season is done.  That's sad news.
18.
Dumb penalty by Ozen gives wb the ball. Smh
WOW!!! Westbrook punted but Ozen had too many men on the field. C'mon special teams coach. Central and Ozen have a hard enough time against Westbrook and P.A. Memorial without those type of penalties and miscues.
19.
Here's the thing, I'm seeing Central make a lot of mistakes and PAM capitalizing on them. Memorial is not impressing me. I'm not hating on them, I just don't think PAM is that good. WB and NS, both, will have their way with PAM. Just saying.....
82 5A State Champs, you might be correct.  However, how good a team looks to a person is subjective and relative to that persons views, opinions, experience, and their comparison measurement.  While PAM might not be that good, it could be that they are better prepared and more focused than Central.  But, I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock either way, because they beat Central 38 - 0 last year and both teams went several rounds into the playoffs.  As Buddy Garrity stated, Central has a history of not starting off th season good, especially when they are young. One thing I have to give credit to is, a good team will make you pay for your mistakes.  If PAM had not capitalized on any of Central's miscue's, then that would lead me to believe that they are not that good.  Also, PAM has 3 D-1 signees on offense, which is pretty good. I have been trying to listen to the webcast but it keeps going out.  Regardless of the score, best wishes to both teams.
20. The QB from Central is talented and could make some plays with his legs. However, if the Central O-line has problems, and cannot pick up the blitz, it will be a long night. I heard that Memorial has a pretty good group of linebackers with some size. I don't know much about Central's defense, but Memorial has a lot of weapons and speed on offense. Something that I have not seen anyone mention, and that is special teams. Last year special teams play really hurt Central. I am going with P. A. Memorial. P.A. Memorial by 14 (28 - 14)
