Especially after reading the article and the official had to tell them they have been playing with 10 men for the last 5 minutes.  What?  I'm sure coaches on the Lumberton staff knew they only had 10 men on defense.  Who's the defensive coordinator?  Is there not someone up in the pressbox looking at the players on the field?  I can understand for 1 or 2 plays, but 5 minutes.  Smh, WOW!!!

[/quote] I agree with you Ozens fastest.  Unfortunately, Ozen needs Vidor and PNG to win, and their mindset will be different depending upon the outcome of both games.

I know the alignment that was posted is not official. In my opinion, Livingston should be in the same district with Huntsville, Willis, Magnolia and either the Montgomery schools, or the Humble Schools.  I posted the estimated travel times in the Alignment thread as being a big budget issue and concern, especially with the sports (volleyball, basketball, and softball) where you play twice (home and away) in the same season.  Also, due to the distance, the time that the athletes have to miss at least 1 or 2 classes, get home late at night, and get up early to go to school the next day.  When I think about that, all I can do is shake my head.

[/quote] In my opinion, Livingston should be in the same district with Magnolia, Magnolia West, Montgomery, etc, or with Huntsville, Willis, and the Humble schools.  Livingston is at most, 30 minutes from Huntsville and 30 minutes from Willis.  Livingston is at least 1 1/2 hours from Beaumont, and probably 2 hours from Nederland, Port Neches, and LCM.  That is a lot of traveling, especially for volleyball, basketball and softball, when you play twice in the same season. i think that the UIL will really take this into consideration, especially with the budget cuts from the government.  It will be interesting for sure.

[/quote] I just wondered why they would add Deer Park, and not keep them in the District with the Pasadena Schools.  Well, with only 6 teams in a district, and 4 making the playoffs, I guess adding another team that's not too far away, makes sense.  Also, I just checked, and every 5A district in the State has at least 7 teams.  I think most of them have 8, and 1 had 9 teams.  District 23-5A, the Fort Bend Schools, would have had 10 teams, except now it looks like Willowridge and Marshall have dropped to 4A.

I would pick Montana from Vidor as District MVP and Bertrand or Jones as the Offensive MVP. To Green's credit, he has played in 7 of the 9 games, if I am not mistaken.
