And where are you finding this stuff out about that Livingston is heavily favored? Because most of the talk i've seen is that Livingston O is stoppable and Nederland stopped them and until last week when Nederland defensively destroyed a team we were pretty much putting up the same numbers lol. Now i do agree with you on the PNG game. It is a toss up cuz we are playing at the Rez and yall are putting up very high numbers offensively and yes most of your receivers are in the top ten but our defense has shut down high powered offenses before and we will have Bolinger back for that game and all four of our running backs are in the top 15 also. So i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Vidor may be putting up the same numbers as Nederland defensively, but Vidor still hasn't faced Livingston and PN-G. Nederland has faced both. I doubt Vidor will put up defensive numbers against these two teams similar to Nederland's. Vidor/PN-G is a toss-up, and I'm picking Livingston against the Pirates.
Again i say. How is Livingston favored?
People prob think that Livingston is the favorite b/c other than the Nederland game, they are putting up 45 points per game. In addition, Vidor beat Lumberton in a close game 30-26, whereas Livingston beat Lumberton 49-7. I'm not saying that Livingston will win, but I can see why they might be the favorite. The other common opponent was Nederland which Vidor played a closer game than did Livingston, so Pirate fans could use that angle as being favorites. Should be a good game.
That's pretty much it. The only 20-4A team that has matched Livingston offensively is PN-G (point-wise, they're tied for the top spot and PN-G slightly exceeds Livingston's average yards total). Livingston has a heck of a running game that I just don't think Vidor can stop. Sure, Vidor's put up some pretty good defensive numbers, but the Pirates also haven't faced the two top offenses in the district yet. Those numbers could be totally flipped in a couple weeks. But hey, I'd be lying if I said that I haven't been surprised before. That's the nature of the game.
Your just proving our point Bama kid. PNG always has to have the last word and they always gotta come back with something. We're just gonna let our score talk for us 8)
I don't know. I mean, y'all are playing at the Reservation this year. We've got an artificial field, and Vidor folks prefer real grass, remember? ;) ;D

Purple is the color of a bruise.....
Something Vidor knows very well. ;D
Yeah, we do!! Except we're administering them this year....
I've got to hand it to Vidor - they've far exceeded expectations this year. I was shocked when the Pirates pulled off the win against Texas High - that game had me rethinking playoff predictions, and it looks like I was right to reconsider. With that said, I wouldn't be counting unhatched chickens just yet. You've had unexpected success so far this year. That's great for your community, your program and your team. That doesn't mean you're going to win out. You still have Livingston and PN-G to face. Like it or not, there's no clear winner in the PN-G/Vidor game (even as a hardcore PN-G fan, I think it's a toss-up) and the Lions are heavily favored in the Livingston/Vidor game. Good luck to Vidor in Weeks 8 and 10 and may the best team win in Week 9. Also, you guys have my deepest sympathies regarding the loss of Matt Thomas. Scalp 'em.
He has been calling out the d coordinator at nederland for a few years now saying he needs to get fired. Now for some reason Smitty is nowhere to be found except for the Political Forum. ;)
That's not all. He loves to rag on PN-G for building a new stadium and seems hellbent on keeping new schools out of Nederland. Not to mention that he starts some of the craziest threads in the political forum (even as a conservative, I think he's a little out there).
Best game in district. 8)
That could be debated. PN-G lost to Nederland 24-21. That's the most anyone's scored on Nederland in district (maybe all season, not sure), and it happens to be Mid-County Madness. If it weren't for a failed fourth and inches conversion, the game may have gone to PN-G.
Were you at the Vidor Nederland game? No i don't think you were so you honestly can't say much about that "L" in our district game. Anyone who was at that game knows full well that we gave Nederland the best game they have had this year and we gave them that game with our LEADING RUSHER at the time out of the game. Not taking anything away from Nederland. They did what they needed to do to win. But IMO they got lucky and if Nederland and Vidor met again it would be a different outcome.
I'm pretty sure Barbers Hill gave Nederland their best game so far this year. ;D
As for PNG and Nederland, it's just shows intelligence that neither school as their homecoming with that game. It sells out anyways. Gives them an opportunity to sell the home side out for another game.
Like that doesn't happen for the other games at PN-G anyways. ;D

Half the nation's refining capacity would be gone and we'd take the rest of the Golden Triangle with us. ;D
We were Vidors homecoming last year...Loved the show, very entertaining!
Is the glass half full or half empty?
I tend to be a "half full" kind of guy, but my view isn't what matters. It's the coaches' views that matter, and I can guarantee that they see room for improvement and will have the Indians ready for every game the rest of the season. They turned us around from a worse record last year to take us on our deepest playoff run since we went to state in '99. They haven't disappointed yet and I, for one, don't think they'll disappoint now. -

Why do you think that?
Just remember....Karma's a B buddy. Get used to everyone outside of mid county routing against you purple thugs. Even in the playoffs.
Obviously. Look at yours. ;D PN-G wanted this game badly. Our second string ran the ball non-stop and was still able to put points on the board. That doesn't make PN-G classless, it just means the Indians were all around the better team. Congrats, Indians, and good luck, Raiders. On another note, I don't think PN-G needs to assume it's going to "slap" anybody. Yes, we handed Lumberton a blowout. Lumberton's given LC-M and Vidor some very competitive games, but that doesn't translate to an automatic win for the Indians. Remember, Vidor only lost to Nederland by three points and Ned just beat Livingston. Granted, there are a couple rivalry games in there, so scores aren't as telling as they normally are, but that's still proof that we shouldn't be counting unhatched chickens. I'm almost positive our coaching staff isn't; I just hope our players aren't, either.
Lets see, Crosby, Livingston, Nederland. Not use to losing games to these foes, although Ned's fans would disagree with me.
We lost to a well-armed Crosby by one point and Nederland by three against what is almost undoubtedly the best defense in the district. Our only big loss was to the offensive powerhouse that is Livingston, and even the Livingston fans will tell you that the game was closer than the score indicates (we matched them point for point until the fourth quarter). We've taken some hard knocks, but we haven't been slapped around. -
